Kuoni felt herself tighten again. Her own owner hadn't known about her return until just a while before the birth. There hadn't been much time for a serious talk. And the father.... She sobbed once, biting it off as best as she could.
Fiorenza had mentioned daddy... "Have you- talked to daddy lately?" She asked hesitantly. She knew Enigma came here every night to see his mate, but it was debated whether or not he came in and actually talked to her. He never said, just going to bed and avoiding the topic the next day.
Tersi grumbled and wriggled away from her sister. "Come on! You're squishing me." She whined, trying to hide the sudden pang of hurt she felt. They'd be sad if she had been the one picked. Wouldn't they? She hadn't thought of that...
Nima stepped off Tersi, her face scrunched from glaring. She turned back to Aphrodite, who made her feel slightly better. "Momma trusts you. I'm glad you're here to help. Do you know who Blue will pick?"
Wyatt shook his head. "Don't be such a crumbum. You like my lectures." He said with a slight smirk. He was silent for a moment, then sighed, speaking softly and calmly. "Just try to not hold it against her. We all know she loves you. So do I. I'll miss you." He blinked away a tear that had fought it's way out, turning quickly and headed back for the door and the living room.

Fiorenza shook her head. "No." She said curtly before softening up, "Why don't we go back in?"
Doc shook his head. He did not enjoy Wyatt's lectures at all; they were so boring. He looked up after his brother left the room. "I'm not holding it against her..... not really. Just the fact that she didn't tell me right away." He muttered to himself.
Aphrodite shook her head. "I have no clue who Blue will pick. She makes some odd choices sometimes." She said turning to Lux, "Lux? Is that you? Why are you so quite?"
Lux looked up at Aphrodite's questions. "Yes it's me." She said sighing, "I'm just thinking about what Blue told me in the kitchen." She was not liking the news Blue had given her.

"Oh." Kuoni flicked her ears back sadly, if it was possible for her to look more upset. So he didn't go in... What is he waiting for? With Fiorenza's curt "no," Kuoni let it go for now.
She squeaked open an eye to look at the cabin. She was a mother now. She needed to grow up. Holding her breath, she stood shakily, eyes flicking to and from Fiorenza with a small nod. She shook herself and padded up the steps, trying to calm down before her pups could see the mess she was.
'Please don't yell at me, please don't yell at me, please don't yell at me-' She crossed the threshold. "Sorry for that. I just- needed a moment." She said gently to those there. Then she noticed the mood and tensed, assuming they were mad at her and waited for someone to snap at her.
Tersi was stuck in her own mind. Nima could get pretty mad at her... wouldn't she miss her own little sister? Wouldn't Wyatt miss her? He was always jumping between to two girls when the snapped. Momma would miss her. Grandpa Enigma too. Right?
Nima sighed. "I hope we can find out before we leave." She turned and looked at Lux. "What's wrong?" She asked, upset by the look on the adult's face. She looked over at Kuoni and hopped over. "Something got Lux upset momma."
Wyatt cast a small glance at the bedroom door he had just come through. 'I hope he comes out soon.' He thought to himself. Facing the room again, he frowned at all the disturbed faces. "What up with you?" He asked everyone. Even Tersi wasn't grinning to herself... what had happened? Was it still the Doc going away thing? At leats mom was back inside.

Fiorenza followed Kuoni inside and looked around. "What? Did something else happen?" She said noticing the mood.
Aphrodite shook her head. "It's alright Kuoni." She said, "Nothing really happened. Although I was hoping Lux would tell us what Blue told her." She left out the little incident with the two girls.
Lux snapped out of it when she heard Aphrodite. "Well.... um..... Blue just told me why she decided to adopt Doc..... She figured that he was Fiorenza's family and that it would be nice to have him here with her....." She said muttering something else at the end. She hoped no one caught the fact that she had muttered that Blue had told her who Doc's guardian is.

Kuoni patted Nima's head, then tilted her own. "So, why did she tell only you this?" She asked. "Wouldn't Blue tell that to momma instead? Or one of the other family?" Her eyes narrowed in thought. Unless...
Tersi suddenly burst into tears. Realizing that she hadn't thought yet about how she would miss Doc, she figured that that would be how the others would have reacted to her being picked. They wouldn't have missed her! She cried and glomped into Nima, clinging closely to her big sister.
Nima licked at Kuoni's paw, then nodded. "Then did she tell you who would- Yipe!" She squeaked in suprise as Tersi glomped her. "Tersi! What is it?" She asked, quickly going into big sister mode.
Wyatt flicked his ears. What had Lux said at the end? He frowned slightly, then tried to look positive. "He will have lots of relatives here." He said with a nod of agreement.

Lux looked at Kuoni as if the answer was obvious. "Well Blue went into the kitchen and you ran out and Fiorenza followed you." She said, "I was the only one to go after Blue. I'm sure she'll be out once she's done putting stuff away."
"That is true. Lux was the only one to go talk to Blue." Aphrodite said, "I'm sure Blue will tell you when she comes back out here." Fiorenza was nodding in agreement at what Aphrodite said.

Kuoni once again felt she was being argued against. The look on Lux's face didn't help. She clenched her jaw to fight a remark to justify her thinking. She thought Blue would have told the family first. But her own ideas never got her anywhere. She mearly nodded and sat down, looking blankly at the floor.
When Tersi started crying, Kuoni nearly jumped out of her fur. "Tersi?" She ran over and hugged both girls closely. "What happened honey?"
Tersi blinked rapidly, trying to calm herself. She wasn't looking very attractive, she thought to herself. She looked up at Kuoni with a weak smile and snuggled into her comforting warmth. "Just needed a hug." She mumbled.
After the initial shock, Nima stared wide eyed at Tersi. She licked her cheek, then scooted away to stand by Fiorenza. Nima was not the one who needed the hug. She knew their mother's love wasn't superficial. It made her smile slightly to know her sister really did have some emotion inside.
Wyatt watched his family and shook his head. What an emotional group it was...

After several more minutes Blue finally walked out of the kitchen and into the living area. Lux began to hobble away but Blue stopped her. "Lux you should stay here as well." She said sitting down on the couch, "I guess you want some info." She was looking at Kuoni when she said this. "Well I'll tell you what I said to Lux. I choose Doc Holliday because I figured with his markings he was some how related to Fiorenza and with the way she's been it would be good to have someone else who's related to her here." She said, "Plus he was so adorable that I couldn't pass him up..... and then to find out that your owner is my best friend."
Lux sighed when she was stopped and stayed where she was. It wasn't going to be pretty what Blue would say next.
Fiorenza looked at Blue touched by her owner's kindness. "Blue..... you didn't have to do that." She said going up to the human, "I don't need anyone else to keep me company."
*Aphrodite is sitting back and listening*

Kuoni was looking down at Tersi, and kept her eyes there. The human was probably talking to her own wolves... She'd still hear it. "He's a beautiful boy." She said quietly in agreement with Blue's 'adorable' statement. 'Your owner?' She was talking to her. Kuoni raised her eyes slowly.
She looked at Fiorenza and frowned. "Yeah. Daddy should be doing that." She grumbled under her breath, turning back to Blue. "So... I keep hearing you picked him because of his relation to Fiorenza. But who's going to watch over him?"
Tersi: *snugglies*
Nima: *watches silently, moving to sit with Wyatt as Fiorenza moves away to talk to the human*

Blue grinned at Kuoni's question. "I've been wondering when you'd ask. I'm going to have Lux take care of him. Of course Fiorenza and Aphrodite will be helping as well as any of my other wolves who stay here. But Lux will be his guardian although she's not going to be doing much right now due to her injuries." She said, "I'm hoping that her being in charge of someone else will dampen her daredevil stunts. Plus she'll probably know right away if Doc is planning anything like that."
Fiorenza looked over to Lux and finally understood that look when she came in with Kuoni. "Oh Lux. You'll do fine and you really shouldn't be doing any dangerous stuff as it is." She said with a chuckle, "And Blue is right. I'll help you out."
Aphrodite nodded in agreement. "Well Kuoni it seems your savior is now your son's guardian..... Very suitable for her." She said smiling.
Lux: *is keeping quite and trying to sneak away*

Kuoni closed her eyes a moment. 'Lux...?' She detatched herself from Tersi with a small coo, the trotted quickly to stand in front of Lux before the white/blue female could get away.
"You. ...you went out of your way to help me find my dad. You put yourself in danger to help me, even though we had just met that day." Through all her emotions, she was able to bring up a small smile and rubbed her head against Lux's. "I know you'll raise him well, and watch over him with your greatest will."
She kept her head against Lux's for her own comfort. "Please, don't let him forget me." She whispered. "I'll try to come by when I can to see him."
Tersi: 'Meh? Didn't anyone else notice I was crying? Pay attention dang it!' *sighs heavily, clinging closer* 'Bwah! Now she left!' stressed
Nima tilted her head, then wagged her tail. Momma seemed comfortable with it.
She yipped softly, then nudged Tersi. "Better?" She asked, snickering at the grumble she recieved.
Wyatt frowned. Lux was a daredevil? Doc didn't need that kind of encouragement! But, if mom was happy with it...

Lux sighed when Kuoni stood in front of her. "Yeah.... sure." She said embarrassed, "Don't worry. He'll probably be begging for you after a day or two. Besides it's kinda hard to forget your family. Why do you think Fiorenza is the way she is now." She looked off towards the bedroom and sighed again. "I'll go bring him out." She hobbled off to go get Doc.
After seeing Kuoni accept her decision Blue got up and stretched. "Well I've got to go make dinner." She said. Suddenly a course of yips and barks could be heard from all around the cabin. "Sounds like everyone is hungry...." She muttered walking to the kitchen.
Fiorenza smiled. "So Kuoni are you going to be staying for dinner?" She asked.

Kuoni flinched from the comment about her mother, then watched warily as Lux left to get Doc. "If he doesn't want to come out, don't force him." She said hesitantly.
She tilted her head in confusion at Fiorenza, then shook her head. "Dinner? Oh, it's getting late. I should get them home." Her head sank as she remebered the trip back would be one short. She fought it off by noticing the dim light outside. "Gosh! It's later than I thought!" She nibbled her lip. It wouldn't be easy keeping track of all three pups in the dark... It'd be slow going. And she remembered her last dusk trip. "Maybe, we should stay. Do you think Blue would mind? I'm not hungry, but I'm sure the children are." She said, looking at them questioningly, hoping they were really hungry. She didn't want to take them out there anywhere near nighttime.
Tersi looked up hopefully. "Dinner? Can we stay?"
Nima's stomach grumbled and she giggled. "I can wait till we get home though." She said politely.
Wyatt shrugged. "Whatever you want mom." He peeked over at Fiorenza bashfully. "Though... I am hungry."

"Of course you guys can stay." Fiorenza said smiling, "Then dinner it is." She wagged her tail happy that they would be staying.
Aphrodite stood up and started walking to the kitchen. "I'll go let Blue know that you guys are staying. She'll probably need some help." She said before going into the kitchen.
Lux hobbled into Blue's room and spotted Doc on her bed. She heaved a sigh and walked over. "Come on Doc. You better come back out to the living area. It's dinner time..... almost." She said nudging the pup, "Plus your mom has stuff she wants to tell you." She then began walking to the door.
Doc looked up when Lux came in. He laid his head down ready to ignore her when she nudged him. "Fine I'm coming." He said getting up. He then followed her to the door and to the others.

Kuoni looked at the floor and closed her eyes. no night walking yet. "Thank you." She said to the others. Her ears flicked forward at attention when Lux and Doc returned. She nibbled on her lip as she wondered if he could forgive her selfishness.
"Doc... may I speak with you outside please." She said, heading for the door. She paused, about to check if he was following, but stopped herself. She went out. He would follow if he would follow... she didn't want to force anything. There would be time to talk in the morning if he didn't want to now. At least, she hoped there would be.
Tersi jumped up. "Yay! Food!" She stopped short and shook her head, tossing on her cute smile. "I mean, how nice." 'Food and a new audience!'
Nima smiled. "Thanks grangran!" She yipped, while trying to find a cute name to call grandma. 'Grandma' was too traditional...
Wyatt sighed happily at the thought of food. Besides, it was almost dark. He wouldn't be able to see any of the plants well enough, nor his family.
He looked up as Lux came back out with Doc. With a small pang, Wyatt curled his tail close, then tried to distract himself by getting into a playful batting match with Nima.
