Mason awoke to an alarm going off on her phone lying on her desk. She sat up, rubbed her eyes like she had so many times before, and, like all those times, it did nothing to improve her sight. She grabbed her phone which was luckily in reach from her bed, so she didn't have to get up, and quickly shut off the annoying blare. She realized it was a momo that was causing the alarm, but couldn't decipher what it read. She frantically began rubbing her eyes again. "Why do I even bother?" she asked herself, but then began looking around for some way for her to be able to read it. Then it dawned on her.
"Derrik." He had glasses. They more than likely wouldn't be the strength she would need, but they would get the job done. So cell phone in hand, she tip-toed into Derrik's room, but then when she realized he wasn't in there, she looked around on his desk for his spare glasses. Once she found them, she slipped them on and blinked a few times. "Derrik and I can NOT share glasses." She said, peering though his specs. They did improve her sight just enough for her to make out what the memo on her phone said.
Call optometrist to make eye appointment. "That's a bit ironic..." she muttered, replacing Derrik's glasses carefully and quickly leaving the room. She called 411 and began walking down the stairs carefully, as to not run into anything, or stub her slightly throbbing toe.
City, state, and zip code She gave the opperator all the information, and her optometrist's name.
Dr. Rivers' office. "Hello, I need to make an appointment, preferably for today, in the evening." I can schedule you in for 5:30. "That would be great. My name is Casey Mason." Okay, Miss Mason, you are all set. Please be here fifteen minutes before hand for prep and paperwork. "Great, thank you." She hung up and made her way to the kitchen for some breakfast. "Thank god for Derrik." She said, gazing over all the food that now stocked their fridge. She pulled out some jam and got a loaf of bread from the bread box, and began toasting it. While she waited, she turned on the radio, listening to some soft R&B. She sat on the stool in front of the island, and enjoyed her toast with jam, singing along between bites. [[lol, I had some time, so I wrote. A lot.]]

Nathan looked up at Derrik, smiling. He kissed his lips softly and pulled away. "It's morning. I don't need to take it till about 10. 9:50, to be exact. I only have to take two pills every 12 hours." Nathan sat up and reached over to his night stand, taking the bottle of pills. He began looking it over for no reason. "The guy that gave it to me was feeling odd and had went to the doctor's to figure it out. He had a cold the day before we...we...you know. The symptoms were getting a little worse, every day. After three days he went to the doctors. He got tested for everything, but then the came down to AIDS. His parent's knew he was gay, and knew I was his boyfriend, so they contacted my parents, who didn't know. We went in, I got tested, I came out positive, and they gave me these babies." Nathan raddled the bottle. "Fortunantly, we were both tested very early, about 5 day's after I contracted it. That way, I could be treated easier than most patients." Nathan put the bottle to his mouth and looked straight ahead, at nothing in paticular. "I was a virgin, he even knew so. But he still blamed me for it. He called me a flithy, lying, whore and told me to ******** off and never talk to him again. Broke my heart, but I got over it quickly." He put the bottle back and layed back down next to Derrik. He cuddled up to him again and kissesd his chest, running his hands over his kiss softly. "Besides. Now, I have you." He smiled.

"The guy sounds like a p***k. How did he manage to get a gem like you? Was he cute? It wasn't money; you never really had problems with that. Maybe he just had a really huge..." Derrik thought about what he was saying and to whom and paused. Then after a short moment he finished lamely with, "Shoes. Really big shoes." Maybe he should just not speak ever until after he'd had a hot shower. And occasionally a cup of coffee to really make sure his brain was doing its job. Of course, it would also help if he were not just plain distracted by the feel of just holding someone. Derrik did not do cuddling. Not because he didn't like it; he definitely did. He just never stayed long enough.

Nathan laughed hard at his joke. It was lame, but it was cute. "He didn't have any of those. Well, he was cute and his shoes were a fair size, but definatnly does not compare to you in anyway." Nathan said teasingly, and truthfully. He kissed Derrik lightly on the lips and snuggled closer. If he got any closer he'd eventually start moving Derrik closer to the edge of the small bed and off onto the cold hard wood floor. "I don't know how I managed to like him. I guess he was some d**k looking to get laid and decided that I was his last, and maybe only, option. So, we dated, secretly, and we only had sex once, and it was after our third date. It was supposed to be special, but then he found out a baseball game was on, so instead of a fancy, expenisive, french reasturaunt, we went to a bar and grill place. Then, his favorite team lost, and he was pretty pissed the rest of the night, even after the sex. I couldn't believe it. I planned on breaking up with him because of it, but then he broke up with me because we both proved positive. I still don't know why he thought it was my fault. He slept around with men twice our age!" Nathan sighed. He was ranting and venting to Derrik about his ex, and he didn't want to do that. So he decided to bring up a new subject, bu tried to make it a good one so its not obvious that he's changing it. "You really think I'm a gem?" Nathan asked. It was out of curiosity and subject changing. He really wanted to know, because he was never called that. His mom used to call him here precious, but that wasn't something that you can package and give to someone for their birthday and the person actually be excited about it. But, a gem. A gem could be put in a ring, or a necklace. It was lovely, precious, beautiful. It was something every girl wanted, and what Nathan wanted to be. A gem to someone who loved him. And that's when he realised. He realised that when Derrik called him a gem, it was a way to tell Nathan that he loved him. He knew Derrik was uncomfortable with the word. And Nathan was okay with that. He used to be, too. But, now that was all different. Nathan kissed his chest. "I love you." He said after he responded.

"Of course you are a gem. You are also changing the subject, but I will not call you on it. I only would have said very not nice things, anyway. And it is too early to search my vocabulary for all the perfect insults to use for that piece of s**t." Derrik said all of this with a faint smile on his face. Inside, he was actually becoming quite angry. He knew there was no point to it and knew he would never be able to do anything about it, but he was angry all the same. Once again because he would much rather be angry that hurt. It hurt him that anyone he cared about would have to go through what Nathan had the first time he dared to try love. His anger was tinged with a touch of trepidation; wasn't he opening himself up to the same sort of disappointment? Derrik could not have explained why he felt this way. His parents loved one another very much, he believed Annora and John loved each other... why did he have such a hard time believing it could happen to him? Nathan's assurance that he loved Derrik pleased him and disturbed him. What a strange combination. He would have to resolve this.

Arne, who was now feeling good enough to leave the room, rolled put of his bed and yawned. He stood up and looked araund at his collection of stuff before opening his door and walking out quietly. I start classes tomarrow... He made sure the hood was up and walked downstairs into the kitchen. Finding nothing, he decided he wasn't hungry and he sat on a chair in the dining room, waiting for something to happen. About an hour later, Arne got out of the kitchen and walked out of the house. Examining the snow, he walked slowly towards the poolhouse. When he finally managed to get there, he sat down in one of the poolchairs and sighed, enjoying the warmth.

Nathan smiled. He loved getting compliments. It always made him feel better about himself. Nathan rolled over with Derrik, pushing him on his back and Nathan on top of him. He layed his head on his chest and rested his hands on his flat tummy. Nathan loved cuddling. It was one of his favorite things. When he was little, before his dad died, he would sleep in his parents bed if he was scared. He would cuddle up to one of them every night, usually his dad. He felt more protected that way. But, after his dad died, he stopped even wanting to go in there. He would cuddle with his pillow or stuffed animal. Sometimes, when he slept with is sisters, he would cuddle with them aswell. But, this was different. It wasn't a relative or an object, it was Derrik, his newly proclaimed love. Nathan kissed his chest. "Thanks." He was blushing. "Don't think about him. He was a p***k then, and is probably still one today. Just don't worry about him. I'm way over him. Just worry about me." Nathan said, looking up into his eyes.

"Fair enough." Derrik could work out the useless anger later; right now just thinking about Nathan was the best idea he had heard in some time. He wrapped his arms around Nathan and kissed his forehead. Nathan really was adorable; how had he not even noticed? He really had not ever thought of Nathan as an option until that night in the pool house. Though, to be fair, the only male in this house he had previously felt an attraction to... anyway, that was not the point and hardly important. The point was he had somehow not noticed Nathan. "Are you comfortable like this?" Nathan was the taller of the pair; to put his head on Derrik's chest definitely meant losing some of the bed's length. Maybe that was all there was to it. Derrik only chased after men shorter than he was; that rule definitely cut down the number of men he'd actually been with. It was a bit difficult to find someone meeting that criteria.

Mason smiled warmly at Arnold as he walked into the kitchen. When he left without a word, or even a glance, she raised an eyebrow. Was he ignoring her? Maybe he was not speaking to her. She thought back on her actions to try to remember why he would be upset with her. Maybe he was mad because of her problems, and not wanting to see a doctor. She wasn't sure that was the case, but settled on that as the most logical explanation. She finished her toast and walked out into the living room, leaving the kitchen radio playing on the R&B station.

A little while later, Arne got out of the chair and walked out of the pool room shivering in the cold. When he was back in the house, he got the snow off of his feet and walked out into the living room. "Hey Mason!" He said with a smile. Arne had realized that Mason was in the kitchen earlier, but he hadn't felt like talking. "What's up?" He sat down in an arm chair and played with the strings of his hoodie unconciously. "Are you watching this? Or can I change the channel?"

Mason shrugged. "I just walked in." She laughed and sat on the couch arm. "I have no idea what's on." She looked to see Ryan Seacrest on E! News talking about the latest celebrity gossip. She scoffed. "Please change the channel, Arne. I can't stand the way they talk about people on these things."

Arne laughed. "Or maybe I'll make you watch the whole thing!" He turned to VH1 which was showing the top ten playlist. "There, is this ok?" He sat back in the chair and put the foot-rest up. Turning his attention back to the televsion, it was playing Take A Bow. Sighing, he started shaking his foot to the music.

Nathan had closed his eyes, appearing to be asleep, but he responded to Derrik's question. "Mmm...yeah. If I wasn't I wouldn't be laying like this, silly." Nathan giggled. He loved how Derrik was always concerned for him. No matter what it was, he was always asking him if he was alright or okay. Nathan turned and looked at his clock. It read 8:45. "I have to take my pills in an hour." Nathan sighed. He got annoyed by his pills a lot, especially when he was in a public place when his beeper went off. He looked over at his pill bottle and his expression went dim. "You know, I highly recommend sex after marriage now. It's definantly smarter if you ask me." Nathan said. Then he realised what he had done last night and looked up at Derrik. "Even though last night was like magic. God, I didn't know you could reach places in there like that!" Nathan said, giggling. His smiled dimmed and he layed his head back down. He kissed his chest and began rubbing Derrik's tummy.

Colleen awoke to a throbbing pain in her skull and an aching arm. A displeased groan emitted from her, as she simply refused to open her eyes just yet. Left arm darting out from under the covers and over the bed, she attempted to reach her pants which she hoped were on the floor next to her bed. Unfortunately, she wasn't even capable of reaching the floor due to the height of her bed. "I'm'a rip off this bed-post-thing as soon as I'm fully awake, I swear it..." Colleen mumbled grumpily, before just rolling off of the bed. Hitting the floor with a resounding thud, she ironically landed right on top of her pants; Of course, with her pill bottle digging into her hip. She groaned again. Rolling over yet again, and inevitably hitting the dresser, she blindly dug around with her hands until she found her pill bottle. Quickly digging it out of her pants pocket, she swallowed two pills, feeling no need for water. The ache that had began to build up in ehr right arm and shoulder melted away, as her once pounding hangover was reduced to a faint pulsing in the back of her mind.
Getting up with a lopsided but nonetheless content smile, she got dressed for the day. Having completely forgotten about the formerly aggravating bed-frame, she walked out into the living room with slightly glazed over eyes. Spotting Arne and Mason, she raised her right hand and lazily dropped onto one of the couches, half-sprawled-out. "Yo."
