"Damn it, miscalculated! Eject those shells, now!"
The emergency ejection system discharged the hot shells before anything else went wrong, and the guns would take a minute to cool down. But that was time they did not have at the moment.
"s**t... we need that field down before whatever the hell they're doing is finished. R.I.O.T. Eight, double time. Concentrate everything you've got at that shielding! Try to take it out in one shot!"
The current squad captain grimaced and said, "We sure as hell will give it a shot, but we're kind of busy. We've got time for one spell before we have to get back to work on this new problem here, so we'll try and make it good."
The five of them began to store up energy for what would hopefully be a single, decisive blow against the shielding. If they got a few shots in before those airships were done doing what they were doing, it might mess something up in their inner workings.
**
"One down. Apparently, more to go... what the hell is this all about?"
Well wasn't this a surprise. Another round of shielding, and that obelisk was getting more menacing by the moment. They had to do something about this too, or else whatever this thing was would activate, and who knew what the hell would commence?
Changing colors... wait, that gave him an idea.
"All units, load up. I want you to time your shots on my go. Wind Rounds chambered, silencers on."
He had to guess the right one, or something bad would happen. As usual.
"Wait for it... steady..."
He saw a color that he figured would be the one he needed.
"Fire!"
They shot all at once...
**
Underground, it wasn't that simple. The Penetrators had worked splendidly, miniature bunker busters tearing the tunneling forces apart. But of course as soon as the gas line was hit, one of the men instinctively tossed down another portable shield just before the blast came into their territory.
"That got some of 'em," he shouted, "Now let's take care of the rest! Rockets reload!"
The demolitions men got another one set. Gas line or no, they had to stop them here!
"Shielding holding. Steady... fire!"
They fired again. Hopefully, this would end the underground threat.

.....[OoC]: "Not really sure how to get into this, but I had a feeling a champion of the holy may be capable of helping...?"
.....Having finally come within visual perception of Aekea, Aurorion Trition could see that the unholy invasion had already gotten well underway. He had been warned of such a possibility, but had hoped against hope that the siege would not be too advanced by the time of his arrival. .....He was still nearly two miles out from the site of invasion, but he was also airborne, mounted 'pon the back of his winged reptilian, Faramor.

The attack had the desired effect, but it only took down that color. There were still six more if they wanted to completely disable the barrier, and it had already cycled to the next color. But time had run out. The obelisk burst with a violet light that spread out and engulfed the mages. They screamed in agony as their souls were ripped from their bodies. The air suddenly shuddered with a concussion shockwave as a massive amount of energy was released, destroying the obelisk and the remains of the mages. Standing in its shattered remains was a human figure, six-feet six-inches, with a toned body, long white hair, and black pits for eyes. They had summoned an aspect of their deity, Darshendros! If that wasn't bad enough, Draconis III and Vengeance completed their merging, and the massive airship began to transform. Sections split apart as arms and legs formed, the main hull twisting around to form the semblance of a torso. It was both horrifying and magnificent to look upon at the same time. It was the true form of the Draconis. "Captain, without the Vecna's components, we won't have enough power to maintain the ******** it," Captain Starrow said, "This thing can deal out as much damage as it can take. Besides, they should be running out of ammunition by now." "Krik here," came a voice over the intercom, "We are standing by to initiate maneuvers." "On my command, raise Hell." And in the sewers, it was just one big explosion - too big for such close quarters. The ceiling caved in as the streets collapsed on top of them all.

The security chief cursed softly. "Well damn... do we have anything that can punch through that?"
His advisor stared at it for a good while before saying, "Those FAEs could still be of use, but I don't know how much. I got a communication from the mage team- that dispel is ready."
He nodded and said, "Tell them to use it, now. Are the guns ready?"
"They're set to fire again."
Well then, there was a chance to set things in motion. "We'll time the next volley with their spell. With any luck, that shielding will go down and we'll be able to put a hurting on 'em at the same time. I want a line to Aekea AFB, tell them to get the asset ready."
"Yes sir."
The chief noded again. "All guns, stand by..."
The mages executed their spell, which had been shoring up energy for a while now. If this didn't take out that displacement field, or at least weaken it signifigantly, then they were in all different sorts of trouble.
**
Trouble was already down in the streets.
"Damn it! Take cover!"
The explosion happened almost a split second after they scrambled to get behind something, and pieces of stone shattered and hurled in all sorts of directions. Of course, when the dust settled, the Captain did not like what he saw.
"Crap... is this day gonna get any better? We got another creep here."
His scanners however, identified exactly what kind of being he was. He saw, finally, a window of opportunity.
"All units, mag change. Light Rounds on all guns, suppessors off. They won't do any good anyway. Let's give this guy a warm welcome on my mark."
Quickly, they changed ammunition and took the cans off of the muzzles. Within seconds, it was time to party. "All units waiting for go, sir."
The captain peered through his sights and said, "Welcome to Aekea, you b*****d. Fire!"

Suddenly!A massive blue and white vortex of energy erupted and pulsed out of the sky over Aekea moments before a huge black object hurtled out of the rift, barreling straight towards the massive flying form hovering over the city. All weapons fire at will!! The main guns of the Obsidianus fired with terrible force, the anti-magical projectile screaming across the five or so miles in seconds before detonating nearby the mighty form in the sky, the AMP washing over the entire form, or at least the whole side facing the mighty warship. Moments after the first shell had fired, two more thunderous blasts shot from the Central Canon on the Obsidianus. These were a wind and light round, in that order. The first round would aim to slam into the (now unprotected) hull of the mighty weapon, as the second exploded with terrible force over the center of the city, the positive energy eradicating the undead and negative energy of the beings throughout the city with one massive pulse... But that wasn't all. The turrets around the Central Canon began to spin, glowing with energy as golden yellow blasts of energy began to fire from the Main Rotary Canons of the mighty airship as more and more energy began to spark and glow around the front of the mighty flying fortress. The smaller bursts would slam into the surface of the floating enemy construct as searing hot plasma, boiling away layers of most types of armor like tissue paper, eating into the very heart of the massive vessel. As the Obsidianus continued towards the city, the smaller canons across its form lit up and blast after blast of artillery fire rocketed from them, screaming towards the enemy target before exploding on the weakened side, surrounding the vessel in a cloud of fire, light, anti-magical, and earth type explosions. The earth rounds would petrify the armor of the vessel, turning it to stone rather than its hardened magical armor. The fire rounds would obliterate the weakened structures of rock with terrible incinerating force, and the light rounds would purify and destroy any and all undead they came into contact with... But the final volley would be the most destructive, the golden yellow energy crackling around the main Rotary Canon as its energy built up to a critical level, and with a mighty blast of plasma energy that arced out from the front of the Obsidianus, it discharged a massive bolt of plasma that would speed across the expanse between the two vessels and hit the enemy target with terrible force, and enough heat to boil away most armor to metallic vapor, and or do a massive energy drain to any sort of shielding either magical or anti-magical due to its energetic state destabilizing the area around it. Streamers would spread back around the shields of the Obsidianus, creating an aurora effect from the fields interacting with one another. As the massive volley from the airship halted, the vessel would continue to speed towards its target, readying for battle against its first ever foe... But one thing was for certain... The cavalry had arrived...

((This is to happen after everyone else posts... because I can't wait any longer.)) The Draconis was caught completely off guard by the sudden appearance and violent barrage by the other ship, and was struck with direct hits that carved open much of its torso section, revealing the mechanical innards of the massive construct. As a result of the force from the blasts and explosions, Draconis fell toward the earth, threatening to crush everything caught underneath it. But not before it would get off a shot of its own. Vengeance made up the majority of its right arm, and with its main cannon charged, it fired back at the ship with maximum power. If the enemy airship failed to take any damage, its living crew members would at least be decimated in number, unless they were heavily protected as well. "Brace for impact!" "Sir, we have multiple hull breaches, fires on multiple decks, and we're losing pressure in sections two, three, five and seven." "What the hell was that?!" "We've lost stabilizers! We're going down, sir!" * * * The crew on the ground wouldn't have seconds. Darshendros already knew they were there. While they hastily changed magazines, there was a flash in the air that slashed through them all. Darshendros no longer stood where he had appeared, but now behind the men. In his right hand was a wickedly designed sword, its hilt in the likeness of a dragon with its wings fully spread, the blade flaring with white-hot energy. It was held out to the side as if it had been swung. Residual light from that flash trailed from the glowing blade, and it was passing along through the necks and heads of the assembled soldiers. He had teleported behind and attacked them in an instance with a swipe of his sword, the infamous Dragonblade. Nothing but a god's armor could stand up to its keen edge. They should have run while they had the chance. If by some miracle any of the men survived the attack, they would be faced with the full awesome power of the Aspect's aura. Simply gazing upon him was enough to inspire fear and awe, especially up close. Whatever they chose to do, it was too late; they were dead men regardless of how things turned out. Darshendros then looked up as a beam of light sliced across the sky and struck the Draconis, felling it with a destructive volley. His expression did not change, but he looked toward the horizon at the approaching airship.

"Sir... we've lost contact with R.I.O.T. Five..."
The Security Chief grimaced. Out of the frying pan, which was the airship, only to land themselves straight into the fire. "Give me a status report on Twelve."
"Checking their vitals now, sir."
**
See now, that was the problem. Not everyone was that slow. One would think that all those professional soldiers would be able to have reflexes a bit better than that, and so as soon as the Aspect appeared behind them, those that were a hairline too late... died.
The rest managed to evade by split seconds due to only one factor... the leader.
"Scramble!"
This was said as soon as he vanished, and those that didn't move quickly enough would find themselves on the recieving end of that blade. Eight of them died on the spot; the rest narrowly managed to escape.
But then there was the aura. It was a potent thing, massive in scope and size. But fear was an interesting thing; it made different people do different things. An example was quite simple. They were up against something that couldn't possibly be taken out on their own, so the leader used that fear that suddenly welled up inside him to good use.
He pressed in the communicator on his helmet and said, "R.I.O.T. Eight, we are FUBAR! Need immediate assistance, ASAP! Bring your big guns with ya!"
Regardless of his initial attack, it was still on.

A figure leaped out of the darkness left in the wake of Darshendros' entrance, spinning through the air like missile, blades slashing through the air.
"DARSHENDROOOOOOS!"
It was Afro-sama! He barreled straight toward the deity's aspect, somewhere acquiring another katana while traveling through the void from Durem. He aimed to charge straight into Darshendros, and thrusting both blades into his mid-section at the same time. His right hand katana still had the healing properties on it, but it wouldn't last for much longer. Still, it should hurt him, unless this one's not undead. His left hand katana seemed to be vibrating very subtely.

Darshendros turned around to see the incoming screaming afro man. He might have caught him by surprise if he wasn't screaming. How'd he get here anyway? He was supposed to be in Durem.
Darshendros met Afro's charge with an extended hand, thrusting out a telekinetic push to slam into the human and send him flying back in the opposite direction. That wasn't all though; Darshendros wanted to get rid of him before he had any chances. He vanished and reappeared several feet behind Afro, where Darsh anticipated he would be flying, raising his sword and swinging it down in time to catch him in mid and cleave him in half, if not slam him down to the ground.

"Oh shi-"
WHOOMPH!
Afro was suddenly flying back. His intuition told him to turn around while in mid-air, and so he did, just in time to see Darsh reappearing behind him and trying to cut him down before hitting the ground. Afro crossed his blades over him to block the attack, getting slammed down on his back. Thankfully, the enchantments in his blades held. He wouldn't know how long they would last against that weapon though. This was the first time he had ever see Darshendros using that sword.
He quickly rolled to the side and sprung back to his feet, bringing his blades around him defensively in case Darshendros pressed his attack.

Darshendros stomped on the ground, attempting to crush Afro-sama, but he had rolled out of the way. The impact of his foot left a cratered impressed in the ground, splitting the ground around it with tiny cracks. He would indeed press his attack, waiting for the exact moment that Afro sprang back to his feet before unleashing his devastating breath attack, a 30-foot cone of searing blue and white fire laced with negative energy.

Afro-sama had a splt second to react, jumping out of the way of the fire. Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough - the flames glanced past his left side, burning through his sleeve. Thankfully, his pants were fire-resistant. He suddenly felt weaker though. The enchantments in his coat and pants should have soaked most of that up, but then why...?
"s**t. He's stronger this time," he muttered under his breath as he realized what happened. "I may just die today. Heh."
My utterances aren't strong enough to affect him, and even my offensive ones would put hardly a dent in him. I'll need to be smart.
Fighting in the middle of a city can be hazardous. Especially fighting near tall structures and buildings. Were there to be an earthquake... He needed time for that, however - time Darshendros wasn't likely to give him.
Sticking his two katana into the ground in front of him, Afro reached up into his afro and pulled out his secret weapon - the Holy Minigun. Belt fed with ammunition blessed by priests of various good-aligned faiths, it was the weapon he used to destroy one of Darshendros' other avatars. Surely, it could work again.
"Suck on this!" he yelled as he squeezed the trigger, firing a hundred rounds of holy brass a second.

The only reason it worked last time was because Darshendros had underestimated him. He wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. The rounds came flying, and they would slam against a semi-transparent shield that appeared before Darshendros - his Divine Shield, which was holy in its own sense, and thus impenetrable by holy rounds.
"I'll kill you this time."
The sky opened up as a beam of energy flashed down and descended upon Afro-sama to engulf him and inflict the maximum amount of pain possible. The point the beam of energy came from had the semblance of an arcane eye - a vengeful eye. Perhaps, the Vengeful Gaze of Darshendros.
The blast from the spell would slam into Darshendros as well, damaging him almost as much as it would Afro, but his own powers would make up for that. He didn't expect Afro-sama to survive it, or have any regenerative powers to keep him from the brink of death.
