"Your right!" but as he looks around, he sighs.
"And that." he gestures to the ruble of the Orange Mechanism, "...Was my shop. Dammit, I'll have to rebuild it, but beter."

Erk turned around with a smile, that quickly faded to dumbfoundment. "Aparently it already is..." indeed, many of the buildings had been rebuilt, beter than new.
"Probably thanks to the amount of tech we have down here compared to up there." said Erk, gesturing in the rough direction of Kaibina.

Thatch would make a rather odd sight, even in this place.
His jacket bound around his waist as he sweated rather profusely, he put his muscles into the task of dragging a large canvas which let off scraping noises when the tears in it allowed the contents of scrap metal to meet the paving stones. Thatch was a strong man, and despite bolstering his efforts with the minor wind runes he knew (marked out along the sheet), his load was rather unfortunatly heavy.
This metal probably requires some explanation.
Having declared the effective 'Train Graveyard' his base of operations, Thatch had set about spending his time gathering up bits of the metal from some of the more bust up looking trains that sat in the old shed. Loose sheets hear, old wheels there, bits and pieces he could break off etc until he was able to fill an old canvas sheet with them. He didn't know how much his scrap would be worth, but he was going to need some capital in order to fund a new pirating venture.
Pausing to wipe his brow, the pirate cast about to see if he could spot anyone who might be interested in purchasing scrap metal. From her place atop the make-shift sack, Train yawned.

"30!" "31!" "34!"
"I hear 34! Going once, going twice..." The wrench struck the barrel. "Sold for 34 to the gentleman with the red beard!"
Standing by an old oil drum, and wielding a wrench given as part of payment for a sheet of metal, Thatch had taken to conducting a 'junk auction'. It was convienient, as he didn't have to walk, drew in a good few customers, and it amused people, giving him a nice crowd. Handing over the small stack of gears, he proceeded onward.
"Our next item Ladies and Gentleman, is this genuine bonafide large sheet of metal, bearing two lovely decorative dents!" Yes, it certainly amused people, no-one had made blatant scrap so enjoyable to pick up. "This is a must have item for any budding engineer, and is also suitable as evening wear in Asiso I believe!" Generaly laughing from the crowd as he made a rough impersonation of using it as a dress. "Shall we start the bidding at 20? I see 20! Do I have an advance on 20!?"

"Yeah, helps that they also have all their automons and plenty of experience in it. I think they've all blown up a portion at some point." he looked at his shop... "Still, I don't think any one shop has been so blatantly targeted before... they tore out the centrall suport and everything..." He searched throught the wreckage... eventualy pulling out a tube of bluprints and spred it over a flat stone.
It was the Orange mechanism, "Lets see now how can I make it beter for next time?" he layed another sheet over it, and in momnets had traced the loyout exactly. He was a fast worker, thats why he was one of the geniuses of mainstreet.
Meanwhile... The Lich king came in, nearly dancing as he walked. He surveyed the destruction and breathed a deep rateling breath.
"So many bodies... I think I'll have to clean them all out of here."
He pulled out his book and began reading from it. The bodies soon began rising, shambling across the wrecked ground. Those who couldn't found others, and joined with them to make enough parts. They were the most base of undead, capable of nothing other than hard manual labour. Their souls were still in limbo, and it would take more power than thelich king could muster to make them all full time undead right this moment.
"I apologize for the delay." he said, bowing to all the horrified Machinists. "The Necropolis mortuary surface was never informed of the amount of casualties this area sustained, but we have come to take them all away at last."
He turned and began folowing the group of battle scared corpses. "All sumon minions... unfortunate, they have little in the way of souls and bodily strength... I'll have to make them all recominants..." he mused as he walked away.

Blink. Blink.
"Oooooookay." Thatch drolled, watching as the unmoving bodies became moving ones. It had certainly put a bit of a damper on the good mood he had been trying to generate.
'So we've got a big league corpse jockey in town...this could be interesting.' he mused, before working to re-capture his crowd's attention and resume scrapping in some funds.

beginner was to busy looking over erks blue prints to notice something so frivial as the dead arising from there slumbers and walking once more "thats a good design but what about something like this?" she grabbed a blank blue paper and began designing some modifications to the orange mechanism that would make it the larget mechanized endevor shes ever considered "give it an orbital defense ring which we can jury rig from the broken parts along the perimiter and with this design your shop should be a very efficient mecha" she was very enthralled in the project

"Money, money, money! It's so funny! In a rich man's world!"
Thatch sang, tossing one of his two money bags up and down in his hand as he walked through the damaged mechanical wonderland. Scrap metal certainly was valuable, and there was plenty more of it back at the yard. He'd have all that he needed in no time.
Of course, he was no mechanic...he was going to need some information and ideas before he started playing around trying to get one of the old steamer's to work. Casting about, he moved the bag to his pocket (his coat now once more adorning his shoulders) and set off in search of a mechanic who may know something useful.
"Meow." Was Train's only comment, following at his heels.

"WAit, are you saying we should turn the whole shop into a gigantic mecha?" Erk was slightly taken abakc, but the idea didn't seem entirely bad.
"It would allow me to mave my projects along with me, but I think if we do we should go multipedal instead of bipedal." he bgan adding to his work sheet, taking in several of beginners modifications. "How about we leave at least a small imoble portion for a repair base, then link it to my subteranean workshop..." he began drawing faste, "And while were at it, why don't we over haul the whole compound?"
On that lark, he began redrawing all of the structures, making his hanger easily five times its original size with an even larger anti chamber, as well as adding a rocketry tower. To his testing fields (which admitedly were nothing more than a lot with targets at one end. He began to add a balistic labs and a simulation shed. The last touch was what apeared to be a gigantic automated smelter and foundry.
"Now just for the defenses..."

beginner nodded "how about giving it twelve seprate legs with tank treds?" beginner suggested drawing out modifications that would allow for the base to be mobile with even four legs remaining in the event of an attack. "and how about you build the mech building around the stationary bit and reinfoce it like a bomb shelter?" begin looks over the plans he is drawing up "if you use the building for refrence you could make an array of cybernetic steampowered aeriel droids that patroll the perimiter and properly equip each one of them with a sizable armory"

Leaning on a chunk of debris, Thatch had begun listening in on the 'tech-talk', and had begun to envision a mighty 'doom-train', heavily armoured with some kind of boosters and miniture broadside cannons...
Well, maybe after some looting...he had about enough cash to get a train working. Scrutinizing the face, he made a note to come back one day, before turning and heading off for the market. He had to get something.
