Ian wouldn't have thought less of Fiona for dropping out of high school, when in fact, so had he. "D'ya think the kitchen would have a grill? I am all for borrowing a grill if we could find one. I mean, they probably have cameras everywhere and know about our plans. If they know we want a grill, even if we don't tell them on purpose, its good enough for me." Ian blinked as some of the shaken water splashed onto him.
"I never played anything either. I was more a bookworm. Though I have a fondness for bagpipes. I wonder if anyone on this island plays." He noticed he was drifting from the subject and cleared his throat before starting again. "Posters sound good, since I probably only know little over half the people here." He looked across the river at the far bank. "You know, I don't think I have ever planned a party until now."

"I plan stuff all the time- or well, I used to. Although I like the actual doing more than the planning, it's still fun to think about. My friend Annie is more of a planner than I am. Although it's usually more protests than parties. I don't think I've been to a party since... since..." she squinted, running her fingers through her hair. "Maybe it was the birthday party a couple months ago. But that one wasn't too exciting. Anyway, I think it's an idea we should totally go after. It sucks not having a photocopier, though. Not that I would use it if there was one." She commented spitefully.
"Then again, there isn't much ground to cover since everyone lives in one place. I can just stick a few up around the duplexes and cafeteria. So this guy who plays guitar- what did you say his name was, John or something?- does he ever hang out in any spot in particular? Maybe I can ask him if he wants to play at the party." Fiona tossed a casual glance at Ian, crossing her arms behind her head and flopping back onto the grass. "I'd forgotten how much fun parties are. And I totally expect to see you there."

Well, there was no way he would refuse since she had said she wanted to see him there. "Timothy, and I don't really know where he likes to hang out. If I find him I'll ask though. Someone ought to know which duplex he is in."
Ian reached down twirled patterns in the water with a hand. "When should we have it? That is also rather important. The people will need to know a date."

Her face lit up brightly at his use of 'we'- finally she had an accomplice! "Well, I'm guessing there aren't many things here to keep people busy, like work or school or dentist appointments-" she gave a not-so-discreet shudder- "so it probably doesn't matter too much. But we need to give it some time to spread the word, and get everything organized. We'll need to get some rocks and shovels to dig the fire-pits, and then collect some firewood. And we have to put up those posters and talk to that guitarist." Fiona sat up, rubbing her hands together eagerly. "I'm so stoked. For an actual date... whenever we're ready, I figure. I don't really know what the date is... but if I could figure it out, it would be nice to do it on a Saturday or a Friday, just because. Saturdays and Fridays always feel so much more alive, to me. You wouldn't happen to know what the date is, would you?"

"The date today. . .no not really. I know it is sometime in April. And it is before Easter. I also know that Easter is on the 16th this year. So it is sometime n April, but not yet the 16th." Ian decided that he really ought to find out the date, his own birthday was in May and it was an important day for him. He would be 21 soon.
"So, perhaps a Friday or Saturday in early-May?" A date before his birthday, but late enough to give them time to prepare.
"Yeah, dentist appointments are horrible. Thats why I never went. I'm sure I had plently of cavities. Not that it matters now, animals don't go to the dentist. I'm not even sure there is a dentist on this island." ian guffawed and removed his hand from the water, wiping it on his jeans. "I wish I could be more specific on today's day."

"Maybe even a little later than that... or earlier. I guess it depends on how soon we can get people to help. And I guess I'm not really getting anything done just sitting here, am I?" Fiona got to her feet, shaking her calves and feet to get rid of the excess water and slipping them into her sandals. "I'm going to see if I can find some paper and markers. Keep an eye out for that guy, whatshisname. Tim? And if you have any more ideas, let me know. I honestly don't remember which room I'm staying in, but I usually keep it propped open with a rock." She paused to laugh to herself. "Don't ask about the rock. It's just... stupid. Anyways, I'm off. Ooh, keep an ear out for any other musical talent, too! We can use anyone who knows the difference between a chord and a chorus." The teenaged girl gave him a wide, earnest smile. "Nice meeting you, Ian. You have no idea what a great mood this has put me in. Thanks a bunch!"

"I'll be sure to. I'm in duplex 19. And I will be listening for anyone that can carry a decent tune. I had a good time, I always enjoy meeting people much as I wish the circumstances could be different." Ian dragged himself to a standing position and picked up his bundle of leaves. "I'll walk with you to the village area?" and he started walking slowly in that direction, waiting to see if Fiona followed.

A pleased quirk tugged at the corner of her mouth. "Sure! Number nineteen. Nineteen. Nineteen." She sent him a serious look, and then snickered. "No way I'm going to remember that for more than an hour. Numbers have never been my thing." Fiona fell into step beside him, weaving her fingers together behind her head. "I'll keep an eye out for you, though. I guess that's one good thing about everyone turning into animals and junk... it's easy to remember if you've met someone before." It wasn't too long before they approached the duplexes, and she gave him a nod and a cheery grin before slipping into her own room, indeed propped open by a rock as she'd said.

New RP
Billy didn't know why he was so terrible with people- or rather, he did know, yet still felt they were out to do him in, the lot of them. He was snippish. He was allowed to be. He was hungry. Starving. And not for fish. Feeling particularly antsy alone in his Duplex, Billy felt he could clear his head better with a walk- maybe a nice soak somewhere, moisten his... tentacles.
Through the jungle paths he trudged, trying to think about anything but his chapped nostrils. He found his way to the river he had met Awen in not too long ago. A nice soak. Get his mind off of everything. Off of this horrible island. Look on the bright side of things. Like the human gel had carried on about.
Well, he was on a tropical island.
His previous employer wasn't going to shoot him.
Maybe it wasn't *that* bad.
As he stripped down to his skin, able to fully take in his changes once again, he changed his mind. No... no, it was that bad. But he could at least enjoy the cold water.

Ambrose had recently come out of one of his many trips to the cafeteria. This time, thankfully, there hadn't been any other islanders hanging around dining... not that Ambrose didn't usually mind company, but even with the support from the other islanders, he still felt selfconscious about his new... physique. Especially after facing the hard truth that the mirror reflected back at him.
He was father gone than he ever imagined he would be, even when he found out the truth of the island... and it was only going to get worse.
And he had seen the looks in the eyes of the girls', heard the whispers. He had been subject to rumor and nasty jibes before he had come here, after all he had been through high school, but it was different now, much different.
He made note of the flier on the cafeteria door. Fiona, one of the two new women he had ran into was looking to throw a party. It wasn't a bad idea, admittedly getting sloshed at the beach bar shortly after his first change had likely helped him start on the path to coping a good deal. hell, maybe he'd even help out - things had been down ever since the lockout and a party could be good. But for now... Ambrose turned away from the village and out towards the jungle.
He hadn't been out there since he had been forced there - perhaps a part of him thinking that if he went back he wouldn't be able to come home. But aside from the shelter and air conditing of the buildings, the shade of the jungle - especially near the streams, were the only respite from the glaring sun that was only getting worse as it was growing further and further from "winter". Ambrose itched his shoulder irritably, flicking an ear as a particularly large insect zipped by.
His fur, as he had quickly discovered, now thicker than before his last stage, was hot. Why couldn't this island be further north?! Ambrose, who had long ago declared his despise for snow, was now begging for it. He paused as he ran into the river that cut across the jungle and chewed on a lip.
It looked nice. Cold, clear. Glancing to either side Ambrose made his decision quickly, stripping out of his shirt and pants, revealing hopefully to no one else just how lupine he had become, and slipped into the cool waters with a relaxing sigh. He was as of yet unaware of the other presence in the water not too far off.
Dogpaddling towards the center, he took a breath, submerging for a good minute to soak himself completely, before surfasing further down the stream with a gasp.

At the sudden smell of wet fur and the sounds of splashing, Billy turned quietly in the water where he had clung to a shallow shelf in the riverbed. Blast! Someone was there! He saw pointed ears and a wet, canine build. Pyroth? He eased forward slightly, pulling at the water with his tentacles.

Before Ambrose even realized that there was someone next to him (or opened his eyes), he shook, water spraying everywhere.
When he did open his eyes, his jaw hung open as he was pretty much face to face with the sleezy newbie he had run into in the entertainment room. His ears flattened, and he backpedaled a few steps, thorougly embarrassed.
Crap... and what was his name? All he remembered was that the man was panicking... Angelina slapped him, and that last they had encountered the man had gotten a heavy dose of reality shock. So much for his peaceful alone time.
"Uhm..." He finally vocalized, smoothing some of his hair away from his eyes where it was clinging or trying to slip into his open mouth. "I.... I... I'm terribly sorry. I... I didn't realize anyone else was in here..."

"Y'aint Pyroth. Who are ye, doggy?" Billy kept his head low, mostly hidden in the water as he watched the rather transformed Islander skeptically.

Ambrose frowned, looking irritable at the monicker. "No... I'm not Pyroth. I'm Ambrose... don't you remember-" He stopped himself. he had changed since then...
"We met in the entertainment room a few weeks ago briefly, though I was not quite as... canine then. Although you did seem rather out of it..." He eyed the man skeptically. "Though I'm surprise you forgot Angelina's slap.. and your realization that most of us weren't wearing costumes."

Billy flinched back, eyes narrowing, "Aye, Angela's sex puppet." He gave a chuckle, eyeing him up and down as though sizing him up. Sech a fine, untouched speciman o' th'human race, I wouln' let her go prancin' abou' in tha' wee getup I saw her in yesterday."
