Yeah, I'm not sure how this is going to go but it's worth a try. I've been spending the last few days going over what I will be doing around the equinox itself to prepare. The day before I'll prepare an altar and meditate for a while and maybe offer some mead to the Norse deities. The equinox itself will hopefully be nice weather - if so, I'll be out in the garden weeding, and planting seeds, otherwise I'll be inside doing...something...plus altering my altar to make it a little more neutral. The day after, I'll be changing things over to the few Egyptian things I have been gathering plus fresh flowers, water, and any nice fruits we have.

That sounds wonderful. I'm not sure what we're going to be doing yet. There's plans for us going to The Society's Feast of Haides but I'm looking at our money like "Um guys? If you want us there can you get us some money and not just work offers that keep falling through?" If we can't make it though I'll just spend that time putting shrines back together. I've got Djehuty's and Nebthet's back up but I've still got to work on Set's and the ahku one I've been planning. Eventually I might be putting one together for Baba Yaga and one for the lwa.

That's pretty cool. I wish I had the space to put up some of my own shrines. Instead I've just commandeered a small piece of one of the cabinets in the lounge room, but nothing is ever there permanently...my family probably wouldn't appreciate it. The most anything is ever there is about a week.

Well I'm in my own apartment now with one other person that while one not sure if he really is pagan or not is a type of energy worker and says he's a spirit worker/medium but I question those abilities of his. That and he comes with me when I go to ritual. But he gets chased from the ritual room XD it's so funny!

He tries to be in ritual the whole time. But either right before or right after start he gets this feeling of "Oh s**t. I need to get out of here."

Ah that would be nice. ^^

My boyfriend tends to get really bad headaches whenever he decides to join circles with me. I don't know why, nor does he...so instead he's gotten into the habit of lying on the ground just outside of the circle and napping. People joke that's he's our dragon guardian... xd

We have one that they would refer to as a gargoyle. He was always perched in some corner just watching incase something happened. Until we started giving him alcohol. Once he's had a couple drinks he joins in the fun.

I don't think I've ever used alcohol in a circle that wasn't private. Most of the group circles I go to are inclusive of all ages (we've even had a newborn present - she slept through the whole thing) so alcohol is never really used.

Those rituals are more private for quite a few reasons. And I'm kind of glad that they are. Some of the people that come to the more public stuff during the day give me weird feelings.

Fair enough.
We have had a couple of rather public rituals at a local (I say local but they're a 45 minute drive away) alternative market ad sometimes we get people from the city come up and try to take part. At the last one we had, the girl standing next to to me leaned over to her friend and said quite loudly "let's keep an open mind about this", to which the other giggled, and they left halfway through the circle. Probably because I was the one dousing people in rice...

Oh wow. We haven't had people like that at the ones I've been to. But I've heard some insane stories from when the public rituals used to be a lot larger. Now anymore we get people who drain the energy or come from the big city over to spy to try to send s**t our way.

Fun... rolleyes I do like the idea of public rituals because there are some genuine people who turn up that otherwise might not be able to see something like this first hand, but at the same time, those odd few who turn up for the purpose of mischief and whatnot can be a bit of a turn-off.

Yeah but when you Set who sometimes shows up and a couple other spirits that love knives and you get the people who just can't control themselves it gets kind of bad. That once told me about this one time they invited someone to one of the private rituals mouthed off to Persephanie and she took her spear and pinned the guy to a tree.

And then Set when he shows up will try to take the spear like its his. They had to "retire" it so to speak because he's been showing up more.

Wait what? But they're from two different pantheons aren't they? O.o
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2014 8:04 am

They are. Yes. Mainly in these rituals we work with the lwa. But the priest has ties to Set and the priestess has ties to Haides and Persephone.
