She stopped and turned to look at him, looking a little confused. "Yeah... why do you ask?" she asked in return. "It's just... that I'm happy, is all." she stated, now wondering if she did something wrong.

"No reason. I was just wondering." Perhaps it was her own emotions, perhaps I was an exception as I am with most werewolf symptons it seems. Or perhaps she did not realize she was being swayed. "Do you know any place I might possibly get an overcoat in this town, or perhaps a pub?" I asked hoping to change the subject.

bethany grinned and resumed walking. "There is a men's clothing store /and/ a pub in downtown. Actually the men's store is right next to the coffee shop. Well, almost everything is close to the coffee shop considering the size of this town." she said with a small laugh. "Since we will be passing by the clothing store on the way to the park, did you want to stop in and get yourself a jacket?"

I shook my head. "No not until I get my check then I need to replace the one I gave to a woman, I think two days ago." I said as I walked beside Bethany. "Perhaps when we're done walking through the park I could visit the coffee shop you work at." I said grinning. A guy bumped into me as we walked by him and fell. I stopped to help pick the guy up. "You alright sir?" the man nodded as he took my hand and lifted himself up. "Yeah sorry my mind is somewhere else today." with that the guy walked away from us.

"Yeah, that would be nice." Bethany said, still smiling as they entered downtown. "Only three more blocks." she said, as if she had the layout of the city practically memorized in her head.

I nodded as I looked around. The people here were smiling, and I began to wonder how such a dark night life could inhabit such a peaceful looking town. "Bethany have you ever noticed how violent this town becomes at night? I've yet to see a monster outside of David and the ones at Blood Manor, I had heard this town was crawling with super natural beings." I said as I watched as a man waved to another on the street and saw kids stop riding their bikes and help an old man with crates.

"That's what the rumors say, though besides a bare handful, I've never actually seen them. But yes, I know about the violence. It's one of the reasons why I rarely leave the house at night. Last night... I just couldn't sleep. I don't even know why I ended up in the forest, to tell you the truth." she admitted. "My theory on the violence is that there is probably others here, outside of the manor, but they don't want to live peacefully, so they hide from us, posing as normal humans or only coming out at night. But surely not all of them can be bad... right?"

I nodded. "Perhaps there are monsters who are keeping eyes on their fellow nightwalkers and trying to keep some order to them." I said thinking about the way some other towns and monsters act. "This is a more peaceful place I've been to though. It seems the world is becoming more violent." I said while looking at an elderly couple smiling at us. I nodded to the couple as we walked on.

"That is very likely. Kinda like a preternatural police force or something..." she says, tryiung to envision it as they arrived at the park. There was a playground for children, a petting zoo and a small pond inside the park, along with a good-sized grassy area for picknicks or just playing games. "Oh. Well, here we are..."

I looked around and grinned at all the happy looking faces. Couples were sitting by the pond, children were playing games like tag or frisbee. Even some adults were playing games like football and catch. "This is beautiful Bethany." Like you I thought. "Thank you for bringing me here. What would you like to do while we're here?" I asked not sure what to do around her afraid that the beast might come out any second.

"We could get some crackers from the petting zoo people and just sit down at the pond and feed the fish, if you would like. It would be nice and quiet... and if you get really lucky some of the ducks will waddle right up to you..." she suggested with a small smile as she looked around.

"Sure but through out my travels I noticed that not many ducks come near me. They probably sense the danger within me." I said with a grim smile. "But we can always try." I said in a lighter tone. Looking around I chuckled as I saw almost all the smaller creatures avoid coming near me.

"I don't think it's so much the danger as it is that they can feel the predator inside." She replied with an easy shrug. "Their loss, right?" she asks as she letgo of his hand and walks oner to the petting zoo.

"I'm curious. And you are nice. And I have to admit, you are rather cute." Beth said with another blush. But she paled a little when he asked her how old she was. She glanced away and then looked him straight in the eyes. "I'm... I'm nineteen." she admitted.
