Serenity's eyes lit up even brighter, and she stepped close. "Of course I would love to," she giggled. "Did you really have to ask?"

She took the tiny dark-haired infant from Elnara's arms, cradling him carefully in her own.

Once Elnara's arms were empty, Beren stepped forward and picked her up, holding her with one arm behind her back and the other beneath her knees. "You need a bath," he teased her as he began to carry her out of the room.

As soon as Garrick was taken from Elnara, he broke out into a fresh wail, his face turning a bright shade of red as he let his displeasure be known.

Elnara watched him anxiously until her father picked her up, and at his comment she giggled weakly and though she normally would have slapped his arm playfully, now she didn't have the strength.

"I know," she told him with a wan smile. "But they need to eat first ... and then ... if I have the strength ... I will wash."

"Someone isn't happy," Lore murmured as he shifted to get off the bed since Elnara was off of him.

He looked down at his legs as he struggled a bit to sit up. It was kind of funny in a way he never felt more stiff having sat in the bed with Elnara on him for so long.

"I think my legs fell asleep."

Serenity giggled at Lore. "Let them cry. It strengthens their lungs, and after nearly a year in a place where they didn't need to breathe ... they need it. Just let them cry. They'll stop on their own."

Beren chuckled at Lore. "Well, if you're really desperate, I could carry you after I've carried Elnara," he teased his son in law, "but otherwise you're just going to be stuck there until you can walk again."

And he chuckled again and left the room with Elnara, taking her down the hall to the room where Alyse was staying.

Elnara felt strangely anxious as she was carried out of the room and her children were lost to her view, and despite the fact that she knew that their crying was natural, and even a good sign, she couldn't help but worry a bit as her father carried her to the other room.

"They're all coming right away, right?" she asked anxiously, peering over his shoulder and trying to see who if anyone was following.

Lore should have seen that one coming, but couldn't help but shake his head with a grin. He waited a while tapping his foot on the floor to get more feeling back into it quicker. When he was sure his legs weren't going to give out from under him he stood up so he could follow the two.

"That's good to know," he murmured to Serenity, "Come on, I saw a worried look in Elnara's eye."

Serenity smiled and nodded, letting Lore lead the way.

"Elnara's always been one to worry," she murmured, "at least since her father was killed ... though she was carefree enough as a child."

Beren set Elnara down on Alyse's bed and pulled the blanket up over her, adjusting the pillows behind her back so that she could still sit up.

"They're right behind us," he assured her. "They'll be here in just a second."

Elnara nodded, though she still felt anxious. She could hear the babies' cries growing louder, however, and she could tell that they were indeed coming closer ...

Hana didn't like to be jostled it seemed since she too was crying as Lore headed towards the other room. There wasn't much she could do however but let her cry, though he did cradle her a bit. Since she had been quiet a bit before.

He entered the room to see Elnara waiting for them.

Serenity entered the room behind Lore, and she made her way straight to Elnara and returned Garrick to her carefully.

"Here you are, sweetheart," she smiled. "Would you like some help starting him off? Though I did see him sucking your finger earlier, you shouldn't have any trouble, I think ..."

"I'll go get a bath ready," Beren murmured, leaving the room. His words were lost in the cries of the babies, but that didn't matter. It was his excuse for leaving the room and giving Elnara and her family their privacy.

Elnara took Garrick gingerly, relaxing once more as Lore and Hana appeared as well.

"I think I'll be fine," she smiled up at her mother, "but I'll call you if I need you."

She turned her eyes to Lore. "Will you ... stay with me?" she asked him, hesitating slightly. She was well aware that he already knew of all her scars, and had seen more of her than anyone else alive, but she had seen some men leave the room while their wives nursed, whether out of discomfort or for wanting to let them be alone, she didn't know - and she didn't know how Lore would feel about it.

Lore nodded, "Yes."

He took a seat beside her holding Hana, he thought she might need help since there were two of them and not just one. Besides the hesitate nature in her voice suggested she would like it if he stayed.

"Don't worry, I'll be right here."

Serenity smiled. "Then I'll see you two in a bit," she murmured, and with a final reassuring pat to Elnara's shoulder, she was gone, closing the door behind herself.

Elnara smiled at her mother as she left, then looked back at Lore, her eyes shining gratefully.

"Thank you," she murmured softly. She began unbuttoning her shirt (what were the odds she had chosen today of all days to wear a button-up shirt?) and cradled Garrick in the crook of one arm, positioning him to suckle from her. It took the wailing infant only a few seconds to figure out what was going on and what to do, and within moments he was quiet and feeding contentedly.

In the sudden (relative) quiet, Elnara noted that Hana's cry was much quieter than Garrick's.

"It's so amazing," she murmured, leaning back comfortably and relaxing, looking at Lore. "They're so new ... so ... perfect ... and yet ... so different ..."

Already it was clear that their differences were more than physical.

"They are... aren't they?" Lore chuckled watching Elnara.

Garrick seemed happy enough now that he was feeding. Well Hana was still fussy, but that's all it seemed to him was she was being fussy.

"Hard to believe a bit even though they're here, actually here."
