Xol grit his teeth at her still incoherent babble. She was saying small fragments of sentences with sparse words and jibberish. These were not the anwsers he was seeking. More time and patience would be required, that much was obvious.
"What about Mastema? Hmmm... what is your relation with Mastema... and before you what? What are you going to do?" His face was contorted in a perplexed gaze. The drugs had made their roles shift. He was know waiting and trying to decipher her remarks. This was beginning to be more trouble than it was worth, but he had to have anwsers.

*Like any good interigation, things always took time, but Xol was racing a clock so to speak, and Thanatos was the ticker. Just like the first time when Sho had arrived, now Thanatos was here and doing the same thing, trying to take Nana back. Before this was all over, perhaps he would and end this senseless kidnapping, the basis of which was a speculation that Mastema had a deal with heaven, and Nana was some sort of middle man for them working out of the citadel*
Nnn...... I'm sorry. I'm-- too weak... Nnn... Before-- Before.... Ahh--! Who?
*Nana was still trying to fight, she wanted to know who was holding her captive, somewhere in her lesser concious mind she was trying to press through the drugs. If ever Nana was drunk, the analysis would be that she was a shy drunk, the kind easily manipulated. Thankfully Mastema had more sense than Xol to make Nana enter a drunken state, Another pair of arched energy flows over her, followed shortly by two more. They were becoming more frequent; more things break in the background. Xol was close enough that he might get hit by one of the arches, if heh was too close, he'd probably start to bleed a bit and that wouldn't make him very pleased at all. Xol should be thankful that Nana couldn't feel Gabriel's presense right now, or she really would be a handful*

Done..... *Than was about to see if his plan would work. The old symbols hadn't been so much erased as covered over in the rock. Essentially, this would preserve whatever effect they had on the stone. Than's new symbols were "adapters" in a sense.... which, if they worked, would hopefully allow him to use Xol's symbol's effect without having to read them. Activating his magic, Than tried to "hack" Xol's magic and get to the keep*

Than's attempts at "hacking" his runic markings would succeed, but would only teleport him to the main courtyard. A large fountain would be to his left, a massive onyx mirrored building to his right and surrounding would be a forrest like set up with even the night sky and a subtle breeze.
The Keep looked like a massive, black, glossy cube with no entrances or windows at the moment.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xol roared and slammed his first clear through the table by Nana's head, quickly pulling it out with the sound of scraping metal filling the air and small sparks showering her.
This was like talking to a child, albeit a mentally challenged one.
An idea struck him. If she currently had the mentality of a child then why not treat her like one. Ask simple yes or no questions. Indeed, that sounded like it would work.
"Nana, do you have a relation with Mastema? If so, is it from the Heavens, by blood, a relationship perhaps?" He snickered at the last comment finding it highly unlikely. Then again, those kids had to have come from somewhere. His mind snapped back from his internal questioning as a cascade of sparks shot out again. More than before, one grazing is gauntleted hand.

*Nana twitches slightly as sparks bounce off of her face and armor. If there was a problem with Nana's mind right now then it was drug induced. Never having tested the liquid in Nana until now it was like an experiment in itself just to see what certain ammounts would do. Nana was Xol's guineapig at the moment, and both drug and antidote had strange effects on her. Nana would answer, best she could to whatever questiones were asked, while in the "yes or no" fashion*
Nnn.... yes. Nnn...... No. No..... Mmn.... yes.
*If the spark from Nana's own person had struck Xol, grazing his hand slightly, a trickle of blood and discoloration would appear, just like the discoloration of her neck, which was worsening. But since it had hit his gauntlet, only a small chip or two would be seen. Nana actually managed to chip Xol's gauntlet a little? That was like peeling paint off of the side of a barn. While answering she had winced at least twice; there was slight swelling on Nana's neck now aswell*

*Than blinked and he found himself in a new place. Had the attempt actually worked?* o.x Nng... this better be the place *Than instantly ran towards the large cube, knowing there would be no entrance with Xol's security. Maybe now, so close yet so far from Xol, the man would hear Than and realize just how close the boy was getting* Xol! I will not stand by and let you hurt an innocent of any kind. *Than was through looking for another way in. Once at the wall to the keep, Than immediately started using his left arm to etch in another symbol. Than had to work fast, before the drugs wore off*

Since the lab was a seperate entity from the Keep now, there was no way of knowing how close Than was, scream as loud as he might.
Than would find that the trick he used above would not work here. Since the lab was disconnected from the Keep, there was no way to physically teleport to it as the Keep could not be used as a conduit like the cave had. That and the building itself was much harder to etch into than stone, more easily compared too with diamond.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Foolish boy. Eh, yes? Yes on what... the relationship part?" This struck a chord with Xol. A small victory he had already gained. Though no one aside from he and perhaps Nana knew. That day. That one day. She didn't remember him though. How? This puzzeled Xol more than Nana and Mastema having a relationship. He would try a new line of questioning now.
"Alright then Nana. Relationship... hm, is he your husband? And if so, do you have any children? Eh, and how many if you do."
He was used to having long, drawn out intellectual conversations with people. This was shifting gears exponentially. Finding the easiest way to ask a question was actually hard for him to do. It was a fine balance between what she might be able to anwser without it being too complicated for her mind to comprehend in it's current state.
Past frustration, he glanced down at his gauntlet and noticed a small series of chips. His eyes narrowed for a moment. Those sparks... making chips in his gauntlets though. No. That was impossible. A normal Angel could not do that.

*Nana would never remember that day, just like the other five seperate occassions before it, the sixth time was no different. It was a secret built into the female witness' programming, and happend only once every five hundred years in a cycle. For one day at random something special would happen, but unfortnately the witness would never remember, that's just how it was to be. In a way it was sabitage, it ruined the entire experiment that heaven was preforming but only one person knew, but whether that person was alive or dead who could say. It had been three thousand years afterall, and things change, people disappear*
Nnn... yes. Yes. Nn.... four.
*Four? When Xol asked the question, Nana must have been including Thanatos into the count. Stepson through marraige, but a child now also in her family. The boy was dear to her, and the older sibling of his new younger three. As for the arcs and the chips missing from the guantlet, Xol would find out if he injured Nana any further no doubt. Now that he was being more passive, the arcs seemed to have stopped*

*Quickly finding that etching was useless, Than had switched to his usual form of drawing with his energy. The symbol drawn, Than placed his hand on it* Please... let me have the strength to pull this last effort. *Out of his right hand, Than's personal aura was flowing into the walls of the keep. The symbol he'd drawn on it was simply an entry point. Than was going to put as much energy in as he could fit. This drain of personal aura was hard on Than, but it was only half of his plan. Focusing his thoughts back to the day he'd murdered Apollo, an energy would begin to gather in Than's left hand* ><

Young Thanatos had obviously not taken breaking and entering 101. It would have been almost idiotic to assume Xol didn't have some sort of defense system in place. As Than started to channel energy into the Keeps wall, three pannels opened up all far enough apart to be extremely hard to detect be peripheral vision. One to either side and one above. Out of each silently emerged a slender, cannon like weapon. The one above sprayed an instant dry polymer concoction at him, capable of withstanding immense pressures, while the other two launched plasma based statis beams to try and trap him as well.
Other such cannon like apparatuses slid out of similiar panels, most being above him, aiming down and forming crimson orbs of energy at their tips.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xol shook his head at Than's futile endeavors. What did he hope to accomplish? Even if he did manage to get in the Keep, many more surprises awaited him. Xol didn't just sit on his a** all day.
"Four? Wha... bah, ok, well that explains a few things. However... oh, yes of course!" A grin actually snaked across Xol's lips as he leaned in to ask another question. Perhaps she was feeling well enough to actually anwser instead of the simple yes or no they had been playing around with up untill now.
"Your children Nana, what are their names? All four of them now..."

Nnn..... their names?
*The question was simple enough, the names of her children. Since taking the passive approch Xol was having much better luckwith Nana. By now the mark on her neck was turning in to that of a black and blue mark*
...Thanatos. Micha. Eecheb. Trilla.
*Just what Xol planned to do with their names wasn't certain, but it probably wouldn't boad well. Did he plan to try and call them out? Zio could shut out sound if that was the case. But there had to be a reason, maybe to further scare Nana if need be. She was already scared for one reason or another, would Xol give her more reason to be?*

*Than saw the beam cannons appear nad blinked* Kuso! Drunkard Shade! *Shouting the name of his basic shadowing technique, Than draws upon even more power. He could handle the strain now.... but such exertions were going to have serious effects soon. Than had suffered tremendous injuries and overexertions from the seven hells temple, Hathus, and now Xol's keep. *The shadow cacoon would envelope Than, temporarily shielding him from the oncoming barrage. Just a little longer and Than could complete his goal of blowing open the keep, hopefully. By now, even Xol should be able to feel just how unstable the energy in Than's left hand was, and his personal aura was heavily concentrated in the area in front of him. With Nana's latest answer, Xol would understand why Than was so desperately trying to get Nana back*

Xol didn't care how much Thanatos wanted Nana, or that she considered him a son. He wanted more anwsers and untill he got them there was no getting her back.
The Keep's wall in front of Than cracked slightly, but not before a barrage of focused dark matter rained down on his barrier. It was all focused on one point, where his head was last sighted in. The power from the cannons drew from Xol and a massive generator coil deep under the Keep. The goal of the cannons was now to pierce through Than's barrier by focusing on one point.
If Than's barrier happened to fall, the statis beams would keep him in place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Thanatos? What?! He is most obviously Mastema's and Aeris's love child... not yours. He's trying to break in here right now, however, he will never reach you in time."
Xol grinned maliciously, clearing his throat and preparing another barrage of questions.
"Nana. FOCUS! What kind of Angel are you? No ordinary Angel could scratch these gauntlets. You must be one from the experimental projects. Yes, there was talk of that to combat what Lucifer was developing... mainly what was done with me. Worried it would happen again, obviously they've been tinkering as well. I don't see it as much of a success though... you're pretty damn pathetic when it comes to Angels."
His murky gray aura exploded to life. Small streaks of blood red energy coursed along his body as he focused his own raw energy into the cannons above. "Your "son" is beginning to irk me..."

....Fallen Witness.
*It was only two words, but was it a reply or more babble? Xol would probably find out if he asked kindly what she meant by "witness". Experimental Nana was indeed, but to counter Lucifer, Xol was so very far off. Nana only had been taught basic hand to hand combat, but nothing more, her kind was never meant to fight afterall. So "pathetic"? In terms of battle ability yes, in terms of agressiveness yes, but those weren't values Nana held to be imortant about herself and so they were never developed. Nana was a gentle spirit, disliked fighting, disliked pain being inflicted on herself and others, loved children, loved those around her, loved her friends and family holding them close. Xol could only see a failed war experiment, he didn't know what she really was and that wasn't all to spectacular, but he'd find that out for himself if the proper questions were asked*
..........son.
*But wife, Mastema's wife? That sort of information opened new doors of questioning and possible torment for her. What kind of person was it that Mastema had really married? What kind of monster might this woman be, to be able to stomach the evil that only Mastema could produce? The uttered word "Fallen", meant that Nana wasn't with heaven, but that she had left it, so why did she still look so damned heavenly? It seemed a controdiction to the term. If only Nana could have used the teleportation device, but it was removed when her robes were, along with several other items on or hidden within the robe. It was sort of funny, no one had ever noticed Nana's wedding ring no matter how many times they had met her. They could be staring right at it and still it wouldn't register, how illusive*

*Depending on the strength of the beams, they might be reflected. Drunkard Shade was a low level counter technique Than had developed to reflect small beams of energy, and these lasers were no exception. The wall cracking was something Than had not expected, becuase he hadn't even done anything yet. Was it really this easy? did he just have to overload the walls with energy and they would break? Eitherway, Than wouldn't test that now* This is... as far.... as I come.... *Than threw his left hand onto the symbol and let the chaotic energy seep throughout the aura he'd created. The energy he'd put into the wall would now rupture violently, and, seeing how ust putting regular aura into the wall cracked it, would most likely disintegrate the wall entirely. But just how much energy could Than spare?*
