"Unless What's-His-Face doesn't know. Truth serum will get you no where if he doesn't know the answer. He can tell us what he beleives or what he wants, but not what he doesn't know. Minions who don't know anything of the higher ups are both a liability and an asset - an asset because if questioned, like this, they know nothing and a liability because the ones with a brain quit, if they can, or try to find out... and the ones who try neither of those options are usually too stupid to think for themselves, anyway." He stretched back, taking another bite of his skinless peach. It was actually amusing to lay out different options and possibilities, almost as if it were some sort of game, and some part of himself admitted that he had actually gotten pretty good at it from overhearing everything his father talked about with the high-ups (which mainly meant the current prince's uncle figure or one of his men, since Alti and everyone else, for that matter, very rarely saw Aoi).

"I just need to find out if Xel is telling the truth or not," Haar said with a quirked brow. "I highly doubt his father, if this whole thing is indeed true, would tell him everything- that would be stupid, and if Xel is anything like his father then I assume he is anything but an idiot."

Haar shrugged, "Nonetheless I'll try to get some spies sent to the ice kingdom and track information about this supposed man that Xel claims to be the son of. I don't know if we'll uncover anything but at least I can say I tried."

Ceris looked up with a pleasant smile, looking frightfully opptimistic as he held up a small glass of the cooled, misty sort of gel-like potion. "Well, why don't we test out theories right now? It's ready and I'm sure Xel is still partly numb from Allora's treatment," the mage murmured, carefully holding the glass in both hands as he walked towards the others.

He eyed the truth serum. He was, unfortunately, rather well aquanted with the stuff. His mother had sometimes used it on him - mixed with something else, of course - when she suspected him of doing something she didn't approve of. The stuff tasted horrid, despite anything it might be mixed with, and he shuddered slightly distastefully.

Peyton once more looked rather sour that he was being left out of the seemingly exciting happenings once more- not to mention Haar had apparently decided to muse over last night's activites with him later. With the commander's schedule the blonde figured it would be much later. Finishing off his cookie, Peyton watched the trio leave with a sigh, flopping back against the less than comfortable cot as he muttered to himself.

Once more it didn't take long to get to the dungeons. Ceris quickly forced the serum down Xel's throat, after one sip of the foul stuff he had begged not to be put through such torture again. The slender mage merely rolled his eyes and used certain measures tp make sure it was all consumed. "There, that wasn't that bad, now was it?" He asked with a cheerful little smile, straightening up from his crouched position, now empty glass in hand.

"It was worse than Haar's cooking," Xel muttered, brown eyes lowering with a sudden ancious expression. Ceris's smile faultered, "What's wrong?" He asked, setting the glass down on the stone floor as he pushed strands of muave hair from his eyes. With an almost understanding expression, and a slight flush, Ceris leaned down and smiled, "Don't worry, he's not going to ask you anything...about...us," he murmured, gently brushing dark hair from dark eyes. Turning purple eyes towards the slightly miffed looking commander, Ceris glared, "Right, Haar?"

The young man coughed into his hand, "Wouldn't even dream of asking such a thing," he muttered before his expression grew serious. "What is your full name, Xel?" He asked, leaning against the wall adjacent to the prone man. The addressed man looked up, "Xel Nieve Leon."

"Any siblings?"
"No."
"Your father's and mother's full name?"
"Edmund Mantec Leon and Tierria Cesta, before she married my father."
"Why did you come to the fire nation?"
Xel looked thoughtful for a moment before answering, "My father made me believe it was a good idea."
"Did your father threaten to kill Ceris if you did not follow his orders?"
"Yes."
"Why in hell didn't you tell me?" Haar demanded upon knowing, red eyes blazing.
"He has spies," was the man's simple answer.

After a series of questions Haar condluded that Xel had indeed been telling the truth, and although he had expressed that he was finished with his questioning he asked one more with a vengeful grin. "Have you ever sle-" The commander earned a generous smack to the side of his head from the mage. "Don't you even say it," Ceris hissed, eyes flashing as Haar nursed his beaten head.

Alti listened with interest. He almost laughed when Ceris hit Haar, but turned that into a cough hidden behind a hand. It was... interesting. He wasn't sure what he would have done in that sort of situation - not that he would ever have to decide, since he had no one particularly close to him. His family was simply... there and anyone who tried murduring the most prominent healers in the Nation was in for hell from every one of the kingdoms - including their own.

[[*snort* Taaaaatoooo<3 This CerisxXel and Haar stuff is cracking me up xD. Mind you, it is very sweet, but still. ]]

He was being silly. Narcissa was nine; she didn't even know a thing about being romantically involved with another. She just liked to flirt incessantly. And Treza... Treza was far, far too young to think up even liking a boy. Girls her age were obsessed with these absurd things called 'cooties'. Truth be told, Faryn couldn't condemn Jillian with a fair mind. It just irked him to no end to see the diplomat getting cozy with his family. It wasn't as if the other had done anything to sway his affection, if there in fact was any to sway.

"I... I don't care!" he lied, shaking his head. "I didn't ask you to follow me, either. And I didn't ask you to take Cal from my sister either." He sniffed slightly and brought his black eyes up to look at Jillian, letting Whitley take a few steps back from Cal so that the horses didn't get in a nipping fight. "You ought to take him back[[the horse]]. I..." he faltered, frowning. Why was he at a loss for words again? Usually he always had a quick wit and sharp tongue!

Crouching down to Xel's level Haar whispered, "Was it any good? Were you on top?" He asked with a sneaky sort of expression. Xel looked confused as to what the younger man was blabbering about. "Was what good? I'm...of what was I...what?" Glancing up at the others for some sort of explanation, the usually quick witted man sighed as he recieved nothing but an enraged glare from the mage and ...was that...who was-? Oh well. He knew truth serum essentially numbed your mind to make it...loose, he supposed that was a good term for the description and he figured it also made thinking things through a tad bit harder than usual.

Ceris immediately kicked Haar from behind, not enough to actually hurt him but enough to topple him over, "Of course he was you idiot, can you please just shut up about-" The mage stopped short, a sudden streak of red painting his pale features as he realized what he had just yelled out to the commander as well as a relatively innocent looking Xel.

"What did we do? What is he tal-?"
Ceris shook his head, holding a hand up to his temple as he muttered curses under his breath. "...I cannot believe we're discussing my intima-...I just cannot believe it...."

Haar slowly stood up with a scowl, "Geez, I was just wondering."
Ceris threw his hands up into the air, "You know what? We're through, are we not? We're done, right? Exactly, question time is over and I think I'll be seeing you two later," he muttered, accentuating each word by stabbing Haar in the chest with his finger, "I.will.see.you.later." And with that the young mage muttered some sort of cleansing spell over the almost drugged looking man to get rid of the lasting numb feeling before dragging him to his feet by his collar and leaving with a rather confused Xel (of course not before another solid kick, this time to Haar's shin, just for good measure).

Haar smiled as he turned to Alti," I think that went well."

He nodded, eyes drifting downward again. He climed off the horse, running a hand absently through his long mane. He like horses, but wasn't feeling particularly pleasant right now... How could Faryn always manage to make him feel worse about himself than his own father had ever managed? With his father there had always been the wall of fear, resentment and pain to hide Jillian's feeling away in the locked box he kept burried deep inside himself. But he had no such walls with the prince in front of himself. "I'm sorry," he said again, bowing deeply. "You're right. I'll go take him back. And you needn't bother comming to tea today. I'm sure you have much more pressing matters to attend to," he said. His voice remained soft, although it was edged with bitterness. Faryn's packing had not gone unnoticed by him, just as it had not been unnoticed by Faryn's brother ((forgot how to spell his name >.>;; )) and he doubted now that he had ever intended to meet Jillian. He lead Cal away at a regular pace, this time careful not to trip while in the other's vision.

Alti grinned. "At least it means you can give him," he pointed at Haar, "hell if he ever gets enough of a life to have a sex life," he said, grinning slightly, as he followed the others out the door. "And yet, somehow, I can't seem to see that happening..." he said thoughtfully. "Haar having a sex life, I mean. I can see perfectly you making fun of him for something or other." He hadn't actually talked this way - person-to-person - for years... but it was much more comfortable than the formalities he had always kept up.

Haar frowned, one red eye twitching slightly, "I-...I have a life, just because my work has keeps me busy for the most part doesn't mean I don't have a life," he muttered, trying to defend himself for the most part, folding lean arms across his chest. "Why is that so hard to imagine anyway, you little twit?" He continued, turning his darkening gaze towards Alti with a huff.

Ceris looked relieved, "Maybe if you got laid you'd be less stressed," he murmured thoughtfully towards the young commander, whose hand was starting to glow a lovely shade of red, much like the color of his eyes. "I mean, it's just a rumor but I'm sure it has some truth to it," the mage continued with a vengeful look in his eyes as he ruffled the brown haired man's hair. "Oh, but I'm sure you wouldn't like being Mr. Bottom now would you, Shay? Are you nervous? Don't be nervous," he continued with a grin.

Haar simply glared at the mage before snapping, "I'm going to castrate you in your sleep, you, you, and you," he hissed at all three of them, pointing at each in turn. Xel simply stared at Haar as if he had lost his mind, brown eyes glassy. Ceris sighed, pulling the older man by the hand, "I think I may have given him too much potion. I'll just have to detoxify him," he explained, heading off towards his quarters instead of the training hall.

"Don't come looking for me or I'll kill you!" The mage said in a singsong voice, leaving Haar to merely glare his worst at Alti.

Alti smiled back at Haar, completely unfased. "Pleasant, aren't you," he remarked dryly. He was all too used to death glared from his many cousins, uncles, aunts... everyone who thought him a disapointment, which was pretty much the whole kingdom. "Anyway. You want to get back to that room... make sure Edward isn't risking himself by trying to move his finger much more strenuously than anyone has a right."

Haar lowered his gaze, "Not really, but I guess that would be selfish of me to leave him in there. I wish I could just get that poor knight he locked up last night to help him out. I think it would be rather amusing, I'm sure Peyton would be utterly mortified," he murmured with a smirk. He needed something to lift his spirits. Quite pleased with the idea Haar had it set up that the young knight turned guard would be exempt of his duties for the day and try out the 'servile end of the spectrum,' as how he put it, basically keeping Peyton sane...and yet not giving him all the cokkies he could eat. That would be very bad. He figured the blonde would be very upset with him...but Peyton wasn't supposed to be walking for another few days and by that time he wouldn't dare try to oppose the young man for the festival was coming up and Peyton was aiming on going.

"You'd better make sure he doesn't get up for anything more than the bathroom," Alti said dryly. "Knowing Mum, she'll have tagged him. That's um... it's... like a charm. It means she'll know when he tries to strain himself or... walk. And, depending on the strength of the tag, why. It was not at all a pleasant experience to be sick at home. Healers are more concerned with... life threatening stuff. So I had to tough it out, but it wasn't allowed to do anything. I had even less freedom than usual, which is saying something."

Oh, an illusion for themselves? The possibilities of what he could end up looking like ran through his head like wildfire. A merchant sailor. A common folk! Of course, he wouldn't want the image to continue for much longer than to get them out, but enough for the thrill of being another to run its coarse.

"I know you don't use a saddle, but you may want to use at least a blanket if you're going to be calling your horse to you now," Dax suggested, moving to a tied and ready horse. He didn't want Sayael's companion becomming ill from just a friendly ride. The blonde placed his hand on his horse's white nose, matching the rest of its snowy white hide. The beast's eyes stood out in a piercingly bright red and both its mane and tail had streaks of silver.

Haar looked momentarily concerned. "And how long would this 'tag' last?" He asked, frowning slightly. Although he was incredibly grateful for the woman's help the young man was not fond of charms and the like, being placed on others without his knowledge. "And what would happen anyway if he tried to walk?" He questioned, thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to at least tell his apprentice about the charm that may or may have not been placed on him.
