Interesting. Another one of those words that could mean a lot of things, depending on the speaker and their own personal ideas. Safi had certainly met some interesting Soquili, alright, but that didn't mean that Wadi was any less interesting.
"Lots of Soquili are interesting, but that doesn't mean you aren't, Wadi. And you're probably a lot harder to forget than you might think." Chuckling, Safi looked back at Wadi, noting the way that the setting sun made Wadi's glowing eyes seem to burn even more brightly. "So don't go selling yourself short like that."
Glancing away towards the horizon, Safi eyed the setting sun thoughtfully for a moment, then glanced surrepitiously back at Wadi. "And I'd miss you...because I like you...because I think you're interesting...whichiswhyI'dreallyliketogetotknowyoubetter." A bit rushed, but servicable!

"Well someone might remember that i ran away." That was probably pretty memorable. A stallion freaking out had to be something you didn't see every day. That wasn't something he really wanted to be known for though.
Golden eyes widened at the other stallions words. "You do, would...really?" He didn't think he'd ever be able to make friends but maybe some of Grandah's luck was starting to get to him.

A smile twitched at Safi's lips; yes, saying hello to someone and having them dash away in the other direction might just leave a lasting impression...although not necessarily the sort condusive to good future meetings, conversations, or run-ins. Talking was MUCH easier.
Blushing again, Safi nodded his head at Wadi's question, the same sheepish smile in place. "You're an interesting guy, Wadi, and I'd really like to get to know you better, if you really wouldn't mind." Clever, that phrasing...

He took a few steps closer to the other leaving him almost nose to nose with the other stallion. "Really really? We can be friends and you're okay with me being a scardy cat and a spaz?"
His sister would be so proud if he'd actually made a friend without her having to drag him somewhere. Though he wasn't all to sure that anyone would believe him until they met Safi. Then again he wasn't good enough at making up stories for them to believe that he'd made someone up either.

As lose together as the two stallions now were, Safi could feel Wadi's breath on his nose; it sort of whuffed as he talked, making Safi's nose twitch slightly at the tickly feeling.
Still, he managed to maintain a semblence of seriousness in spite of the closeness, though he was grinning as he nodded his head. "Sure thing; after all, what kind of friend would I be if I discriminated because of tiny things like fear or twitchyness?" A terrible friend indeed, and who wanted to be a terrible friend?
And being friends would be a good start.

His face lit up as he nickered. "Wonderful!" Without thinking about his actions much, not having the expierence with others to know anything different, he nuzzled the other stallion before he hopped away long enough to dance in a small circle.
"I'll have ta tell Mama and Dah and Sis .. and everyone!" He'd didn't have friends, not like the rest of them, so they'd all be happy. He knew somewhere that none of them would have the heart to ruin his good mood.

The nuzzle, short as it was, brought back memories that only made Safi grin; however, he doubted that Wadi would take such an innocent smile amiss, given his current state of euphoria. Granted, Safi had strong doubts that Wadi had understood what he himself meant, but taking things slow and sure was probably the best way to snare affection. And friends were nice to have.
Especially demonstrative friends. Watching Wadi dance about with such energy was both amusing and touching and saddening, all at once...
But the dance also served another purpose; it was rather hard to see Wadi, given the rapidly increasing gloom of the night, and that meant that Safi should probably see about finding a place to bed down for the night...and Wadi should see about getting back to his herd.
"Well, you do that, Wadi; maybe tonight when you get in. I suppose that it's about time to say goodnight, what with the dark and all that." Smiling ruefully, Safi pointed up, the rising moon only partly obstructed by clouds. "Don't want to be carousing all hours, after all, or else there'll be no energy tomorrow!"

He hadn't really noticed it getting dark and his eyes widened as he stopped moving and looked up. "Ah...." Damn. He was going to have to find a way to get home without scaring himself half to death.
Fidgeting slightly he nodded at the other stallions words. "I p-probably should. Didn't mean to keep you all afternoon." He really wasn't looking forward to having to walk all the way back to the lake in the dark. It would most certainly be completely night by the time he even got half way back.
"You'll .. you'll have to come visit. Not sure everyone'll believe me until they see you for themselves"

"Nah, there was no keeping, Wadi; it was fun to meet you, and I had a good time talking to you. If anyone was kept, it was you!"
Now that the awkward 'what do you thinks' were over, Safi's shuffling, stammering lack of ease was gone, replaced by his usual air of buoyant good humor. Really, this hadn't shaped out into that bad a situation!
Well, mostly. Safi could tell almost the exact second Wadi's nerves had fled, given the tremor in the other stallion's voice and the complete cessation of dancing. He really WAS nervous, wasn't he?
Somehow, it didn't seem like that great of an idea for Wadi to walk all the way back to the lake himself; he'd die of a nervous breakdown long before he made it back, and that would just be sad.
It didn't take a genius to figure out what the proper course of action ought to be... "Wadi, would you like some company on your walk? I'm not really going anywhere in particular today, and all I was thinking about was finding a place to sleep, so...if you wouldn't mind having someone else yammering at you, I'd be happy to come along."

Safi had technally kept him but he didn't think he could blame it on the other stallion. Normally he would have gone home long before now to insure he got back to the Lake on time but he'd been so wrapped up in talking to someone that wasn't family.
He really didn't want to walk home alone and when his new friend offered to come with him he gave him a nervous smile. "Really? I .. i don't want to be a bother." Safi could just be saying he didn't have anything to do to be nice. He didn't want to distract him from anything.
"If .. if you want there's plenty of room at the Lake. I'm sure my family wouldn't mind another body"

"It's no bother, otherwise I wouldn't have offered. I'm not THAT altruistic, thanks much." Chuckling, Safi shook out his wings, glancing down the river in the direction he knew the lake to be in. Flying would make the journey short, but much less memorable. Not to mention Wadi couldn't fly!
"Well, thanks for the offer, Wadi; I guess we'll see what time it is, and where you're at when we get there! The wee hours of the morning are a bad time for a visit, after all..."
Still chuckling, Safi stepped up beside Wadi, gesturing with a wing for the other to start off. "Shall we?"
