Amelia frowned a little as she went over to Sue. "Does that mean you think we all shouldn't have met...?" she asked. "I miss Magvel, yes, but... this is my home now, after all... I was alone for years back on Magvel, and then I sort of had a family with the army, but... I have a family here. I have great friends here. I'd love to see my mother, but..." Amelia sighed. "Let's just wait to see if there's even a chance of anyone being able to return to where they had been."

"Maybe you're right, and maybe you're wrong Sue. But I still think us coming here was no mistake, whether we came here on purpose or by accident. A door will not appear to you by accident. Therefore, there must be a reason why it appears." Isadora replied.

"As for our friendships," Isadora spoke as she walked to the nomad girl and placed her hand on the shoulder. "It is hard to tell whether it was meant to be or not. But you have to admit that we have the good times and bad times of being together. Remember the motto, together we ride."

Alihi stood up. "So, we came here by accident. But we still are making the best of this 'accident', right? If you truly care about the people you've come to meet here... then maybe it wasn't an accident. Maybe it was... fate." Her words came out harsher than she intended, but the message (hopefully) was clear.

"Mfm Minm?" Nils swallowed the food he was chewing. "... Ice King?" His expression fell, wondering.
"... Who would leave, if they got the chance? I know I wouldn't... There was nothing for me back at home. And besides," He glanced up momentarily at Fire Dragon before looking back down at the now-empty tray. "... I've got new friends now."

Amelia thought about Alihi's words. "Yeah... yeah, I think you're right," she agreed. "Everything in life happens for a reason, right? This has to be part of that." She ran a hand through her hair, still plagued with massive bedhead. She looked at Isadora, then Sue, then Alihi, and back to Sue. "Are we... helping at all?"

Isadora nodded of what Alihi and Amelia said. It was what she had said, everything must come with a reason, no matter if it was on purpose or accident. However, if the nomad was not convinced, then maybe her culture may help her. "Sue, if you have doubts, maybe you can ask the Great Mother to show your some guidance. Ask her whether your existence in this land was a mistake or not."

". . . Nothing is a mistake." The bishop's voice spoke up, clear and strong with his conviction. "We were meant to meet here, have no doubt of that. Look around you." The man spread his arms, gesturing at the people, the house, everything they'd come to know and love. "Even though we may not know how or why we have come here, can any of us say that it has been a bad experience? Each of the people here has gained something in our time together. . . For one, our little. . . family. Is it not true, Sue, that you were happy here?" He smiled, some of the others likely seeing him like this for the first time. "Even people like myself and Vaida have begun to belong, though we may not say so. I believe that this was one of the reasons we are here; to learn more about ourselves and these people we were fated to meet."

Amelia turned as she heard Father Renault's voice nearby. "Yes..." she murmured, smiling a little. She looked back at Sue, the smile only widening. "You see? Whether or not you planned on leaving, hasn't your time here been worth anything?" Amelia put her fists on her hips, but she was still smiling. "We're a family. A large, sometimes dysfunctional family not connected by blood, but a family nonetheless." She looked over at Father Renault, then back at Sue. Mother... I don't think you'll be too sad if I don't come back... right?

"Well, I'm happy here."

A familiar man with orange hair, complete with blue pants, shirt, overcoat, and a hat with a feather in front (not to mention the usual brown boots) came bounding down the stairs, looking significantly better since last night. One might've said he looked like a Blue Mage, a spellcaster said to learn the abilities of monsters in some tales.

"Err... sorry about the angst," Rhys said, a bit embarrassed at his past antics. Man, what a pity party THAT was! "But yeah, these Priests-in-training--and Father Renault," he added, with a respectful nod to the Bishop, "have a point. I for one... believe I'll stick around. If you're dandy here, Sue, maybe you should, too."

Amelia smiled when she heard Rhys' voice, moving a few paces to stand next to him. "Good. I mean, for one, the Host Club would be lost without you," she commented. Amelia looked over at Rhys and studied the new clothing, her expression brightening a little more. "New threads," she observed. "They look good on you."

The now-General looked back at Sue, her expression shifting to something more placating. "Well? Have we helped at all?" She beamed. "We're all staying, we'd miss you too much if you went back to Elibe."

I . . . don't have any reason to leave, Ninian thought. Elibe . . . is no longer a home for Dragonkind. I don't know very many people here very well, but . . . I'm happy here.

Tibarn slept long into the morning after staying up all night. On his door, he had hung a little sign that read: "Asleep with Ayra. Wake us only in the event that something is going to kill us if we don't get out of the house."

Soft, content snores could be heard from within the room.

Ed grinned back at Valter as though to say, "Of course I wouldn't leave you." She grinned at Tibarn, rubbing her tears out of her fur; she wagged her tail at Sue while rotating her ears in Vaida's direction; looked happily at Renault when he came near; and smiled at Fiora.

Nor could she tell the difference between night and morning any more.

"I've learned to open up to you guys." Melethia said. She looked away trying to hold back the tears she was wanting to shead.

Renault moved over to Melethia and placed a hand on her shoulder gently. Today was an emotional day; perhaps a day when he was actually needed, when he could, as a bishop, truly comfort people. "I am glad to hear that," he told her softly. "I would like to see. . . everyone here trust each other. And of course, I am always willing to listen to any of you that would like to talk." This last sentence was directed more towards the room in general than simply Melethia.

Sage Leander

Leander had awoken early; he'd found, in the end, that sleep would not come to him. Possibly he did not need it, or possibly nightmares waited on the fringes of consciousness, waiting to plague him with the sight of his lover in the throes of death.

Quietly, he coughed, stepping out of the basement where the locked door was. "Please, all of you," he said, addressing all present, "Would you be so kind as to follow me?" He turned, waiting for people to start filing down toward The Door, and explained as he stepped lightly down the stairs, "From what you have all told me, there are many doors that lead to Learania, scattered throughout your worlds, but this seems to be the only door out... or at least, the only one we know of." He reached the bottom of the stairs and approached the eerie door, tapping it lightly.

"I spent all night examining the magics that surround this door, and... well, it could take you home, yes," he murmured. "But there's a certain strain in the magic that locks onto the person who holds the key, you see... And it would return you to your world, at the exact place and time where you left it. All indications say that once you left, you would be unable to return." He sighed and shook his head, but then looked up again. "It also seems," he added, "That all the keys to this door have been used. I am... sorry. This magic is beyond even my power to manipulate. If there was something I could do..."

He turned away from the door, tapping his staff lightly against it by accident.

There was a click.

The door swung open.
