Arahad passed one hand over his face, and in the same fluid movement rubbed the back of his neck, slowly letting out his breath.
"It's all right," he murmured. "Just ... we were worried. With the weather being the way it is and all ... I'm glad you're back."
He smiled and put one hand on Lin's shoulder. "I'm glad you're back," he repeated. Then he let go of her shoulder and turned towards the fireplace. "Go on up to bed, I'm going to put the fire out."

Lin smiled softly, "Good night then."
She hurried upstairs, though she couldn't hurry too much that would make simply too much noise, but she wanted to make sure Earendil was alright having taken most of the wind.
Taking a quick peek into Miyuki's room, Lin made her way to their room.

Earendil had stripped and dried himself before pulling on some dry clothes and crawling into bed. Still, he was cold, his hands and nose feeling like ice, his entire body shivering.
He kept an eye on the door as he waited for Lin, rubbing his arms in an attempt to warm himself at least slightly.

Stepping in, Lin saw that Earendil was already in bed, but obviously awake.
"How are you feeling?"
Quickly she closed the door behind him, and moved to change out of her own clothes. While not as wet like Earendil, it was still cold and not completely productive to trying to warm up.

"Freezing," Earendil replied, speaking slowly and quietly so that his voice would not vibrate with his shivering. "I don't think I've ever felt so cold ..."
But at least it was him and not Lin or Miyuki ... they were strong, true, but neither of them had the elven resilience that Earendil did.

Lin paused for a moment to let her wings back out, as she tended to pull them into her back when she changed to make it easier on herself. Then stealthily she headed towards the bed, and slipped under the covers. She carefully lifted the bed covers up a bit so she could snuggle close and more important let a wing drape over Earendil's shivering body.
It was one of the few reasons why she liked having wings they made good covers and the feathers made her wings one of the warmest parts of her body. They were also good for giving warmth to other people.
"Bit better?"

It was indeed a bit warmer, though Earendil had a feeling it would take more than a blanket of feathers to warm him thoroughly. He draped one arm over Lin's side, holding her close, and her own body heat did more to warm him than her wing did.
"Better," he agreed, closing his eyes and sighing softly as he felt his shivers slow. He pressed his lips lightly to her forehead. "Perhaps tomorrow we should stick to the house," he murmured softly. "Get a bit more rest. Keep warm."

Lin chuckled into his chest it was good to feel him stop shivering though. She couldn't imagine how cold he must be by now.
"Sounds like a fine idea," Lin murmured as she closed her eyes.
With that she slowly drifted off to sleep.

Earendil found it difficult to sleep, despite having Lin's warmth so near him. He was not sure what it was, but something was bothering him ... some prickle of warning that he couldn't figure out. Something just plain wasn't right.
His mind too busy to sleep, he simply lay there in the darkness, waiting for day to arrive, and once it did, for Lin to wake up.

Waking, especially in the winter time was such a bothersome thing because of the cold and one wouldn't want to leave a warm bed. Especially when it had a warm body in said warm bed. Lin snuggled for a bit before opening her eyes and looking sleepily up at Earendil.
She looked at him, and he seemed awake and yet....
"Did you sleep at all last night?" she finally asked him.

Earendil smiled ever so faintly at Lin and shook his head gently.
"I tried," he murmured honestly. "But I couldn't. Something just felt ... off. I don't know what."
He brushed her hair away from her face tenderly. "I'll catch up on my sleep, don't worry," he assured her with a smile. He kissed her on the forehead. "Good morning."

"Good morning," Lin replied stretching up to kiss him on the chin.
She looked thoughtfully at him, not worried about needing to get out of bed. She was sure either Miyuki was trying to look for them or was getting breakfast out of someone.
That or still sleeping, it had been quite a night.
"It's a good thing we thought about staying in today."
They should, if for no other reason than Lin wanted Earendil to rest.

Earendil smiled faintly, gazing tenderly at Lin.
"Agreed. I find myself entirely unmotivated to get out of bed."
His eyes flickered to the window, where light was showing despite a gray sky outside.
"Though if it's already light," he murmured, "I suppose it's high time ..."

Lin giggled at him from where she laid, she rather Earendil get up first for no other reason than she was less likely to accidentally whamp him while she got up.
"But no one said we had to leave the house," she reminded him.

"True," Earendil chuckled, making no move to get up. After all, he still had Lin's wing over him. He did however remove his arm from her side so that she wouldn't be trapped against him any longer. "Though it does make me wonder what it looks like outside. It sounded quite harsh all night long."
For that matter, it still sounded quite blustery.
