Dear ********, I only referenced Jian, and then I removed his name from it in an edit. I referenced a JEDI having been on the planet. Done, this really don't need to be brought up after its been settled.

I cannot go back and change posts over meaningless info that doesn't actually give my character much insight as it is. He read reports. Thats all.

We're past it.

I'm just trying to figure out what a jedi archaeologist might want to discover with all these sith emplacements and stuff. I mean, if he's interested in Cinn, that's one thing, but a lot of what happened on Ruuria isn't covered with your character's archaeological history.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 01, 2012 4:42 pm

Caisar is more than an archaeologist, it just one of the things he does. Yes, hes a scholar, but hes also a fully trained Jedi Knight, trained in military tactics, diplomacy, and is quite good with a lightsaber. Im not playing him as a archaeologist, Im playing him as a well-rounded Jedi Knight. A little like they were in the Golden and Classic Ages and less as a linear focus 'Jedi Consular'.

I brought him where the action was, and Thule is a little over-crowded anyway.

A bit funny though that the lines been tipped though. We have more Repubic Characters than Imperial acting in the game.

Jedi are not trained in military tactics. Especially not scholars. They are trained in fencing, yes, but not running battles. Because they are PEACE KEEPERS.

Interesting how they send one Jedi to counteract Sith advancements in an area. An area that's crawling with Sith and Imperial troops.

I mean, that's like Obi-Wan knowingly walking into the Death Star with the goal of disabling and neutralizing it completely, knowing that Darth Vader is on board, hopping at the bit to hunt him down and kill him. Only in this case, there'd be twenty Darth Vaders

Just going to say des, if this is yet more crap that your former master taught you, i'm going to call into question that this isn't a full on godmod card. I mean, i know he's old, but your character isn't.

This isn't the golden age, and while i'm not going to say you ahve to stick to the consular path like a diehard nerd, you've basically are describing mary-sue type characteristics. He's a diplomat (charisma), tactical master (wisdom), fencer (dexterity), Scholar (intelligence), and probably capable of being in a long winded fight (endurance).

Whatever character flaws you claim to have, really haven't shown to slow this guy down. We're jedi... so far you've shown that your character is completely obsessed with the search for all information, for good or ill. This is beyond the concept of an orthodox jedi, and with the information your master granted you, i'm starting to wonder if the order would even keep you or him in it's ranks for fear of the dark side corruption that's creeping into the world. This be a knife edge you walk along, young master jedi, for as it stands, you seem more interested in wielding powers beyond your station already, much less live the simple life of the current galaxy.

I mean, even out of character, i'm baffled as to /what/ you are, because jedi, you seem less and less to be...

The area wasn't crawling with Sith and Imperial troops until the invasion begns, hence why the Sith would wait outside the borders of Republic Space before moving in.

And Jedi work as tacticians as well as participating in ground warfare. Not all Jedi are trained the same, its not structured, especially not in the Old Republic. A student was taught until they demonstrated enough skill to hopefully attract a Master. Sometimes, if they were not skilled enough, they would never be full Jedi, instead serving the Order in other manners. The training after that was mostly up to the Master, but the council of the temple present does have a say.

In a scholarly way, Caisar is 'learned', sorry, training was overstepping term, in military tactics. Like attending West Point, but having no -hands on or simulation experience.

No, it sounds more like he read Sun tzu, was told war stories by a senile old man, and then believes he's a general because war stories and books make an officer in his mind.

What has my character done besides sit in a room and talk with two survivors of a Sith Warrior?

You overstep quite often. You really need to learn to say what you mean, because half of the crap that starts is because of some overblown terminology you seem to conveniently misuse. I've told you several times that if you're not sure what to say, it is better to ask than it is to assume, and you've blatantly ignored it. If you have listened, you've shown no comprehension of what i've been saying, because you wind up always at ground zero of these discussions.

We get tired of these fights. We have no motive to start this crap. So somewhere along the line, something is starting this. And i'm beginning to believe that most of the miscommunication is because of all these attempts to try to justify yourself without you even understanding what you're saying. Again, I am clearly lost as to what your character is. And I really believe you don't even know what your character is.

It's not what your character has done, but what you boast out of character as to what he is. I don't know where you draw the line, and i'm not even sure you understand the differences between the various jedi levels of study.

We're talking now. Now you're wanting to go investigate Ruuria and the Sith presence there. Ruuria is crawling with Sith.

Im not investigating Ruuria. Im investigating survivors of the conflict. He read reports of the investigation. Its kind of clear.

I'm done. I'm playing my character how I see fit to play him. And the only thing the character has done so far is sit in a room and talk with people.

Well, i'm still trying to figure out what good information that is irrelevant to the minos cluster would do, but I'm not going to pursue the question's answer if you're going to clam up. Whatever the investigation may find would have little relevance, but since you're insistent on making this a big deal, we'll just have to treat it as such when it develops.

Everything I've read indicates Cinn isnt even in the sector. How is knowing about this one guy relevant to the current situation you find your character in?
