Warren arrived at the gym for the dance. There was balloons everywhere, colored lights, and rock, punk, and hip hop was playing. He was dressed in a black tee shirt tucked in and wearing a white blazer with jeans and sneakers.
Now in his opinion, there are 2 types of people: there were the dancing people, the people who loved to dance, and then there is the relaxing people, the people who only play cards or there psp, and don't ever dream of dancing. Warren was the dancing type. He searched for some of his friends.

"Um, Xee..." Xlianya decided not to give her full name at this point. But she gave him an emotionless 'thumbs up' with one hand and got up to go to her next class.

When Xlianya entered the gym for the dance, she gave off a small, smiling smirk. Dancin gwas something she wasn't shy about... when she got started, that is. She had walked into the gym a little ways and began looking around a little uncertainly.
Her lack of friends at this school was definitely putting damper on things, so she had invited one of her friends from her old school to the dance. She had responded as 'maybe' and Xee didn't get a more positive response from any of her other friends. There was a football game at her old school the same night apparently, so fat chance anybody she knew was coming.

Mar had cleaned himself up very nicely for the dance or at least in his own opinion, he noticed Xee in the corner of his eye and decided to go talk to her, "Hey there." he greeted.

"Hi," Xee replied shortly, not turning to look. She was starting to warm up just to the music and looking out for a dance circle to just jump in to bust-a-move. Then she saw a cluster of people forming. She began forward with a leering smile spreading from her frown.

warren was nodding his head to the beat of the music. He then noticed a cluster of people dancing
'Maybe i should dance?" He asked himself. He wale to the cluster and started to dance.

Principal Rockwaller walked on the stage holding a mic.
"Hello, Ravencrest! Is everyone having a good time!" A lot of the students cheered.
"Ok, now is the time for the dance contest for all students. So if you got what it takes the step right on up!" He waited for all the contestants to walk in front of the stage.

Warren took a deep breath and walked on the stage. He then stared at the crowd and waited for someone to go against him.
"Wait do I really wanna do this?" He questioned himself.
"Sure it is...i hope..." Warren thought to himself.

Mar sprang like...Spiderman(?) onto the stage, "I challenge you!!!" he shouted with an " mrgreen " look on his face.

"alright!" He boasted.
"Your on! And may the best dancer win! Any body else wanna go at it?!" he screamed at the crowd.

Xlianya pushed through the front crowd and stepped up. Normally girls wouldn't bother in the contests, they would just dance around on the floor, so Xee wouldn't have been surprised if the student body was shocked to see her, an unfamiliar face at that, step up. (Now it's like the movie... lol. One of my favorites.)
Her back was still to the rest of the crowd, but her gender was apparent from the long hair flowing from her beanie. She glanced slightly over her shoulder without much of a smile, but then turned the other way to walk across the two boys to line up with them.

The three lined up facing the crowd on the stage.
"Now this is a party!" Yelled Principal Rockwaller. The crowd yelled.
"We have Xlianya, Mar, and Warren. Now these are the rules. Each contestant will have a 45 second freestyle dance routine. The DJ will play any song requested, from rock and pop, to rap and hip-hop. After they have danced, there will be a 3- way dance battle to a specific song. After that, the crowd will choose the winner on account of applause. Dirty dancing is allowed, but remember, this is a family show..." the crowd did a light chuckle.
"The winner will receive either an iPod, a laptop, or a $1000 gift card to any store at the local mall down on Mercury. The choice is yours! Everybody cool with that?" The crowd cheered loudly.
"Now, who wants to go first?"

Xlianya held up three fingers, indicating she wanted to go last, but went over to the DJ and handed him her iPod and told him the song she wanted from it was "Uh Uh". She already knew the song wasn't heard much around these parts, but she wanted the DJ to at least have it ready for her to dance to. Xee got back to her spot and waited for the other two to make their move, pun intended.
(Here's the song anyway, though.)
