Arielle Shore

User Image
Maria had, for most of the day, been with her father's squad, assisting him on places where Arielle and Jonesy would most likely pop up due to Arielle's stories of her meetings with Jonesy. She trusted her father's team and only hoped that her plan had worked. It was awkward telling her father Arielle's secret after all these years, and when the truth settled in, it didn't take too long for him to take action. Her father's men were the best and trained well. They were all in their positions, waiting for the cue to burst in and stop Jonesy, arresting him once and for all and saving her beloved friend.

Each second seemed to have dragged on until the destined time. She almost screamed in surprise when she felt her phone go off because she had been so deep in her thoughts about her plan, going through aspect to make sure it was absolutely perfect. She pulled out her phone, wondering if it was from Arielle. When she realized that it was actually Kedrick, she hurriedly opened the message and stared at the words. The "Go" was enough of a sign that the plan was set in motion. At first, it took her awhile to react to her father as her heart sank. That means that Jonesy had come earlier than expected, that either Arielle was already in one of her destinations or on her way. She hoped it was the later and returned back to her state of mind as she looked at her father, her face giving him enough reason to start the plan.

"Men!" Maria's father shouted both into the walkie talkies and to the men around him, "The plan starts now. Keep your eyes open for any signs of them. If they try to enter the building, stop them and take custody of this young man, but make sure the girl stays unharmed."

Maria felt anxious, probably more so than before. She looked at her phone and the time that she received the message. Who was she kidding to think that they were on their way. Arielle was already there and most likely she was in enough danger that Kedrick had to alert her now. So... How come none of the men didn't report that they found them? Unless... The realization that Arielle was taken somewhere else completely threw off her plan. Hurrying over to one of the technician specialists, she tracked down Kedrick's location from the message he sent her. After they had talked last night, she was able to get his number programmed in the system just in case, and she was grateful that day when she did so.

When her results came up, she along with a few other of the technicians just stared at where Arielle was actually at before Maria stood up quickly, making the chair fall over and heading over to her dad. As she got close enough, she soon heard through her father's walkie talkie that there was no sign of either Arielle or Jonesy, Maria cleared her throat and waited patiently to have her father's undivided attention.

"Papá," Maria started, "I found where Arielle's really at. I was able to track down Kedrick's location from his text message. The technicians have the location, but we have to hurry, papá."

Her father nodded in agreement, following quickly behind Maria to where the technician's were. After seeing an image of the actual location thanks to their equipment, he sent the word out to his men and for them to hurry down there at all costs. When that was sent out, Maria, her father, and the rest of his team hurried in their cars and sped away themselves, hoping that they wouldn't end up being too late. As they were driving down, Maria sent Kedrick a message. We're on our way. We realized that he wasn't in any of the three places that I thought he'd be at from Arielle's tales. If we don't get there in enough time, you have my permission to step in and do whatever it takes until we get there. Be careful and use your head, Kedrick.

Jonesy returned an angry glare back at Arielle as he let the tip of his blade slide down her neck gently, but still was able to cut lightly into her skin, the blood slowly beginning to slide down her neck. Even though it stung a little bit, she wouldn't let him see it.

"Now then Arielle," Jonesy said, pulling the blade away from her neck, "I'll give you one final chance. I didn't want to hurt you today. I just wanted this to be as simple as possible."

"Read my lips, Jonesy," Arielle said, resisting the urge to spit in his face, "I. Will. Never. Go."

Jonesy growled, pushing Arielle down hardly before pulling her up, twisting her arm behind her back and bringing his switchblade back to her neck. "Why are you so stubborn?" Jonesy growled, "Why won't you understand that I'll always get my way in the end."

"Except when your plan failed when you took me to that cursed Pet Shop," Arielle said with a smirk, "Your plan failed then."

She couldn't see his expression, but she knew she had struck a chord with him. There was a pause before she felt the cold steel of the blade being removed from her neck. Before she could even sigh in relief, Jonesy turned her around to face him and slapped her down again, kicking her in her stomach.

"I've HAD it with you," Jonesy said with another kick, "I WILL make you give in, whether you like it or not!"

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick waited in gut-wrench suspense as he waited for Maria's response. Why weren't they hear yet? Didn't she say the would have already had the building surrounded? Kedrick quickly silenced his phone as it buzzed, signaling Maria's reply. He flipped it open, straining to read the tiny words as quickly as possible. 'They aren't going to be here right away?' He thought, once again felling like he had lost the pit of his stomach somewhere along the line. He felt his fingers tightening around the phone and stifled the urge to throw it against the wall. 'Maria said...if they weren't here in enough time...I suppose she means if it get's too bad...' Jonsey's enraged yelled snapped Kedrick's mind back to the task at hand. He turned sharply, watching, mortified as Jonsey's foot crashed painfully into Arielle's ribs. 'That's it' He thought, his teeth gritting in anger.'I hope I don't let you down Maria, but I have to stop this...but I will use my head...' Kedrick wasn't exactly sure how much he had to think, he just knew, that what ever he was going to do had to be done fast.

After a brief pause that cost Arielle another blow to the ribs, Kedrick bent down, and scooped up a rock slightly smaller than a baseball. Kedrick wasn't much of a fighter, but he knew how to throw, and his aim was good. He pushed the window up further, aimed carefully, and threw the rock as hard as he could at Jonsey's head.

His hand must have shaken. The rock, didn't hit Jonsey square in the back of the head, knocking him out as Kedrick had hoped, but it did clip the top of his skull, and it was going to hurt. Scooping up two more rocks, Kedrick slid through the window. "You're dead." He said, his words sound colder than he could ever remember sounding before. But that didn't matter now, all that matter was that he wanted to cause Jonsey as much pain as he could before Maria showed up and stopped in from kill the man.

Arielle Shore

Each kick made Arielle cry out in pain. She didn't expect the kicking and at the same time, it didn't surprise her for the type of person Jonesy was. Each kick hurt her like crazy, and Arielle almost started sobbing in pain when Jonesy stopped and something fell to the floor. She managed to get herself up and see it was a rock. It wasn't until she saw another figure in the room and heard the voice that it all made sense.

Jonesy slowly turned back and looked at the one who was responsible. He only stared him down with a rage. He barely was paying any attention to Arielle who was slowly getting to her feet from his kicks, coughing every so often. He laughed coldly, his other hand reaching for his gun, "I'm so sorry, but I think you've been mistaken. Just who do you think you are?"

When Arielle could finally accept the fact that Kedrick was there, she now started panicking but felt something else that she could hardly explain. He came for me! Oh Kedrick, she thought with a small smile. But then she realized the situation that they were in and her smile disappeared, being replaced by fear. "You shouldn't be here, it's too dangerous."

Jonesy looked back at Arielle and looked at Kedrick, doing that for a few times before the truth sunk in. He snapped his fingers and his goons walked over to Kedrick, one punching him square in the gut and the other knocking him down to the floor. Jonesy waited till his men moved apart so that he could see Kedrick on the floor before walking over to him. "You've got some nerve following me, kid," pausing briefly and letting his switchblade be taken by his goon before pulling out his gun and pointing it at Kedrick's head, "Sadly, your brave heroic act ends here now."

"Jonesy no!" Arielle exclaimed as saw what he was doing. She walked quickly to him and tried pulling his arm back, taking the gun from him, "I won't let you hurt Kedrick!"

Jonesy pushed her away, turning back to look at her with a dark grin. "I finally found your weak point... Your love for this boy... I can see it so clearly now. If I get rid of him... Yes, I get it now... Killing him is what will break him..." He turned to look at Kedrick, pointing the gun at him with a dark grin, "Any last words before you say goodnight to your girlfriend?"

At that point, Arielle had it. Remembering everything she learned from martial arts lessons, she pulled Jonesy's arm back and started wrestling with him to take possession of the gun. Jonesy, who was not afraid to hurt Arielle at all, retaliated with fighting her back.

The struggle on the floor was close and risky. There was one point that the gun slipped from both of their hands and Arielle went to get it before Jonesy pushed her away, then having his switchblade tossed to him by his goons and revealed the blade, stabbing her deep in left shoulder before tossing it aside and going back to get his gun.

Arielle screamed out in pain, but would not let that stop her. Ignoring the pain in her arm, she wrestled with Jonesy again over the gun, the two of them rolling on the floor before a loud noise rang through the entire room.

There was silence again before Jonesy pushed Arielle off of him, holding the gun with smoke slowly rising from it. Arielle seemed shocked and didn't take notice that the gunshot wound had hit her in her stomach until she felt the warmth of her blood quickly coming out and leaving a growing red stain on her clothes. She clenched her stomach and curled up in a ball, now afraid that she was honestly going to die. Not now... Please...

"I told you I didn't want to hurt you, Arielle," Jonesy said, immediately not feeling any remorse for shooting her, "But you left me no choice."

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick paused, one rock still clenched in his hand when he was unexpectedly assaulted by Jonsey's two goons. He let out a sharp grunt of pain as the mans fist hit his square in the gut and the jab near the base of his neck dropped him heavily to the ground. He looked up at Jonsey, his eyes radiating cold, bitter hatred. Kedrick was surprised to find that he wasn't afraid at all when Jonsey pointed the gun at his head, asking him cruelly for last words. He glanced up at Arielle, the cold look on his face dropping for a second. "I love you Arielle." He said with a bitter smile. His eyes shifted up to Jonesy. "As for you....Drop dead." He spat, and readied himself for the searing pain that would tear through his skull and signify the end of his life. He wasn't going to give Jonesy any pleasure in this.

Kedrick looked up in surprise when he didn't find himself instantly dead following his final insult. He tried to push himself up, wincing slightly, following the fight with his eyes, anger mounting. His mind was clouded with anger as he managed to get himself up onto his elbows.

It was the sound of the gunshot that shook Kedrick, but it didn't clear his mind, it drove him out of it. Looking back, Kedrick could have sworn he had gone mad. With a scream of rage he bolted to his feet, knocking the gun from Jonsey's hand and tumbling to the ground with him. He raised with rock, still tucked in his palm and hit in hard again Jonesy's forehead. After that, he abandoned reason, letting the rock drop He pushed Jonsey square in the noes, sure he felt something break. "You! You sick, twisted, demonic, vomitous slim ball!" He screamed angrily, expressing each word with a punch to his face. He grabbed the collar of Jonsey's shirt yanking him up and smashing his own forhead into the man's already broken nose. He dropped his head hard against the concreat floor, once again hitting him hard, this time across the jaw. But Kedrick wasn't satisfied with the blood that ran freely from Jonsey's nose. No, that wasn't good enough, He just hoped once again that Maria got here it time to stop him from killing the man.

Arielle Shore

Today was a day of surprises for Jonesy. He continued staring at Arielle, he felt nothing as she continued bleeding. She didn't listen and if she died, he could always say it was an accident due to a gang fight and that Arielle was unfortunate to get in the middle of it. But when he was attacked by Kedrick, he was taken off his guard. He didn't even have time to retaliate and fight back because it all came quick to him. He grunted out in pain after each of Kedrick's punches and he almost wished he could kill the child. Every insult that Kedrick threw at him was no insult at him.

When he finally took a break from punching his face clean off, Jonesy used all the force he had in his body to kick him off. Getting up slowly, he could only laugh darkly. "You really do have guts kid," he finally said after his moment of laughter. He stomped down hardly on Kedrick before going back and getting the gun, preparing the next bullet for Kedrick. "However, you're too late and both you and Arielle are going to die. It'll almost be like Romeo and Juliet. Isn't that cute?"

Arielle slowly moved out of her ball, still holding onto her stomach. She had never felt so much blood leave her in her life. She was aware of Kedrick and Jonesy's struggle, and didn't even have enough in her to gasp in surprise. When Jonesy had gotten Kedrick off of him and pointing the gun at her Kedrick, she silently begged and pleaded for him not to pull the trigger. Please... I need a miracle...

And just then, in what seemed like forever, the sound of the police sirens were closing in quickly to the hideout. Sounds of door's opening and slamming were the newest noise. Since the door was already open for the sake of ventilation, it made it easier for the police officers to come in. Along with those officers that came in were Maria and her father.

"We've got you completely surrounded, Jonesy," Maria's father said, "Back away from the boy and drop your weapon. You and the rest of your chumps are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent."

Maria felt a sense of pride as they finally found them. She glared at the disgusting excuse of a man that had made Arielle's life a living nightmare for three years. When the thought of Arielle found its way inside her conscious, she immediately started looking around, her eyes gazing around the room until she finally found her best friend and almost cried out in horror.

"You shot her!" Maria screamed at him, adding insults in Spanish and a couple of profanities that would make her father speak with her later on about that, "How could you do such a thing to her? She didn't even deserve it!"

"She didn't do as I say, so she deserved it," Jonesy replied evenly, looking at the young girl before looking back at Arielle.

Before more could be said, Maria's father signaled to his men to arrest Jonesy and his goons. Maria waited before hurrying up to Kedrick. "I'm so sorry Kedrick, I feel like we came too late...," she almost said with a sob, looking back at her father's men, "Please, somebody call an ambulance now!" Being the chief's daughter, an order barked by her from a situation would be followed immediately, especially since if they didn't, they would be in trouble with her father.

Arielle moved herself carefully over to Kedrick and Maria before stopping, her hold on her stomach growing tighter. "I....I...I'm so...so...sorry...."

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick let out a sharp yelp as Jonsey hit him off, once again hitting the ground and trying to struggle back up, only to be stopped at the sight of the gun. It gave Kedrick a sense of morbid pleasure that he could have done as much damage as he did to Jonsey's face. But that wasn't important right now, not even the fact that he was going to die was important, the only this that mattered was the horrible ache in his chest 'Arielle's going to die...' He thought, looking up at Jonesy with hatred in his eyes. 'Arielle's going to die and It's my fault as much as his....'

Kedrick head whipped around at the sound of the sirens and the policeman's yells. Kedrick had never been so happy to see Maria in his life. He choked out a hoarse gasp of surprise, pushing himself up slightly, blood leaking from his badly split lip. "Maria!" He said, scrambling up slightly. His voice overlapped the young woman's as he demanded an ambulance. With that said, his eye's turned to Arielle.

He scrambled over to her, tears springing to his eyes. "Arielle!" He cried, his voice cracking. "No, no no no! It's not your fault!" He took her face in his hands. "Maria's calling an ambulance, just...." Kedrick drew in a shaking breath, tears streaming unheeded down his cheeks. "Don't...don't die..." He eased her down onto the floor so she was lying half on her side. He stroked her face, resting his forehead against her's and singing softly. He could feeling his tears falling from his cheeks to dot her face but that seemed the least of both their worries. He tried to think of an appropriate song, His mind coming to a soft, pretty melody he used to catch Sakimi singing when she thought no one was watching. "I have a little present here for you...Inside this tiny bottle so very small and blue...Please do not un cork it or everything'll get away...for inside there lies a summer's day....put it on away..." His voice cracked, trailing off to a broken whisper at the last line.

Arielle Shore

Arielle could only give Kedrick a small smile as he came over to her. She saw that the only damage that he had done to him by Jonesy was his split lip, plus the small assault from Jonesy's goons, but he could've been in a far worse shape. It was hard for her to say anything, not only because she was fighting to keep breathing as well as keep as much blood inside her as she can, but she would also just sputter out apologies.

Maria could only watch in agony. She felt like she didn't do her part in the plan properly, that the fact that she didn't let her father's men search out more that her best friend was now dying. She heard footsteps behind her and felt the comforting hand of her father, who had a sorrowful expression on his face. She knew he felt the same way that she felt, and Arielle was like another daughter to him since they were so close. Oh please... If anyone can hear me, don't let her die....

Arielle listened to Kedrick's song with a small smile. It was such a nice tune to listen to. With one arm still wrapped around her stomach, she raised her other arm slowly and let her hand grasp onto Kedrick's as tightly as she could, which wasn't much. "Ke...Ke..Kedrick..," she said with some difficulty, "Th...Th...Thank you for th...th...the song... It...It was beautiful..." She didn't say anything more for a few seconds, her eyes fluttering a bit, almost like she was heading off to sleep before she managed to keep them open. "If..If I don't make it Kedrick...I want you...I want you to know... That I love you...I love you so much...And...Everyday with you...it was wonderful...Something I needed...Please tell Athena I'm sorry and...And that I really did want to spend time with..h..h..her....."

Arielle was silent some more, fighting to keep her eyes open. She looked up at Maria and her father with a faint smile. "You...You my friend...You're...You're going to...to...to...make a great chief...in the future...Tha...Thank you so much f...for...saving me...You're the....You're the best..."

Maria gave her a small smile, her heart aching so much to see her friend in such a condition. "You know I'll always be there for you, Arielle," Maria said, trying not to let her emotions get the best of her, "You're mi amiga mejor... I'll always be there for you."

Arielle smiled a little more, lightly wincing in pain when she felt the after affects of the pain in her shoulder. Her eyes were getting heavier and she could barely fight to keep them open anymore, so she let them fall and close. Her breathing slowed down a bit and there were times that it seemed like it would just stop. She was losing the color in her face and she almost felt like she was going to fade away. As she continued to loose consciousness, her hold on Kedrick's hand loosened and eventually fell slowly down back to her.

Maria stared dumfounded at Arielle, almost like she couldn't believe that her friend had actually died on them. She just wouldn't accept it, not when she knew her friend had so much to live for. All her dreams, her hopes, her ambitions.. They couldn't just die, there was no way they were gone. Seeing the sight of her friend still didn't stop her from letting her tears fall as she held onto her father, who was also crying lightly.

The ambulance finally came just a few minutes after Arielle passed out due to her lack of blood. The paramedics rushed into the room and hurriedly put Arielle on a stretcher before taking her off into the ambulance. Maria asked them to let herself, along with Kedrick go along and stay with their friend, which they agreed to. Maria's father let Maria know that he was going to stay with his men and make sure Jonesy and his goons are in their cells before calling Arielle's grandparents. With a few more words here and there, and a kiss on the forehead from the father to the daughter, Maria helped Kedrick up and together the two of them entered the back of the ambulance and sat close to Arielle.

The entire ride was filled with silence and the ambulance sped like it never had done before, especially because they were trying to make sure to save Arielle from loosing just about all her blood. The ambulance was heading to the closest hospital that was in the area, which was not too far from the hospital where Kedrick and Arielle visited Athena at. When they arrived, the paramedics immediately took Arielle out and rushed her to the ER, Maria and Kedrick once again following behind.

Eventually, they had to let Kedrick and Maria stay outside the room as they took care of Arielle. They needed to give her more blood, and a lot of it too, as well as remove the bullet from her stomach and fix up as much as they could. All of that took even more hours than before and Maria paced around the room in her worry, muttering prayers quickly under her breath in Spanish.

Maria's father called, giving her an update and wanted to know if he should come, along with Arielle's grandparents, to check on her state right, but Maria convinced him to just comfort them since they haven't finished with Arielle yet and to probably wait the next day.

More hours went by and still no word about Arielle's condition came through. One of Maria's father's men came to find them and brought them food to eat, as well as some blankets and coffee. Maria sat next to Kedrick and was in a sort of daze, she wanted to call someone, to help her calm her nerves, but her father was with Arielle's grandparents and the only other person who could comfort her was in a medical room. She almost wished she had Dimitri's number, whom she hadn't spoken to since the Harvest Dance. Then she realized that Kedrick was friend's with him and asked him quietly if he could ask him to come over, for the sake of both of them because they both needed someone to comfort them.

When she felt like that they couldn't wait any longer, one of Arielle's doctors came out, a solemn expression on his face. Maria looked up when he came out and fear clenched her gut, his expression giving her a sense of doom that all was lost.

"I apologize that we have taken so long," the doctor said in a gentle voice as he worked over to the worried teens, "But, your friend will be alright. She was very lucky that the gunshot wound didn't damage a major part of her body or it would've been harder for us to repair it for fear that it would only make things worse. She was fighting really hard to stay with us too, something that is also rare in some of our patients. But anyway, you are now allowed to go in, but please don't make too much noise, she's still resting and there were times that we lost her before she came back. I apologize again for the wait and please take care." He finished with a light nod before he left Maria and Kedrick be.

Maria breathed a sigh of relief, muttering prayers of thanks in quick Spanish again before looking at Kedrick with a small smile. "C'mon, lets go see Arielle," she said as she stood up, walking into Arielle's room and looking at Arielle's unconscious form.

Arielle was sleeping peacefully, obvious signs that some of the color was coming back to her face. Her arms were hooked up with a few needles and er heart monitor showed that her heart rate was gradually returning to normal. Maria felt so relieved when she knew that her best friend would pull through. Now, all they had to do was wait for her to finally wake up.

(This monster post... It's finally finished x.x. Hope you didn't mind me godmodding Kedrick or anything, but enjoy 8D.

Kedrick Suwa

Everything seemed blurry, Kedrick felt like someone had torn out his heart as Arielle's hand slipped from his. The ambulance ride, The rush into the hospital, it all seemed very distant. Before Kedrick knew it, he was sitting in the white washed hallway of the hospital, a hand pushed through his hair, staring at the titled floor he was sitting on. Tear ran silently down his face and his lips moved softly as he thought his prayer 'Dear God....what do I say? We haven't really talked in a long time and if this is punishment for not praying, I'm sorry...but please...please, if you're there...you've got to save Arielle...she means everything to me...she's the world to me...Arielle is....my light...' Kedrick placed both hands on his forehead, ducking his head between his knees. He startled suddenly when Maria asked him to call Dimitri. He nodded slowly, no time to be confuse. "Sure..." He said hoarsely, standing up. "Give me a sec..." Kedrick stepped out of the hall and down a flight of stairs and finally through the hospital's doors and into the parking lot.

Dimitri was laying on his back, staring at the ceiling think what a wasteful was this was to spend a beautiful afternoon. 'I should go outside....' The though lazily. 'Nah..I'll do it later...' The young man tipped his head slowly to the side, staring lethargically at his phone, witch was vibrating on the nightstand. He reached over, glancing at the number. He flipped it open, holding the phone to his ear. "Hey." He said with a smirk. "Dimitri." Came Kedrick hoarse reply. Dmitri frowned sitting up. "What's wrong." He asked instantly, able to tell just from his tone that something was very, very wrong. "Arielle's...Arielle's hurt..." He said softly, fighting to keep his voice even. Dimitri slid off of his bed, grabbing his shoes. "Where are you. I'm coming."

Kedrick stepped back up into the hallway, sinking down into his original position. He glanced weakly up at Maria. "Dimitri's on his way...' He said simply. A few minutes later, the doctor informed them that they could see her. Kedrick stood up quickly, almost loosing his balance.

As they stepped slowly into the hospital room Kedrick stomach dropped. To see her lying there, looking pale, hooked up to all the odd machines, it made Kedrick feel ill. He walked over slowly, Reaching down, he took her hand, careful not to disturb the IV near her wrist. "Oh Arielle..." He whispered softly, feeling tears spring to his eyes again. Kedrick laughed softly, it was a heartbreaking laugh. "You...you'll be okay..." He said, mostly to himself rather than her. With another half sob half laugh, he touched the back of her hand to his forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin against his.

Twenty minutes later, the hospital door slid quietly open and the dark haired boy stepped through. He drew in a sharp breath through his teeth, the color draining from his face. "What the..." He swallowed back a foul word, his cheeks now flushing with anger. "What happened here?" He demanded.

Arielle Shore

User Image
Maria gave a small smile, watching Kedrick's interaction with Arielle. It was heartbreaking to see, but at the same time, really sweet. She could see how much Kedrick loved her best friend, and Maria had a feeling that Arielle got herself in that condition to protect him. Just like when she let Jonesy take her away that one day so I could get home safely, she thought with a faint smile, You're finally free now, Ari... Please wake up soon...

Arielle's room was silent, minus the occasional beep of her heart monitor. Maria was just about to let her father know what had happened when Dimitri came into the room. Maria was happy to see him again and walked over to him, lifting a finger to her lips in a way to ask him to be quiet. She looked back at Kedrick, "Kedrick, I'm going to take Dimitri outside the room so I can explain what happened and he doesn't disturb Arielle. We'll be back in a few."

After that was said, she took Dimitri by his hand and led him outside Arielle's room, closing the door behind him and walking a little ways away from her room before letting go of his hand, taking a deep breath. "Arielle got shot at today... And stabbed in her shoulder. The story explaining this is long, and I would ask for her permission if she was up, but I'm sure that she trusts you enough for me to tell you. Now, when I tell you this, please don't let what happened change your opinion of my best friend. She's the sweetest girl on this planet and...and..and...," Maria paused, feeling herself start to cry. She looked away from Dimitri, afraid of letting him see her tears, and she didn't look back until she felt a bit more composed to tell him Arielle's story. "Are you...Are you ready?"

Back in Arielle's room, the quiet continued, however the slightest bit of movement came from Arielle. It first started with her fingers twitching before her eyes slowly started to open. It took her awhile to have her eyes accustomed to the brightness of the room since Jonesy's warehouse wasn't the brightest place in the world. Her eyes, after looking around the room, settled onto Kedrick and a faint smile touched her lips.

"K..Kedrick?" Arielle asked faintly, "Is that you...Or...Or am I dreaming?"

Kedrick Suwa

Dimitri ducked his head slightly, in apology for speaking to loudly. He was a little bit surprised when Maria took his hand and lead him out of the room. On a normal day, Dimitri would have reflected on how nice Maria's hand around his felt, but today wasn't normal. Dimitri started slightly as Maria told him about her injuries. He opened his mouth at one point to say something angrily, threaten who ever it was that dared to do this, but, surprisingly wise for Dimitri, He closed his mouth. When Maria asked if he was ready to hear the whole story, Dimitri simply nodded. He got the odd feeling that he knew what was coming, or at least he had a vague idea. Maria had the some look on her face now, the Kedrick had often worn when he thought about what Dimitri had told him about himself. He knew it was a horrible thing to do, putting the weight of you problem on them, but Dimitri would never regret telling Kedrick about himself.

Inside. Kedrick shifted slightly as Arielle moved. He realized he had almost been dreaming, though not asleep. He had laps into a mindless, half consciousness as he waited for Arielle. Her voice was what fully woke him. His eyes flew open and he looked down at her, hardly daring to believe that what he was seeing could be right. "No, No it's me Arielle..." He said with a small smile, he touched her face gently. "Welcome back, how do you feel?"

Arielle Shore

"I feel...," Arielle started, pausing to get her thoughts completely together, "I feel off, but..alive. My stomach feels weird and my shoulder's a bit sore, but other than that, I'm fine." She smiled at Kedrick and sat up a little, making a face before finally making herself comfortable.

She raised her hand to Kedrick's face and let it rest on his cheek, another smile touching her lips. "How are you feeling though? I hope you're alright and I'm so sorry for getting you into this mess Kedrick," she stared down at her lap as she moved her hand away from his face, "I never wanted anything bad to happen to you..."

Accepting Dimitri's nod, Maria began the story from the beginning, or the beginning that Arielle told her. She first explain how Arielle had lost her parents six to seven years before that in a tragic car accident and how she ended up living with her grandparents. She remembered that day very well. Arielle hadn't gone to school for an entire week and a half and it was up to Maria to bring Arielle her homework home everyday and let her know what they had learned in school so she wouldn't have been left behind.

After telling Dimitri the small important fact, she returned the story to when they were both thirteen. Arielle had always been grateful for her grandparents taking her in, and she always plotted ways to give them something special, to show her gratitude, but cards and Christmas presents weren't enough. Eventually, Arielle would tell Maria her plans about ways she would raise enough money for her grandparents to enjoy their retirement. Sadly, being the fact that her friend was thirteen, she wasn't exactly able to get a paying job that would help her out.

So her friend did just that, and the two of them worked on flyers that would help Arielle find a place where she could get paid. Whether it was babysitting, mowing the lawn, housekeeping, or even walking dogs, Arielle was willing to do anything to reach her goal. However, she never knew how much her friend would regret her decision until after she met Jonesy.

Maria paused in the story, frowning after she had said Jonesy's name. Just like Arielle, she had never despised a man as much as she had for Jonesy. After more of a pause, she continued the tale, how Arielle's first interaction with Jonesy seemed innocent enough and how willingly her friend accepted his proposal of a job that she could do. However, when she finally realized what the job really was, she soon regretted her decision of ever accepting his proposal.

Arielle had ended up under the clutches of a young man who found girls like Arielle, desperate enough to do anything for money, and paired them up with perverted old men as their housekeepers, or whatever those old men wanted. Arielle did the tasks of a maid, but would always constantly get hit on by the perverts, who wanted nothing more than to have their way with Arielle. She never let them and eventually had to take up martial arts lessons to keep defend herself. Her actions had upset Jonesy and soon he began punishing her through many different sadistic and brutal ways that came up in that man's twisted mind. It soon drove her friend to the point where she made an agreement with Jonesy; she would continue working under him until the time she turned sixteen, and after that, she would free herself from his service and get a real job.

Maria herself didn't learn about this entire ordeal until almost a year later Arielle had agreed with working under Jonesy. When she did learn, she knew that Arielle had to tell her grandparents. They were already worried and she knew that if Arielle told them the truth, it would ease their worries a little. The only thing everyone could do at that time was wait until Arielle had turned sixteen, and soon her best friend was free from Jonesy's grasp. However, it didn't stop the nasty rumors about Arielle being a whore around the school, which had always frustrated Maria because she knew that was far from the truth. But neither of them could hardly do anything but wait.

When the time finally came, Maria honestly thought that they were done with Jonesy. That he would never show up again in Arielle's life. Maria soon knew how wrong she was when she had the pleasure of meeting Jonesy the first time in her life before he snatched Arielle away from her. It was before Arielle had met Kedrick and Maria was unable to do anything. In fact, she was almost taken along with Arielle herself had it not been for Arielle sacrificing herself to let Maria leave, only asking her to tell her grandparents she was staying at her place. When they took Arielle away from Maria, she never wanted to feel as useless as she did then, and she soon concocted a plan that would help her save Arielle in her time of need.

Then, the moment for her plan came to the test when she got the call two nights ago that Arielle was to meet up with Jonesy. Maria felt fearful but she knew that it was now or never and she eventually told Kedrick the plan too. Then she went to tell her father, the police chief of a few police stations, about the situation and her plan. With his permission, she knew that her plan would come into fruition and she would save Arielle. She eventually explained in full detail the extent of her plan to Dimitri, a plan that she knew would be the key of saving Arielle's life and locking up Jonesy forever.

"But I was too late. I made a miscalculation... I didn't think far enough and we weren't there fast enough to prevent Jonesy from shooting Arielle... If it wasn't for the fact that I had Kedrick's phone saved into the technician's database and was able to track him down, they'd both be gone right now," Maria paused, her voice choking and the tears falling down from her face. It was true that everything was fine now but had she only been faster, if they had only reacted quicker, Arielle wouldn't be in the hospital room hooked up into all those IVs and machines.

She sniffed, wiping her eyes but not feeling any better. Again she looked away from Dimitri, not wanting to see her cry, "And now... Now you know."

Kedrick Suwa

Dimitri listened in silence, not a word was spoken though Maria's entire explanation. Not a word from the moment Maria told him about the car crash that had kill Arielle's parents, to the words 'Now you know.' Maria could see that Dimitri's face was pale, He turned his back quickly to her, his shoulders stiff, a hand over his mouth. He felt slightly sick, his mind turning over everything that had been dumped into his head in these past few moments.

Maria must have been afraid of what Dimitri was thinking, he was still wordless, not looking at her, clearly turning it all over. But the only thing Dimitri thought and felt was an odd feeling of relief. He wasn't entirly sure why, but it seemed to explain so much to him. When Dimitri had first met Arielle he had, of course, been instantly infatuated with her. Dimitri had seen something in her eyes, something he had only ever seen in one person before. When he had looked at Arielle, he hadn't seen someone he was romantically attracted to, but someone who would always be there for him, as a friend. And that was something he had only seen in Kedrick before, but even beyond that, he had seen in Arielle's eyes that she had seen, and felt some of the same things he had experienced.

Dimitri turned back to face Maria quickly. He took her shoulders gently, and leaned forward, kissing her forehead. It was a surprisingly soft and comforting thing for Dimitri, but now wasn't the time to be brash. He pulled back, gently flicking the tears off her cheeks. "Thank you." He said simply, looking into her eyes. "Thank you for telling me. I understand a lot better now. We should go see her."

Kedrick smiled slightly at Arielle. "I'm fine." He assured her, he had long since cleaned up he bloody lip but it was still swollen and his gut was sore. There was no need for Arielle to know that though. "It's all over now." He said gently. "Everything will be fine from now on." Kedrick smiled and stroked her cheek. The hospital door slid back open, and Dimitri slid through. He smiled, that charming smile of his and walked over to the other side of her bed. "Glad to see you're awake." He said, sitting down on the edge of her bed and smiling. "Maria was just explaining some things to me." Dimitri said on a more serious note, he looked into her eye's, trying his best to convey what he was thinking without saying it. He wasn't sure he wanted Maria to know how much was wrong with him yet. 'I know. And you know what? It's okay....We're even now, I know, you know...' He smiled and touched her hand lightly. "I'm glad you're okay."

Maria didn't know what to think when Dimitri was silent throughout the story. She knew that he was being quiet to listen to her, but when she was done and he still didn't say anything, she began to panic. She wanted to say something to him when he turned away and she really wanted him to say something. She feared of what was going on in his mind. She didn't have time to sigh in relief when Dimitri turned back to face her when he held onto her shoulders and kissed her forehead.

For the first time in her life, she felt her stomach flutter and make flips, which was weird for her. Maria only nodded with a shy smile, feeling relieved that Dimitri understood. But then it made her wonder just how and why he understood a lot better. Was Arielle showing signs around him? Before she could ask questions, Dimitri suggested that they go back and check on Arielle, and she nodded, following behind him, desperate to see her friend.

Kedrick's words were so reassuring, that Arielle just knew he was right. She made it through and now she had nothing to fear anymore. No more abductions, no more abuse, no more Jonesy. Arielle felt so overjoyed that she wanted to cry tears of joy. The door opened and she turned her head to see Dimitri and Maria enter. When had they come or had they been there all along?

Arielle listened to what Dimitri said and had a feeling that he now knew just as much as everyone else in the room did. When he looked at her, she could see an understanding in his eyes and she could feel herself smile lightly. "Yes, I'm glad I'm okay too."

Maria walked over, standing next to Dimitri and smiled, "Sleeping Beauty is finally up. Welcome back."

Arielle smiled and soon her door opened again. This time, it was her doctor who came in to check on her again. At the sight of her awake, her doctor smiled in relief and excused himself to check and make sure she was doing well. After that, he let them know that she would probably be in the hospital for another day before she was discharged, and that when she was home, she couldn't eat any solids for about two weeks so that her stomach could be in good repair after their operation and surgery. When they all understood, he told Arielle he was happy to see her awake and left, leaving the girl and her friends in the room.

"And I was really looking forward to going to that Japanese restaurant too," Arielle said with a sigh.

"Don't worry, Arielle," Maria said with a smile, "When you're allowed to eat solid foods, we'll all go for a celebration. Just the four of us. Until then, take it easy and don't push yourself to do anything."

"B-B-But I have to help out with Kedrick's home," Arielle began to protest but only gave up knowing that Maria was right.

"I'm not saying you shouldn't help out still, just, please don't push yourself," Maria said with a small smile before yawning.

"Maria, go home and get some sleep. You can't pull an all nighter for me," Arielle said worriedly before looking at Kedrick and Dimitri, "That goes for you guys too. I'll be fine here."

Maria rolled her eyes and only laughed, "But we are going to because we're such good friends. And you know you'd be bored like crazy if we didn't stay here. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go make a call."

Arielle sighed and could only smile lightly, knowing that convincing Maria was hopeless, and she knew that Kedrick wouldn't leave her side. Dimitri, she wasn't too sure about, but he probably would stay with her too. She gave Maria a small wave as she walked out the room, most likely making a call to her father. She had to remember to thank the chief as well when she saw him and his entire team. I owe them all my life, she thought gratefully, lying back in her bed and making herself as comfortable as she could.

Kedrick Suwa

Kedrick smiled slightly at Arielle. "Don't be silly." He said, kissing her forehead. "Of course we're going to stay here. And don't even think about arguing it won't be good for you." He said tweaking her noes lightly. Kedrick wanted to say something more to Arielle, he had been so close to loosing her today that kisses on the forehead and tweaks on the noes didn't seem like enough.

Dimitri looked at Kedrick curiously, He had that funny look in his eyes again, the look Dimitri had never been able to figure out. He stood up suddenly. "Can I get you something?" He asked, looking at his friend, trying to sound annoyed so Kedrick wouldn't guess how worried about him he was.

Kedrick looked up tiredly, smiling at Dimitri. "A cup of coffee maybe?" He asked, relived that he would have some time along with Arielle. "Something really strong."

Dimitri snorted in disgust. "Why you like that stuff I'll never know...." He grumbled softly, shaking his head. Kedrick just smiled at his friend. Dimitri looked at him though half closed eyes, willing him to change his mind about the coffee. Finally he sighed. "Okay. Okay, fine. One cup of..." Dimitri paused, shuddering. "Coming right up..." He growled softly and left the room.

Dimitri stepped into the hallway, passing Maria who was busy on the phone. He waved lightly to her as he walked by. Dimitri exited the hospital walking a few blocks down the street to a nice gas station. A bell jiggled above him as he stepped though the glass doors. He walked up the the counter, resting an elbow on it. " 'Scuse me." He said to the young woman, calling her attention over to himself. She smiled, turning to him. "Yes, can I help you." "yeah." Dimitri said, tracing a pattern of the counter top with his index finger. "I need a cup of coffee, something strong." The young woman pointed back to the corner of the store. "The urns are over there, you pay for it here." She said, and Dimitri nodded his thanks. He stalked over to the coffee urns and pulled out a cup, holding it under the nearest coffee urn and pushing up the lever. The black liquid streamed from its spout, bubble and hissing on it's way down. 'it looks like mud.' Dimitri though, wrinkling his nose at the smell. 'Hot, stinky, bitter mud. Kedrick owes me a buck for this junk....'

Kedrick looked back down at Arielle as he found himself alone with her. He smiled, and was suddenly taken by a sense of urgency. "Arielle." He said, touching her shoulder gently, his eyes flashing bright with suppresses emotion. "Arielle...I....I can't bear to ever loose you." He blurted suddenly, taking both her shoulders. "I can't even think about coming close again. So I want you to know...right now...that I love you, more than anything. Your....you're my whole world..." He said trialing off softly.

Arielle smiled gently at Kedrick as he kissed her forehead. They had a point but they had gone through so much earlier that she just wanted them to rest peacefully. She giggled as he tweaked her nose lightly. She made a face at him before giggling some more, "Fine, fine. You guys win this. For now."

She looked up at Dimitri when he asked Kedrick if he wanted anything. When Kedrick asked Dimitri to get him some coffee, Arielle couldn't help but react with how Dimitri reacted about the topic of coffee. She could tell that Dimitri was hardly a coffee person at all. She only waved lightly to Dimitri as he left before trying to make herself comfortable in her bed.

Maria had been in a discussion with her father ever since she left Arielle's room. First, when he answered somewhat tiredly, she let him know that Arielle was awake and doing well. She filled her father in, repeating everything that the doctor said word from word so that he could tell Arielle's grandparents.

During her talk with her father, Maria saw Dimitri leaving Arielle's room and returned his wave, wondering where he was going. She was going to ask him when her father brought her back to his attention, asking if she was ready to come back home. She paused and gave it some thought before telling her dad she'd come home in about two hours before ending her call.

She was going to go back in the room when she realized that probably Kedrick wanted to be alone with Arielle for some time, given the fact that he had almost lost her. Maria almost lost her best friend as well, but she knew that at that moment, Kedrick deserved to be in that room with Arielle more than she did. Of course she would go back in, but she would give them some time. She walked back over to the seat that she and Kedrick were sitting at not too long ago and sighed lightly, glad to put everything that happened behind her now that Arielle was fine.

Arielle looked up at Kedrick when he called her name. She looked into his eyes and wondered if there was something troubling him. She never said anything as he let what he was thinking flow freely from his lips. She felt her stomach go all funny as Kedrick told her that she was his world. She smiled sweetly and lifted her hand to his cheek before leaning in to kiss him, moving back with her smile still on her face. "I love you too, Kedrick. And I never want to put you through anything like that or even come close to losing you again... You're everything to me, Kedrick."
