Today, I was ordering a burger without a bun, because it was the only thing i wasn't allergic to. I explained to the cashier that I was allergic to wheat, to which she responded, "Our buns don't have wheat, they're white bread." I didn't know how to respond. MLIA

Yesterday, my mother, a Chinese immigrant, took my sister and I to the store to pick out a new pair of gardening shoes for her. My sister found a pair of Crocs that were on sale. She brought them to my mother for her approval, and my mother exclaimed in her always too-loud voice, "Oh yes! Those are perfect; I love Cocks!" She didn't realize why we were laughing. MLIA.

Today, I noticed that on the screen of my phone the date reads Mon, Jan 4 2010 Mon. I'm not really sure why the mon is at the end, so I'm just assuming my phone is Jamaican. I like it better now. MLIA.

Today, the vice principal of my school was giving out certificates for perfect attendance. At one point, he kept calling one person's name, only to be told that they were absent. Oh, the irony. MLIA
