Yah!!! Clarinets Rule!!

I am going to be a sophomore at Clearwater Valley High School this year and I am the section leader of the clarinets. I fell in love with it 6 years ago, and will never leave it! It was love at first sight heart

I am a senior at Slidell High. I have been playing the clarinet for, um...eight years now. Wow...doesn't seem that long. Time flies! Anywho, my band director just got in a brand new Eb clarinet, & I get to play it!!!!
YAY!!!
It's absolutely adorable! heart I love it! heart

But it came with this horrible mouthpiece. When I put it together to play, the mouthpice wiggled around as I played it, making the sound horrible. I used electric tape on it just to hold it still. And the only reed it came with was a 1 1/2.
I'm used to playing a 3 1/2! My director's making me buy a new mouthpiece ($100)& reeds, even though it's a school owned instrument. (rental fee is $40) If I have to go through all that, I wanna keep the little thing! Sheesh.

I am a sophmore in a hick-ruled world (PA) and I've been playing the clarinet for seven years now. I'm a co-section leader because our section leader is waaaay to lazy to get anything done. xd

I love the clarinet... it is my life.

Hello everybody! I have been playing clarinet for about 5 years I think.. sweatdrop I'm too lazy to really look back and count the years. Anyway, I'm a sophomore and I am also the clarinet section leader. I heart the clarinet so much! I hope next year my clarinet section will be too big for me to handle since there are only 9 people so far. ahh if only others could truly admire the greatness of the clarinet.

Hey guys, I'm a senior at Loara High School (its the closest high school to Disneyland) I've been playing clarinet for 6 years now and own 4, yes 4, of them. My most recent one is my professional R-13 with cork pads, silver plated keys, 2 barrels (chadash and Moening), and 2 mouthpieces (M-15 and M-14 Vandorens). I use 4 1/2 V-12 Vandoren reeds (just cuz 56s are the same, just with a slimmer base) and use a silver optimum ligature. I'm trying to sell my E-11 clarinet (great condition, just had it cork padded, wood, no cracks or scratches, mouthpiece and case included) for $400, seeing as its about $700 retail. Anyone interested, PM me.

Hi everyone! I've been playing the clarinet for a little more than 3 years. I'm a freshman in The Woodlands Marching Band. ^__^ We is very cool. I was in the contest show (about 30 people don't make it) but a new Junior girl moved in, challenged me, and won. So I lost my spot. Now I'm a prop person. crying

Hello, Clarineteers! I'm Jen and I'm a sophmore clarinet player in the West Scranton HS marching band. And umm... That's pretty much it. Lol.

Oh yeah, and I've been playing the clarinet since I was 8... that would make it about 7 and a half years.

Hmmm... I have an E-11... I march with it xp

The one I use for orchestra/band would be my LeBlanc Concertino II. It's supposed to be equivalent to a Buffet vintage's sound... 3nodding I liked it more than the R-13, since the basic R-13 is rather overated... sweatdrop

Ahh! I have a problem! Help, pleas. =O
Well my clarinets foam paddings at the bottom keys fell off and were replaced the other day. Inspite of that my clarinet is still hard to play when i press down on the bottom keys and the sharp key. (The long button on the back of the clarinet, not sure of it's exact name.) Does anyone know what the problem might be? Should i just rent a clarinet for the time being, becuase i think about every song we play in band so far has highnotes. xD Help, comments, would be appreciated. <3

hmmm....I use to have that problem I think! A few months ago, my clarinet was acting very weird. When I played in the second octave my register key (isn't it called that?) wouldn't close or anything, well i mean it wouldn't go back to it's original state, it was like i was still pressing the register when i wasn't. Even though its fun to play high notes sometimes i didn't want my clarinet to stay like that... sweatdrop maybe it has an air leak? Or go over to a music store or something and tell them whats wrong with your clarinet ^_^

I'm not much help in this area though...i've only been playing for a year sweatdrop
