********. He was in so much trouble. He watched listlessly as Maebe fought tears, as she cursed over and over. It wasn't the end, right? He could fix it, right? If he was careful like she said. Or maybe if he stayed away from.... His forehead connected harshly with Maebe's. Otto barely saw the blood, or the black in her eyes, as Sasha shoved him aside and clawed at Maebe. He froze as he held his head, not believing what he was seeing. Sasha was supposed to be his friend. They'd been through so much. And... was it true? Had she just wanted him for the key in his hand? And had he really given Maebe shitty attitude over her? She only wanted what was best. He was such an a**. His heart sunk. He felt guilty. He felt betrayed. He needed to stop Sasha, but using Tenya would risk hurting Maebe. Why was this happening? In the middle of a ruined mall, where defenceless people were in trouble and needing help? Where a terrible beast might be lurking far below. "CUT IT OUT!" Otto finally snapped back, running at Sasha and hooking his arms under hers from behind.

Her blood thudded in her ears, a thick and viscous beat turned to sludge by the long-dormant power she hadn't known she could tap into. There was a pain that started at her very core, one that made her feel as though she were burning from the inside out - but she ignored it, because she was so close to Maebe now, and she wanted nothing more than to dig her thumbs into the other woman's eyes and press until they pleasantly popped beneath the pressure. She wanted to rip the woman's venomous tongue from her mouth so that Maebe could never, never sway Otto the key, the key, the key - and there were so many yet to collect, so many locks that needed unlocking, so many colors but Otto was here, and the key was red, and it was hers, so close and yet -- She tore her arms free from Otto and shoved her elbow back with enough force to send him reeling if it connected -- and then she was on Maebe again, a wild thing driven by the most primitive urge to protect her prize, to keep it safe and close to her -- "It's mine," she hissed, reaching out again to claw at Maebe's face, her throat, her eyes, those eyes.

It's mine. "I ******** knew it." Maebe growled, barely able to stay standing after the weight of Sasha's attacks began to tear down on her. Whatever was in her blood made her more powerful by the second, which meant if Maebe wasn't quick, she would be dead. She tried to pry Sasha away from her, but all she managed was a series of jabs that never really put enough space between them before those claws were back against her shield. Thaw was roaring - ROARING, God bless him, that she needed to use him, but she wasn't listening. This was all she could do, anymore. Sasha had given up a lot more than her body to that Vivienne woman, and now it was all coming out in spades, directed solely at Maebe. What a target she'd painted on herself, from all of this. Taym would be proud. "IT is standing right behind you," She tried to remind Sasha, even though both of them knew the woman wasn't talking about Otto, anymore. "And he belongs to no one." She shoved the woman off one final time, and stumbled back, dropping down onto her a**. Her body sung with pain, one final warning that she was out of her league. "Especially not some second class body snatcher like you." If she was about to go, she was going to go big. "PS? Vivienne's hotter." Goodbye, world. It had seemed like the best idea, at the time, to put a little bit of space between herself and Maebe. Not for Cami's sake, of course, because space was something she abhorred unless it was the starry cosmos kind. Twirling her umbrella like this was nothing more than a summer shower back home the dark-skinned Sun had gone inspecting the camp to see if there were any stragglers. Knowing monsters the way she did (which wasn't even very well, really) there was probably some tentacle or hand that had peeled off of Barry to come back after them. There was a minor glint in her eye at the unattended jewelers across the shadowed, slick arcade but she turned away. Maebe probably wouldn't have appreciated more diamonds right now anyway. There had to be a bookstore around here or...she could probably just wait for another day and buy her ex a self-help book. Maybe she'd like that. Rounding the camp back to where she'd left her victorious sweetheart she saw Otto rushing into what looked like Maebe in a serious cat fight with another woman she'd never met. Otto was grabbing the unknown woman which might have meant Maebe didn't start it? Or did she? Part of her wanted to rush in and put herself in front of the Moon Hunter. Instead she stood there, dumbly, and watched.

lizbot From: Rep To: America If they are knocked out when it manifests it seems to set it back to reset for whatever reason. Only hunters. The humans just succumb to it, I don't know why some succumb slower than others but they are all ******** in the end. I don't know why they don't have more antidote. I don't know. I don't ******** know. I just know my orders. If you weaken the shield it jars them out sometimes too. Sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't. I don't know how long Harrison will be ok. I'm alone here if something happens.

There was a sound to his left and he turned. The set sound of feet slapping further off echoing around him. The drip drip drip of water overhead falling from the sky and catching the light from flashlights and framing dark bodies before the darkness flooded again and they were lost to him in the sea.
......thousand enemies............
They called to friends. They cared to those they loved. They wanted these people - at the expense of others. Rin had friends, but those friends had not been there for her when she needed them. They barely mourned. She was a blink in their eyes, a presence and a distraction until a new warm body came by.
Their value was nothing. His was nothing. He was someone's stepping stone to get across a river of fire.
...................all the world.........your enemy.....
It was cold yet he felt hot in the face and as he shook, he held Saliva out and fired into the dark.
...........all the world......
Again it came, slashing against his shield in the dark, and he stumbled and fell to all fours. The water soaked into his khakis about chilled his skin, and water dripped down from his wet hair. He summoned Saliva again, rising up and looking about.
The water on his glasses made everything skewed and the lights of flashlight white and green mixed and twisted.

Oliver's axe clanged roughly off the armoured monster's hide as he took his turn, and it was an ineffectual strike at best. It was getting hard to see, the water from the sprinklers had plastered his hair across his face, and all he had to wipe his eyes with was the wet sleeve of his coat. It was not yet soaking through, but tiny rivulets ran down his collar and into the sleeves. Had he not already been shaking from fear in the dark, the chill would have gotten him. The scared boy was beyond being able to focus on the announcements that played sporadically in the dark. Had his companions said something then, he might not even noticed. Isaac very gingerly removed the bandage from his head. It hadn't done much, really, and truthfully he hadn't really noticed the woman's attempt at first. He gave her a big, you've made such a difference smile and a warm, "Thank you." Nellie had his attention once more, and Isaac gave a low, thoughtful hum. Rep's announcements were becoming more and more serious, and Isaac wasn't entirely certain how he felt about traipsing around the mall with Nellie again, considering how ill-prepared they were. "Do you think we should gather supplies? Or perhaps stay here, just in case?" Though, quite honestly, it didn't seem any safer in here than it would out there. baby_gwing you absolutely do :3 he 2 cute

Body shaking, his shuddering voice was loud in his own ears. It was around and each hunter was now distant, possibly escaping and leaving him behind. They weren't allies here. They were just someone willing to step on you to get to safety. A barrier against danger.
He fired again and felt another slash against his sheild but as he turned to look, there was nothing. What was he even fighting anymore?

lizbot Everyone. EVERYONE. Is too far gone in here on the civilian front, unless they are given the antidote that's it, game over. Every ******** person in here is doomed. That's the point. This isn't a rescue mission, it's a DAMAGE CONTROL. The ones getting out with the antidote are the EXCEPTION. Any of the medics who have been briefed know that, their focus should rightly be on the hunters. Bringing me the civilians is damage control, I am trying to take the power supply away from the thing that's ******** right under our feet. This isn't the first place this s**t has happened. It's happened in bigger places than this mall, we can't AFFORD to save all these people. I've done a LOT of these missions. This isn't Moon's area, your area on this mission is protecting HUNTERS. They are all that's salvageable. This probably isn't what you want to hear but its the situation. I am not enjoying myself, I am not having fun. I am not ok. But I am doing my job.

It? Did she just... refer to him as.... an it? The pain of the elbow to his stomach was one thing. The hurt in his heart and ego? Bigger. Sasha didn't like him. Wasn't a friend. He was just her key. He held his stomach, his face wrought with grim acceptance and disappointment. He was hurt. But the world kept turning. Maebe was in danger. Tenya was summoned, and Otto reeled an arm back to whack the dark haired woman in the back of the head. However, partway through the swing, an injury stung him, and his strength gave out. The knock to the back of her head was nothing more than an annoyance. Blood - her blood - had stained the front of her shirt, her lips - she looked like a madwoman, crazed with those black, black eyes. The thudding in her head grew louder, louder, louder and Sasha sobbed, withdrawing from Maebe completely before clutching her head. Falling to her knees, Sasha very ungracefully slumped to the side with a whimper - out like a light, her eyes still open just the slightest, unseeing and almost lifeless. Her breathing was quick and shallow, but it was very obvious that Sasha was down and out for the count. Down she went.
Maebe sat there for a moment, waiting for some kind of stage two to emerge from her body and start attacking anew. When nothing came, Maebe started to crawl towards her, and edged her arm towards Sasha's neck to feel her pulse while staying as far away from her as possible.
Still ******** my life." Maebe sighed out, crumbling down to lie there and recuperate herself. "Zombies, they said. Come to the mission, you'll fight zombies, like a boss. Nobody wrote about this in the brochure. I want my money back."
