Outside a Stormie infested Police Station, a solitary Chariot LAV sat parked, its armor plates covering its windows and it's communications gear twitching and twisting with acivity.

LAVr QH-7 Chariot, Unit #06, was the eyes and ears of the 759th Ground Attack Squadron, providing the fighters with up to the minute information on the movement's of the Army and routing the commands and requests of the509th Imperial Regiment for arial and obrital support to the GAS.

When troopers need air support, they called #06.
When drop shuttles needed coordinates, #06 told them were to land.
When something needed to be bombed, #06 gave the coordinates.
And when the almighty Orbital Bombardment card was played, #06 routed the Call.

The vehicle and it's crew was an important link in the information chain, and it was a key point in maintaining Imperial Air Superiority. Although technically attached to the Recon Company, they had been reasigned to the forces attacking New Karna to direct the GAS against the Spaceport.

But since the shelacking of Seya-Qu's "army", #06 had become nothing more than a mobile air traffic controller, making sure that the GAS didnt fly into each other.
And the day had started out so promising.

Leaned against the side of #06 was the young brunette in charge of the unit, Lieutenant Jr Grade Kara Aryss.

Situated in a quiet sector with little to do, she watched the ARC's flying patrol circles in the empty sky, their predatory profile threatening anything that might try and take off without permission.

"Lucky bastards." She muttered enviously in a coreworld accent "Even if they're not TIEs. You get to fly around while I'm stuck dirtside. Heavy lasers, missles, you even got shields and hyperdrives! And what have I got?"
She slapped the side of #06.
"An 8m Flight ceiling and one bloody laser cannon. A rear echelon armored comlink."

She sighed and continued to watch the ARC's dance lazily about overhead.

<Alot. Those Imperials are good shots, but the fact that I'm huge doesn't help my evasion factor very much.>

He looked around the Red Light district. It was the same disgusting display as on any other planet. They needed a few good Wookiee women... but he wasn't allowed to think those things. After all he was married.

<We could... hide in the wilderness?>

Rate laughed and patted Grozthar's back."Sith no, you want to, then go ahead. I'm content finding a shack here for now. You stand more of a chance out there than I do." He said with a chuckle and then his expression turned serious as he looked up to Groz."Do you think you could?" He asked knowing that the wookie had been away from nature for many years, but could you take the Kashyyyk out of a Wookie? He doubted it, but even so, the wilds could be more dangerous than his home Shadowlands.

Bolba was too exhausted from earlier to keep at it for long. Being a fat, lazy Hutt didn't help his stamina either. Midway through having fun with 2 naked women in his clutches, he tuckered out. Waiting for permission to leave his grip, the girls looked at their master, only to see him attempting to fight off fatigue, only to fail and fall asleep. " It would seem we lucked out tonight. " the Twi'lek said quietly. " So we did. " Diana replied. " We can still finish having fun with just us though. " the Twi'lek said, smiling.

Diana expected this. It wasn't the 1st time. She didn't blame her. Diana herself rather enjoyed being with the Twi'lek, even if it was forced upon them by Bolba. At least with each other they would both try to make it so they would enjoy it, opposed to being forced to please the Hutt, where only Bolba had anything to enjoy. They slowly slipped out of the sleeping Hutt's grasp, and went over to the rug on the floor. While it mostly for decor, it was the most comfortable spot in the room opposed to the bare metal plating that was everywhere else. They embraced, and held each other tight, though gently.

It may not be exactly normal, or ideal, but Diana felt comfortable with the Twi'lek. They both cared for one another enough that they wanted to help each other have whatever good time they could. This was one of very few ways. It was a nice change though. Diana was used to be used for pleasure, but this time, it was done in mutual consent. Luckily as well, Bolba liked the sight of them together intimately. Should he wake up and see them together like that, he would just enjoy the view before having them do anything else. As they continued to caress one another, Diana felt the rough moments with Bolba wash away, as though they were just another bad dream.

Before long, she lost herself in the act, overcome by the mutual pleasure and tenderness that Bolba could never provide. She surrendered herself to the Twi'lek willingly, who was only too happy to return the favor. Soon they were both lost in the act together, until they finally wore themselves out. Diana felt darkness come over her. Her eyes were heavy, and she felt an arm reach over her, holding her close to a warm body. The twi'lek had made herself comfortable and dozed off already. Diana soon followed.

Groz looked off into the distance of the alleyway, remembering days on Kashyyyk. Then after a minute, shifted his view to the ground, then Rate.

<It's been so long, I honestly can't tell. I like to think it's no worse than the shadowlands, but how do I know? I think I should go, to see if I still have my heritage.>

As the two Chariot rumbled into the spaceport, Colonel Akaga felt his own guts grow cold. Hung upon every balcony and landing of the port that the Compforce fools could get their hands on was a giant red and white banner emblazoned with the imperial crest. Hastily painted on the walls were slogans of the New Order, COMPNOR, and statements of imperial policy.

Already there seemed far fewer non-humans on the street, and the local aliens had seemingly disappeared, their blue skin no longer visible among the tense crowd of faces looking out at the Compforce personnel feverishly painting and hanging banners.

When there was so much more useful work to be done on this world. Clearing his throat the Colonel yelled up at the man who was his political officer, "Steyr Nord, get off that sith damned balcony and come down here where I can speak to you!"

The young Compforce Major spun around, "Why Colonel? I'll be right with you." He leapt down a set of stairs and sprinted around a section of wall before emerging beneath the banner he'd been working on securing.

"I think you started decorating before you had a place to sleep Nord," Saburo Akaga hissed quietly, "and where are all the Seya-Quon workers that were here earlier?"

"As per imperial decree-number..." The Major began.

"No untrustworthy non-human shall be allowed to work at a location of military and strategic importance to the empire..." Saburo finished for the fool, "Have you found replacements?"

"Uhm..." The Major stammered.

"Have you thought about how we're going to unload supplies when there aren't any dock workers? Let alone equipment and food?" Colonel Akaga hissed, "Find some replacements, and I don't care if they're red, green, or orange!"

"Sir! Must I remind you that Compforce and COMPNOR have jurisidiction over the imperialization of captured territories and the indoctrination and management of said territories," The Major answered.

"Well s**t," Colonel Akaga sighed, "How do you intend to go about this?"

"Tomorrow my men will institute imperial decrees 198 and 217 on the streets of New Karna."

Colonel Akaga blanched, decrees 198 and 217 were declerations meant specifically for newly aquired territories, but they were also certain to cause an inflamement of the local population.

"Starting tomorrow, all non-human businesses without a special permit for their operation will be shut down and their premises siezed for imperial use as per decree 198. Additionally all personal weapons, including slugthrowers are to be turned over to imperial authorities, any civilian caught with such a weapon will be executed immediately as per imperial decree 217."

Colonel Akaga had already turned his back on the Compforce Major and climbed onto the top of the Chariot, "Well Steyr, I hope you're not going to fast, if there's a revolt... It's on your head!"

With that the two Chariots drove off and turned away heading toward the busier market district. Fifteen minutes later the two command tracks had come to a stop in front of a lavish home.

Colonel Akaga starred, "Lieutenant Kimber? Did you requesition me a mansion?"

There was a chuckle from the Supply Officer, "No sir, we just confiscated this from the family of the supreme commander of the PDF, it'll make an excellent command post?"

"What happened to the family?" Akaga answered quietly.

"Well, they moved down the block... It's only temporary sir."

Akaga nodded, "Well, tomorrow I want you to find me something a little less lavish and a little closer to the troops... They've been given housing I take it?"

"Yes sir, the houses of the PDF Officer core will serve nicely, and we've begun converting a couple of the warehouses around the spaceport into barracks." The Supply Officer answered.

"Good, and if those houses were occupied I want compensation paid to the families," Akaga fumed, "No sense making more enemies then those that Nord will give us."

"Yes sir," The Officer answered with a slight smile as he gestured the rest of the command staff toward the large house, "If you'll follow me I'll show you to your rooms."

Aftermath

1 DAY SINCE PRIOR CHAPTER
PostPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2007 7:06 am

Dawn. About the one thing that was guaranteed on every planet, from Alderaan to Kessel to Utapau. Every morning began with the sun coming up.

Rising from his bunk with the other lieutenants, Benton Ford quickly dressed into his uniform, and holstered his E-11. He put on his armor and helm, then stepped into the mess hall.

The sun shined over the streets of New Karna, showing what little the invasion had cost the people.
Sure there were a few wrecked buildings and an emerging number of Imperial Army and Navy personel, but it was nothing to be overly concerned about.
A quick run back to the shop confirmed that nothing had been looted or tampered with, a sign of good news for Charr. After he helped his neighbors back to their homes, he made a bee-line for his Personal Computer.
The Rodian quickly hashed out his master plan, printed it out, and pocketed the flimsi.
On his way out his door, he remembered he still had his Blaster pistol on him.
Not planning on running into trouble and yet unwilling to go outside unarmed, the Rodian swapped the pistol for one of his Crackers.
Now suitibly equiped, Charr locked up the shop and started making his way to New Karna's courthouse, hoping to get in touch with the local Imperial Commander.
Today seemed a good day for Charr N'barr and, if the Imperials liked his buisness plan, all of Seya-Qu.

After having a breakfast consisting of confiscated food from the local police station, Benton was ready to go out into the world.

Taking two squads with him, as well as a hovertruck for picture, Benton began his way down the street, posting the new Imperial decrees:

1. All Non-human businesses without license to operate will be henceforth siezed and their property used for the Imperial Garrison. Licenses to operate may be dispensed by officers of the Imperial Occupation Force.

2. All personal weapons must be turned over to the occupation forces, those found with said weapons on their person or within their household after three days will be immediately executed.

As far as he was concerned, this was pretty lenient. He'd been at Kashhyyk, and watched as almost the entire wookiee species was enslaved and rendered 'uncivilized.' He knew the wookiees were smart; he'd fought both along side and against them.

So, in the end, he had no quarrells about posting one of each sign on every other house.

By the time he was done, it was mid-morning.

Colonel Saburo Akaga pulled his uniform on and decided against the armor plate and helmet he'd worn the day before, instead opting for an army cap and a holster for his DL-44. He'd leave his issued service pistol with the armor which he quickly zipped up in his duffel bag and tossed onto the floor.

As he stepped into the hall Lieutenant Bek Kimber handed him a datapad, "I'd like to requesition some more gravtrucks seeing as we'll have to haul our supplies from here, all across the planet."

Akaga nodded, quickly scribling his signiture on the pad, "What about the spaceport itself... I take it you're going to use some of the local warehouses."

"Yes sir, well those that Nord hasn't reserved for contraband storage..."

"Sithing Compfarce..." Akaga answered as one of the sergeants passed him a cup of cafe, "Be sure to reserve some space as a vehicle park for our tanks and supply vehicles."

"Yes sir..."

As he stepped outside the clanking of a formation of AT-STs made him look up. Sitting on top of the Chariot Lt Colonel Jasmir Adder grinned at him, "It looks like Captain Verlon's Anti-Armor group has arrived."

"They landed last night?" Akaga asked as he pulled himself up onto the roof of the LAV.

"Yep, as did our anti-infantry battery and trail. The Stormtroopers are loading up as the Navy Troopers are offloading now." Jasmir grinned, the two dimples winking on the side of her face, "Stupid Navy pukes, thinking they can act as security forces with just a blaster and a brain bucket."

"Don't worry about that... if they have to fight we're already screwed," Akaga answered as the Chariot rumbled toward the courthouse.

This deployment was going to suck.

A third world planet full of fringers and colonials.

Worst of all, the Naval Special Missions and Air Support Coordination, NSMASC, was being deployed away from the spaceport.

LAV #06 was now traveling with support elements for the Recon Company, skirting among the lumbering Hover Trucks as they rumbled down the road.

"Port Loka." Kara muttered. "Someone up the Army Chain is messing with us."

At the wheel of the vehicle was the veteran soldier of the team, Flight Sergeant Tressk Colsan: a square jawed fighting man from Ord Mantell. He had been with the empire for some time and Kara knew she could trust in his experience.

"I looked it up before we left." He replied, his eyes fixated on the road ahead. "Seems the city is built in a marsh between a lake and the ocean."
Kara groaned. "Someone IS messing with us."

Corporal Technician Voka Erantes-do-Nascimento, a skinny Colonial from Bestine IV muttered a curse from his seat near the back of the LAV. "I didn't join the Navy to see water! If I wanted that, I'd have stayed home!"

"Somebody should complain to the dirtmunchers." Corporal Tolth Lund remarked. A dark skinned Chandrila native, the Recruitment office made Lund a Special missions recon expert, something he was rather good at despite his distaste for army work. "If they can't tell the difference between their Naval department and the Space Force, why do we even let them out of their barracks? Story of my life: Always a ground pounder, never a Spaceman."

"Lund, seal your hatch." the Flight Sergeant warned him. "If I have to hear another one of those 'poor me' speeches I'll kill you and bury you."

"You wouldn't...."

"Try me."

Kara leaned forward in her shotgun seat as the convoy drove into the city limits, filtering out the bickering of her men until it reached a point she would have to intervene.

The convoy weaved its way through the streets, passing members of the Recon company going about putting up fliers, a sight that brought a collective chuckle from the NSMASC Team.

The Convoy finally pulled up near the warehouses the Recon company had comandeered for their temporary headquarters.
Splitting off frm the Convoy, #06 pulled up along the side of one of the warehouses and parked.

Kara popped the hatch and lept out of the vehicle, followed by her team.
"Alright." She said as she stretched. "We're here. Now to find a place to set up shop."

As the Rodian proceeded down the street torward the goverment offices, he caught sight of something that bothered him.
Banners and decrees of the Imperial Order and proclaiming the superiority of the human race.
He stopped and looked at one of the decrees posted to a wall.
At that moment, a hand came down on his shoulder.
He turned to look into the face of Tripper Kallos, a long time customer and hunting buddy.
"Where you goin, Graftie?"
"To the courthouse. I want to speak to the Officer in charge about some plans I got."
Tripper frowned. "I wouldn't go if I were you, Charr. Them Imps ain't right in the head. They'll arrest you before you make it to the first step."
Charr brushed the man's arm off. "Over talking buisness? My green a**."
"They fired all the people working in the goverment district, everyone who wasnt human. Arrested a few for no reason." The hunter warned.
Charr turned to look down the street. His eyes hardened.
"Yeah? Well lets see how they deal with me."
He continued walking in the direction of the courthouse, Tripper's words buzzing in his head.
To Charr, the sky was starting to darken on this once promising day.
