his face was full of child-like fear when he died...then he saw that Raito b****** smirking to him...and maybe he thought "My first friend...was KIRA...." and then closed his eyes!!!!!!!! emo emo emo
I watched it already...but it makes me scream and cry sooo much....I just didn't see it coming, and it's all Raito and Rem's (yes Rem you too!! you think you can get away with that) fault!!!!! stressed stressed scream scream evil evil

L had to die, for the progression of the story. But the way he set it up in the movie was BADASS.

first I like your avatar second I blame Light he manipulated Rem's love for Misa to get her to kill L and not that I like Misa but Light is manipulating her too and though I haven't seen the rest of the series I think he'll kill her in the end cause (and I loved) I saw the last episode and he cries out "Misa where are you" its funny but that wasn't fair L saw Light as a friend

Zomg i hated it when he died i almost cryed and im a 15 year old dude...(sad face) i will miss L but i am able to live with Near who is also pretty cool.

Maybe...The series is full of surprises, so that was just one of the twists. But maybe it wasn't very effective, because a lot of people say they lost interest afterwards.
I didn't want L to die, but maybe it was necessary

L had to die, simply so that we all had a reason to want Kira to get what was coming to him. Also, everyone needs to be sad sometimes, and what better way to make countless people depressed than by killing their hero? I mean, look at what JK Rowling did when she killed Dumbledore. Kids were literally killing themselves over it!
