Rio nodded. "It'd be an honor." he said as he offered his hand. His flame patterns flared.

Severus furrowed his brows again when he saw the crimson drop on the corner of her lip. Without a thought he reached down and lifted it away with his thumb, bringing it up a bit higher and looking at it. ...Blood. he thought. He tugged a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the blood on it. It'd wash it out later. "I am at a loss, Kaiden. Is there a doctor around here that might see her?" he asked rather gravely, turning to look at the male Shimmer drake.
Kaiden blinked a couple of times before he shook his head softly. "Not that I know of. Perhaps Profet, but...I really don't know where she is." He still stared at Dawn's stomach, hands gripping at the fabric in his pants along his legs. "Is she going to die?" he asked, suddenly as grave as Severus. The thought that they might lose the baby was chief in his mind, but he was also worried about the woman that carried it. She was really a nice woman from what he had seen when he talked to her before, and it would be a shame to lose such a woman.
Catriona smiled brightly, but instead of taking his hand, she slipped the crook of her arm into his own. Still, the sudden warmth she felt made her shiver slightly. Somehow she felt safe with this drake, no matter how much his type conflicted with hers, no matter how she knew Alma would be worrying about her, nothing else mattered. "Shall we, then?" she asked softly, looking up at him and tilting her head slightly to the right.

Dawn slowly started to awake, but she kept her eyes close, she felt as if the entire room was spinning. But her main thought was her child. She heard grave voices, one she didn't recongize, the second, she knew all to well. "Kaiden..." She whispered.

Kaiden's head snapped up to look at Dawn. For once, Severus remained where he was as the younger of the two flipped onto his knees. "Yes, Dawn?" he asked softly, wide eyes staring down at Dawn's face. She was awake! Surely this meant something good, right? Out of instinct, he lightly grabbed her hand, waiting to see if she would respond.

"I've been looking for you..." She said weakly, gently squeezing his hand. "I have to tell you... you're going to be a father...... soon..." She coughed again, yet another trickle of blood appeared. "I'm sorry......"

The way that she squeezed his hand made Kaiden realize that he was holding hers, but he couldn't bring himself to let hers go. She needed strength right now, and he knew it. "Then our child will be lovely, just like you." he said, the charming words rolling off of his tongue before he could even think. 'Twas too much of a habit.

Dawn barely opened her eyes. "Your heart is still set on my sister..." Dawn whispered hoarsly. "I hear it in your voice, see it in your eyes and feel it in your touch... even your charms can't hide the truth from...me..." She winced and squeezed his hand instinctivly. She felt the child inside her move, she was already large enough to where she could give birth at any time, but with all the blankets on her, it was difficult to tell, she had grown since Severus gave her that potion.

Dread filled Kaiden's eyes. Was he so transparent? Yes, he still had feelings for Destiny. He could not yet recognize the little feeling that he had shoved to the back of his mind. After all, all the drakes he knew had fallen in love once and then became their mates. There was no doubt in his mind that the first was the one that you would always choose. It happened with his parents, after all. As she squeezed his hand, he instinctively squeezed back. A tapping on his shoulder, however, made him look to Severus. He was beckoning the younger drake to another room. Kaiden looked at Dawn and nodded to her. "I will return. Stay strong." He rose to his feet and followed Severus from the room.
When they were in the next room, the door softly closed, Severus crossed his arms over his chest and looked towards Kaiden. "I do not know if she is going to die. But I do know that you need to do something to make up for this." A grave error on his part. How could Kaiden have such a lapse of judgement if he didn'teven love the girl? Severus already knew that love was not for him, but surely Kaiden knew better. From what he knew of the lad already, he had a strong head on his shoulders.

Dawn was already gaining strength and she watched him go with the older male into the next room. Once the door was close her eyes shot open and she sat up. Her throat hurt because of the droughts she was given. That last one didn't agree with her but it was making her stronger, she then stood up steading herself after realizing how much she'd grown and shifted her weight to where she could walk easier. Looking at the closed door she slowly made her way toward the hidden back door in the spare room. It looked just like the wall except for alittle knob for the door handle, incase anyone were to attack that door was their only means of escape.
Once outside Dawn wrapped the blanket she had taken tightly around her and made her way to her special spot, which was a clearing in the forest under the willow tree. But as she was crossing into the thick wooded area, she felt sharp pains start, each one worse than the last until she realized something... She was in labor... It was only a matter of time now before she gave birth... Wrapping the blanket more tightly about her, she made her way through the forest, resting every once in a while against a tree, breathing heavily in labor. I have to get to my tree... she thought. I was stupid to leave, but I had to... tonight is the night it happens...
She kept walking, even though the pain was unbearable. Her heart racing with each step, her breathing now a harsh pant, yet she would not stop, not yet, she kept biting her tounge untill blood started to show on her lips as she tried not to scream. Soon she was at her clearing, and there stood the weeping willow tree. She staggered toward the tree and unwrapped the blanket, placing it under the tree. She then collasped on it on her back and stared up into the branches. The stars were brighter this evening, and the Moon lingered just over the clearing. Suddenly the sky was alight with shooting stars, she continued the breath as she watched the stars, just then a star exploded, it was then Dawn screamed as she bared down, hard.
There was silence soon after, except for the hooting of owls and the song of the crickets.

Kaiden shook his head slightly. "Make up for it? How? I have nothing I can do to compensate for it, and I don't-"
Severus rolled his eyes and shook his head slightly. Men these days..."You need to care for the child as well." He leveled the younger man with his intense onyx eyes. "Offer to be her mate or something of the like." He unhooked his arms and waved a hand dismissively at the remark.
Kaiden's heart felt like it had stopped. He gulped softly, though he felt his eyes beginning to hurt from his contacts being in a bit too long. "But...but I can't! I'm in love with someone else! If I become Dawn's mate, I'll never be able to..." He trailed off, letting out a long sigh that he didn't know he had held in. Destiny didn't love him. Was he destined to forever be alone? Or could he take this chance to raise his children, even if he would never love the woman? Severus nodded to him before he started towards the door. Kaiden was fully aware of the fact that the older man wouldn't leave unless he thought Dawn fine, and therefore relaxed a bit. He stood in the same place for awhile, mulling over everything in his brain, until he saw a bright light through the windows. He went to the window and peeked outside, watching the stars shoot across the sky. When one exploded, he almost thought he heard a scream, but thought little of it. It looked like something a Celestial might do when playing around with the sky. I should...check on Dawn again. He ran a hand through his hair with a little sigh before he turned on his heel and went back into the room.
Something wasn't right.
Dawn was gone!

Kaynish had watched Dawn leave and knew something wasn't right. He then heard a scream, and knew it was Dawns. Bounding down the hill he pushed through the other door. He saw Kaiden and bounded onto him almost knocking him down, he then took hold of Kaiden's shirt and began dragging him outside urgently. He then realized that this would take to long he then threw Kaiden on his back, gave him a look to hold on then shot forward toward the forest. Following Dawn's scent. It took alot less time than it did for Dawn to travel and soon the large lion stopped dead, causing his rider to fall off. He then walked into the clearing. There Dawn sat, cradling her new born baby girl. She looked up startled and afraid when she saw Kaynish, but she then smiled after she knew who it was. She then realized he didn't come alone.

Everything seemed to happen so quickly. Kaiden had leaned forward and touched the sheets, feeling the lingering body warmth upon them. He was about to make an estimate of how long she had been gone when Kenjin's lion suddenly bounded in and began to drag him. The young man fell down to his butt with a soft 'oof!', mentally reminding himself to tell Kenjin to sand his floors. As soon as they were outside, he was tossed a bit like a ragdoll onto the lion's back, the breath being knocked out of him and his vision swimming for a moment. As soon as the lion began to move, however, he gripped his mane tightly. What was this overgrown feline doing?! If Kaiden hadn't been more worried about Dawn, he would have thought that he was being kidnapped. However, the trip paid off. Whenever the lion stopped, the force that had Kaiden still moving kept his movements and shot him over the lion's head, letting him land in a pile.
He climbed to his knees, rubbing the back of his neck with a little wince. Agh...so glad I didn't wear my glasses today... he thought to himself before he looked up. He barely registered Dawn. All he saw was the little girl in her arms, the one with her mother's coloring and her father's markings. She was beautiful, just like her mother. His breath caught in his throat as he slowly moved across the forest floor on his knees, eyes never moving from his...his daughter. He gulped before he finally looked up at Dawn. "She's beautiful, just like her mother." Once again, the words slipped off of his tongue, but they were heartfelt for once. After a moment of thinking, he managed to speak again. "Why did you leave?" If Severus had been there, a long lecture would have followed, but he knew better than to do so. He chose to keep his mouth shut, but couldn't stop looking back to his daughter.

Dawn was unable to look up at Kaiden, though she did blush gently at his comment about their daughter. "I was afraid..." she said softly gently touching her daughter's face. "so I came here... This was my safe place I use to go when I was upset or afraid..." She managed to look up at him. "I know your heart is still set on Destiny... and I can't blame you... how can I compare to her? She's far more beautiful than I'll ever be..." She looked back down at her daughter, who had now stuck her thumb in her mouth. "Her name is Serena May..." she said again.

"You two are beautiful in different ways." Kaiden quickly said, resisting the urge to reach out and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. Wait...where had that urge come from? He shook his head a little before realizing that one of his eyes was refusing to focus. Oh...great. Apparently a contact lense had fallen out. Alma had warned him of this, but...no, he'd be fine. "You shine and shimmer, for example. One cannot help but to look at you." He looked back down at their daughter. "That's a beautiful name. Have you had that name for quite awhile?" How he could have a conversation with the girl that he had impregnated and not feel awkward, he didn't know, but he had an urge to keep her talking, to hear her voice...Wait, no. No, it was just to hear about their daughter. Yes. That was it.

Dawn continued to look at their daughter. "I've always liked that name, Serena May, I heard it in a song once when I was little, and have always told myself, if ever I would have a little girl, I'd name her Serena May." She really wished he'd touch her to sit next to her with one arm about her shoulders the two of them looking down at their daughter together. But she knew it was a fools fantasy. "I'm sorry..." She said softly.
