"Vorpal!" Alice yelped, having missed most of the exchange between the Honedge and the Blitzle. "What the-- oh, we're fighting now?" she remarked, rubbing her temples. "Alrighty, then... next time, let me know what we're doing," Alice murmured, somewhere between irate and amused. She was afraid of hurting a Pokemon like she had the Ledyba, but... well, she did need to get stronger. Alice nodded to Vorpal, glancing at the panicking Blitzle, clearly caught off guard. "Just.. use Shadow Sneak."
Vorpal's eye lit up. Apparently, he wasn't be punished! Not that she would have, but... well, she was still soft and compassionate. Hopefully, more fighting would harden her heart... though hopefully not too much. He admired her kindness. >On it!< he called back, sending his shadow out to assault the flailing Blitzle in a Shadow Sneak.
>YOU CAN DO IT, MISTER STABBERS< Another member of the cheering squad.
The flames still assaulted the Poochyena, licking at his fur. Still, as painful as it felt, his attack succeeded, lowering the Litleo's defense. He grinned through the fire, pleased. Battles were a long, slow game about enduring what you could, and dishing it out when it was possible. But for now, he needed to avoid another attack. He bounced back in a dodge, watching for whatever would happen next.

-1 to Lily's defense! Poochyena takes 2 DMG!

(Thanks, I hope my luck turns around for this return trip)
Stepping back into the heat, it was almost enough to make Hiro turn and run away. The hot art was bad in the cavern, but coming from heat to more heat ...especially when it seemed to literally lace the air. It was bad ....horribly bad.
Hiro would take a deep breathe, a bad idea, as he would start to cough and then start forward.
His pokemon had it hard when they battle, but the trainer had it worst when they could not.
His job was simple and difficult at the same time.
He was to safely get him and his pokemon home.

A Geodude rested peacefully in the sun, completely content with the blisteringly hot weather. After all, it was all she knew. She completely ignored Hiro in favor of catching some rays.

It would be a common agreement, for Hiro didn't even bat a eye at her. He would walk pass and continued on his journey back to the shore. It was not his favor moment in his career as a trainer, but as far as he was concern. It could have been worst, so much worst.
Thus, he simply walked pass with his eyes on the horizon as he headed away from this hot place.

The shining sun seemed to burn bright and hotter with each step. Though, Hiro ignored it ...his goal was the ocean, and he tried to tune his senses to catch even the faintest of ocean breezes.
Though for now, all he got was a suffocating heat that ...made him want to shed his clothing. But, with no pokemon to help, he could thing of other things he might need his clothing for besides ....dropping into the crack and dry ground.
He could only hope, that it would not become necessary.

No matter how unfortunate one may feel, there's almost always someone who has it worse. Hiro would come across a half-scorched dead body-- from the size of it, it seemed to be a student trainer that hadn't been nearly so lucky. Perhaps he'd been a victim of another Pokemon, or maybe he'd gotten into an altercation with another trainer that had ended poorly-- perhaps he'd even run into the former Scourge of the Area. As it was, the scene was grotesque-- the top half had been charred and blackened, while this bottom half was fairly intact. A pack lay at his side, apparently having been dislodged in some kind of incident

The sight should have made him cringe, but he only shook his head. It was a trainer's worst nightmare to end up traveling though a pokemon infested land without their pokemon to protect them. It was simply bad luck that this one seemed to have run into something that he couldn't escape from.
It was a sad fate, which was made even sadder by the fact that no one would know this trainer's true fate.
This alone made him stop, because, it was never wise to stay in an area where death is obvious. The backpack stood out the most as he went to inspect it first, and not so much for the items within, but for some form of identification.
Hiro knew from personal experience, how horrible it is to have someone you care for simply disappear and you never know their fate. It was something more horrible and heart rending then their deaths, at least you could surrender your false hopes and fears.
Thus, he would inspect the bag.

Apparently, whoever this trainer had been, he was a bit of a packrat. The bag was filled to the brim with all kinds of junk, and very little of it useful. Rags, bits of plastic, used gum... he'd have to look carefully to see if he could find anything worth salvaging.
Hiro would look at the trash as he pulled it out of the pack. The rags looked hopeful, but the majority of the stuff would identify the fallen no better than anything else. The thought to just take the entire bag chime in his head, but, he didn't want to add any unnecessary weight. So he continued his search for something smaller and something that might actually be useful to him or to identify this triainer.

Kiani watched, Lily shook off most of it but the leer attack still effected her. "Lily, use fire spin again." Kiani said.
Hiro would get his wish... somewhat. He'd find what could only be described as a trainer card-- dented, bent, a worse for the wear, but still a trainer card. Unfortunately, when it came to actually identifying the trainer... there was a thick layer of something grotesque and blue smeared and caked across where the name would be. As for what that blue gunk was... a half an Oran Berry would roll out right after the card. Everything else in the bag was too burnt, too frayed, or too useless.
[Gained x1 Berry-Smeared Trainer Card! Gained x1 Half an Oran Berry!]
A half of a Oran berry rolled at his feet, and though, he wasn't sure if it would be useful or not. Hiro would scoop it up and place it inside of his own bag, and as for the ID card. He cared nothing about a name, but the picture ...that was worth a thousand words as he would pocket it.
He would make sure he gave it to his Professor. Hopefully it would help bring this case to a close and for a final measure.
Hiro would take out the camera and snap a picture of the body. He was trying his best to leave as little to chance or his need to explain as possible.
As far as he was concern, he had done enough by going through the backpack, so he didn't want to have to explain what shape he found the body in. With that thought in mind, he would start off once more.
