Gaorin and Imperial from their respective watching spaces see what is causing the disturbances:
Out in the river, a water elemental is seeking to drown a goblin while an air elemental watches overhead. The goblin is still thrashing around, but he seems to be weakening and he spends more and more time under the water before he manages to get a breath of air.

Gaorin's first thought was 'grab some popcorn and enjoy the show', but another thought flashed in his mind, 'wait these goblins worship the elementals, if that one is getting attacked then its a heretic... he has the answers we seek'.
Gao looked towards the rest of the group and silently unsheathed his blades, quite confident that his message is clear.

Steven nodded his head. He was thinking the same thing. Also, the fact this goblin was alone out here, in the middle of the night, confirmed this idea. He also drew his sword, and looked to the others, just to see if everyone was okay with the idea.

Imperial readied his sword and shield. He snuck as clse to the confrontation as he could without being spotted.

Sighing he looked from face to face from his comrades seeing there inevitable will to fight he exhaled softly. Guardians duties dont only extend to the human race I suppose, though If I could choose between this and sleep right now... He thought and made sure his amulet was tucked into his hastily thrown on shirt.

(No, he was waiting to get bitten in the butt by the "holy cow it's been how long?" bug.)
As Imperial tries to sneak closer, he is spotted by the air elemental. The wind howls again and the water elemental stops what it is doing and turns to you. The goblin surfaces again, gasping for breath, and the water elemental picks him up, throws him further out into the water, and moves to attack you. It moves swiftly through the water, and crawls up onto land ready to attack. Likewise, the air elemental swoops down onto you, lashing out with fists of highly compressed air.

Steven went for the for the water elemental. He saw it as a greater threat to the goblin, which would hopefully give them information. He didn't know the power of the elemental, so he went on the defensive.

Gaorin took a moment to survey the battle field, there where the tents the river and a tree near the river's edge, he made a quick note of that for later.
((that is, if DM allows me to have a tree there))
Gao sliced a hole in his tent and rushed towards the watter elemental
"concentrate attacks against the water abomination, but the main objective is the goblin, if anyone has any rope please tie one end to the tree and throw the other to the goblin, I don't want that information floating away."
gao's strategy lessons begin put to their first field test "secondary objective is the liquid one, if anything is gonna keep the goblin under the watter its that guy"
"third is the air, Cho I think you have the best chance against him, may the your shields protect you,"
Gao charged forward brining his blades down upon his watery foe.

Almost running into the coalesced air elemental he barely hears gaorin's advice over the roaring winds. "Yeah sure why not!" This goblins info better be worth this much trouble. Raising his shields he intercepted the air elementals fists and felt the ground beneath his feet slip as he slid backwards.
