Aury sighed and began to purr again.

Red swirled out of the fires back into the realm of his family and walked up to his parents and son. The Elder Wolf was there waiting for him, watching the scenes that had been playing in a smokey vision.

"And it is done."

"Good. Just as you told him that he can't decide to give or take her happiness, you can't decide to give or take thiers."

"I'm inclined to agree with mah brother though. She's too young. He IS too old. There are too many factors."

"Youre too systematic Three G. Stop thinking with your head, and even if you faked it for him, do it for yourself, and start thinking with your heart."

Red laughed, he always found it funny when the Elder Wolf tried to keep up with the times and make nicknames for the younger ones. As his name was Gee Gah Gay she had started calling him Three G.
"Perhaps I am, Elder, but I can't help that. No matter the outcome, I wish for their happiness. Maybe things will turn out fer the better, but I do worry that her bein so young will cause them ta fight a lot. She's seen a lot in her time, but she's rash, quick ta make choices that neednt be made based purely on her fleeting and current emotion."

"Just like you did with your wife?"

"We were both young at that point. I'm saying that Guh Nah Gay is bound to do things the way he always has. He'll go slow and steady, sternly walking the path he chooses. She'll take something he says in ernest the wrong way and run off, much like she did a mere few days ago. If ye recall thats the whole reason yer greatgrandson was IN a coma."

"I know well why he was put in harms way, and I know why he did it. It's his love for Aury that set his mind to do the things he did. But Aury herself knows how she feels about your brother. She couldn't bare the thought of living without him, knowing that he may never come back. And the pain of seeing him everyday, the strong idol of power she'd fallen in love with, broken down to a vegatable living by the power of machines. It crushed her. That is why she thought about suicide. But those thoughts are gone from her mind now."

"Can ye be so sure? Who's ta say somethin won't happen again?"

He bowed and laid down next to his son, watching the events unfold with his family.

Wolf was caught off guard by her licking him and hiseyes went wide and his jaw dropped a little in shock...but after a fw seconds he smiled warmly and licked Aury's cheek in return. His midnight gemstone eyes looked deep into her soul, and opened the doors to his for her eyes to see as well. He held her paw locked in his, and wrapped his tail around hers carefully.

"Ye know...we've got a lot ta catch up on.."

Wolf scratched his behind head with his free hand and looked up at the cieling.

"Heh, well fer instance the last two years... I know a little here and there about ye, but only what ye've let mah brother tell meh. I guess... I guess I want ta know when... when it changed fer ye. Was that why ye stopped sendin him ta talk ta meh three months ago? Ye've been the only thing I've lived ta be with fer the last two years... but I woulda never dreamed of us bein like this now."

Wolf hooked her chin softly with one finger to turn her eyes back toward his. She tried to look away, even after her face was turned, but he put his muzzle right beside hers so their line of sight couldnt be broken.

"There are more important things in this life than the monetary. Yer one of them ta meh. It's why yer here now, instead of chained ta that wall. It's why IM here now and not on top of some roof. Yer somebody I'd give my everythin fer, all ye ever had ta do was ask. Just like ye finally cried out ta meh."

Aury closed her eyes as a little tear fell down her face.
