"Okay," she replied, shrugging, even though she knew he couldn't see it. At least he was making it easy for her to follow, she thought. Easy for her and every other creature in a twenty yard radius...
This was stupid. Most animals stayed away from something that felt safe enough to make a lot of noise. Right? Then again...a deer and a beaver were good prey...
Chana wondered for the first time what she smelled like. Did she still smell like a human, or did she smell like fair game? She shuddered and continued following Ian, unaware of his own internal struggle.

Ian continued through the dark undergrowth, stumbling a fair few times on unseen dangers. Through the haze he was in Ian could smell the faint smell of other things.
He tried to discern one from the other and frowned as he started to sweat with the effort of ignoring the Emer-scent. He had antlers, he was supposed to be able to defend himself right?
His watch felt tight on his wrist and ian wondered how long it had been since Christmas. The days seemed to blur together, it could've been mere days, or weeks since the day he had forgotten.
He grunted under his breath and stopped upon reaching the stream. "It should be safe here, I have been here days." Or was it weeks? Ian no longer knew, the silent ticking of his watch only counted seconds.
He wasn't crazy, not quite. But he needed to get his mind away from things. With a sad frown he dunked his face in the water quickly before coming up dripping.
The cold-ish water made him want to snicker, but he didn't. He had to appear sane, he wasn't crazy, he wasn't crazy. . .

"Safe is good," Chana agreed. She'd stopped walking when she heard the splashing of the water, and was glad. She'd almost walked right into Ian. Whoops.
She came around to his side and knelt at the stream to sip some water. The water was muddier than the river...but it wasn't bad, she decided.

Ian shook his head and water sprayed everywhere. He laughed and pushed his hair back with grin. "Much better." He spotted his spear lying on the ground where he had left it and grabbed it handing to to Chana.
"This will do more good to thee than it would if I were to wield it. May it be well in your hands."
Why exactly had he said that when he gave her the spear? Surely he could have just told her 'here you go. Now you can defend yourself' but no, he had to phrase it like he was some lord of old.
"Um," he looked at the ground. What did he want to say?
"I can always make another one besides." That wasn't what he had wanted to say, but it would have to suffice.

Chana gaped as Ian shoved the length of wood into her hand. What the heck!? Then he explained that it was a spear. Oh great. A spear. Now I can either protect myself or... she firmly cut the thought off.
"Um...thanks," she told Ian. Even if it was a medieval weapon, it seemed like Sir Deerboy wasn't too bad.
She just couldn't be sure if it was a wise idea to give a beaver girl a weapon made out of wood.
Resolutely, Chana examined the stream, hoping to find some cress or something to divert her...taste buds.

Ian paused as she seemed hesitant about the spear, when he remembered that she had mentioned eating. . .bark.
Damn, she wanted to eat the spear didn't she?
He was silent for a minute, what could he say? The itch in his head became insistent and he let ot loose for a second then jerked at the force with which it overpowered him setting loose a loud rustling of leaves.
With a grunt and an extreme amount of mental effort that left him feeling completely drained he managed to again push Emerwyn to be the annoying itch. But at least it was better than just abandoning Chana by the stream. Especially at night.
But Chana seemed sane, maybe she could tell him. . . "Pray, Chana, what day is it? If thou knows?" He counted the seconds silently to himself. "Perhaps I can figure how long I have been here."
He fingered his watch idly. What use had he for time? He was here, forever. No! Not forever, he would leave, eventually.
He sighed softly and leaned back onto his hands, sitting cross-legged. "Sometimes I wonder-" he murmered not realizing he had said it aloud.

Day? Chana had to think hard about that. Hard enough to ignore the big piece of wood in her hand. She doubted she'd even be able to digest it as of yet...but the temptation...
Time. Right. "Erm...I really have no idea. I think it must be sometime in February by now though," she mused. She wondered how time had so escaped from her. It had seemed so fluid ever since she got to this island, really. She realized that she'd even missed her own birthday. How embarrassing.
Then Ian started to say something. And stopped himself. Why? Well, it didn't really matter, because her curiosity had been peaked. "You wonder what?" she prompted him.

February! Already? Surely it couldn't be later than mid January. "Oh," Ian's voice was very quiet. But perhaps time didn't matter anymore, they were here, and you lived everyday. Time only made things seem different than they were.
Ian's eyes dulled a little in the dark as he realized that he had spoken out loud. "I wonder about lords. And I wonder about why we are here."

Lords!? Way to throw a curve ball. Chana physically lost her balance for a moment as she tried to understand. Then she realized it was just Sir Deerboy being his medieval self. Again.
"I...uh...see," she replied. Then it hit her. Lords. Like...Adonai?
Well. That was a different way of looking at things. And it seemed like the way that would bring reality crushing down...
Chana didn't mind. As long as she wasn't wondering what stick tasted like.

Ian realized he was confusing her - again.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything." He sighed and looked at the dark water flowing past them. Ian grimly looked at the vines growing on the trees and had an idea. He moved to pick a few and sat down on the bank of the stream and began weaving them together in a braid.
Perhaps I am crazy, but I do not wish to harm anyone. And he grinned.

Okay...now what was he doing? Chana herself was still reeling from thinking of Ian's "lords" as Adonai. She sat down by him.
It really didn't matter what he was doing, she supposed. But thinking of G-d brought her to thinking about how she hadn't prayed in so long. Not even running into Stewart had reminded her. She started singing softly.
"Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary..."

Chubbs couldn't breath, his throat and chest were slowly being crushed by the large serpent. He fought for breath and moved to one knee and rammed the snake into the tree it came from. The snake bit harder, causing Chubbs to wince, but it the impact knocked it a little loose. Once more he tried, slamming his shoulder towards the tree and squishing the snake between. His face was turning blue, he fell to the ground, twisting his rm up he looked at the claws on his hand and he snapped. Instict to survive set in, it wasn't Chubbs, it wasn't him at all. Claws sank into the snake with a great his and dug their way in, raking across the scales and tearing flesh. Chubbs opened his maw and snarled wide, turning his face to the side, his bit his enhanced canines into the neck of the snake and clamped down hard. He wanted to show the snake how it felt, but so much more. He clawed and ravaged at the snake, it tried to get away, but Chubbs held it tight now. The taste of blood entered his mouth and it meant food to him, something he desired alot. Griopping with both clawed hands and finally able to take a deep breath and growls loudly as he pulled on the snakes neck. Chubbs tore the head free with a gush of cold blood and roared loudly into the jungle air. It had been his kill, and no one's and he tore chunks of the snake away with hungry teeth.

New RP
Lily had gotten separated from Colche some time ago, but she hadn't really left the general area. She can still faintly hear the River from her current location, as she walks through the jungle at a liesurely pace in search of food or company.
Despite her usual horrid luck with finding food, she happens by a mango tree. She gives a loud and exagerated sigh of relief, for she had started to worry that she would have to go deeper into the Jungle- and after the episode with the boar she is quite reluctant to do so, especially on her own. She goes over to the tree and reaches for the rather low hanging fruit.

Awen had not noticed the girl for some time. She was nursing a cut she had on the bottom of her foot by the tree. When Awen had found this little fruit tree she was extatic, she could bring back the fruit she said she would find to the group. Indeed, fish and fruit, it would make for better living now. Even though she would probably mostly stay by herself.
But in her excitement Awen had failed to notice the rather sharp stick whose point was facing the air and stepped on it, causing the wound she now suffered. It was only a few moments before Lily arrived...
With a small flash of movement i nthe corner of her eyes she caught the sight of someone. She looked at the girl with the crimson-brown hair and tilted her head a little. No this person was new to her. But new to the island? She doubted it. With the blackout and everything the poor girl must have learned the truth by now.
Awen stood up slowly and put on a smile. At least the girl didn't appear to be in too bad of shape. "Hello there."

Lily doesn't notice Awen as she reaches out to the tree, but then starts when suddenly something moves and someone speaks to her. She lowers her arms and turns her eyes towards the speaker, where the surprises do not end. While initially relieved that it isn't a wild animal, the odd look the half-transformed manta ray has is startling enough.
She takes one step back in her surprise, and then relaxes a bit.
"Um, hello," she replies, though her eyes don't meet Awen's as she looks at the dark patches of skin curiously. What is this person turning into?! She glances up to the stranger's eyes and bites her lip when she realizes how rude she's being.
"S-sorry.."
