I understand what you mean, and it could have been possible that hanging around the other boys encouraged his gayness, but what made him be gay and the others hetero? I just think that whilst our sexualities may not be all the way determined at birth, it sure has a hell of a lot to do with it.

I myself don't mind if it is legalized.Honestly,I don't understand why it is illegal...It is not anybody's decision to decide what is the "right" way to love.Your personal morals and ethics shouldn't be involved-if two people love eachother, just let them live. The people who say they're "anti-life"...well...I don't understand the argument. It's about love, not making babies...not like this world needs anymore babies anyway. I myself am nonsexual-I have no desire for a mate of either sex. Thus,I have a pretty neautral view-although I personally think true love scarcely exists in this world where divorce is so common, but to find true love we must allow it to be,thus-if two people say they love eachother,it is not our say on wether or not they are allowed to.Let them love,be it a whimsical fantasy or something not meant to last.

Yeah, I don't deny that birth may have something to do with it. I just don't see there being a gay gene, sorry it just doesn't make sense to me.

I can't say for sure, but the studies are showing a "defect" in X and Y chromosomes that make one gay. And I am not saying, "If you're gay, well then - that's a defect" but it is prefectly normal. It is not a "gene", because if it was - that family wouldn't have a long line of the one parent. And "skipping generations" wouldn't work either, because the one parent was already carrying that gene. You can trace homosexuality to the ancient Romans and Greeks, also ***** - but this is besides the point.
Same Sex Marriage. Like I stated in a different forum, I am a Christian. I am to believe that this is wrong, but most of my teachers I have had never said it was. We are looking for the happiness of everyone, but we do not endorse it. Kinda' like standing on the sidelines, waiting for the answer, and going with the flow. I don't know what's inside me that says "Two wo/men should not get married". It's just inside of me, but I think it's only because it goes against the flow I have lived ever since I was born, y'know? I think everyone has at least one gay friend, and I don't care. We're friends! But I think it's kind of intimidating, at least a little, to straight people. The stories that one day you wake up, middle aged and married, and think you're homosexual. It's quizzical. And it's great that they adopt! That's what we need, more adoptions because there are so many children out there without homes, but don't they fear their children's futures? Maybe being made fun of can make them stronger, but then they could turn out to be violent - but this is for another discussion.
So, I think I'm against it. Unless someone can change my mind, and that's quite a task.
I am also sorry if anything sounded derogatory. I can't help but say "gay", "homosexual". I don't know what words to use. X:

with the gay marriage issue, people are taking it in to much of a religious context. it is simply asking for the right to have a state marriage and the rights and privileges involved with them. for example, if one person in the couple were you get sick, that persons partner would be legally unable to make medical decisions for that person. however, by having a legal marriage, that person becomes the next of kin.
if religions disapprove of gay marriage, they should simply forbid a religious marriage and not try to force their particular viewpoints onto the government.

I am for gay marriage. I am not gay.
Gay people are people too, why should they not be allowed to live life the way they choose? Who is being harmed by allowing two gay people to get married?
I know gay people and they are some of the nicest people I know. The only nicer people I know are Amish, but thats another story...

To be honest, I don't have one problem with Gay Marriage. Although others seem to think it's wrong, why don't they look in the mirror and worry about bettering themselves? Also, I am not gay
Gay people don't come on purpose. They have feelings just like anyone else

Im bi...Ok I know that there are a lot of people that are like...Heres another one..but I dont really care. I think that gay/lesbians should be able to marry because the fact that there not allowing them to get married is simply implying (atleast to me) that gays/lesbians arent people. I also think thats its a trend right now and itll calm down soon enough. My friend is like Im bi >.> but shes just doing it for the attention. Another friend says that all people are bi. I dont think that shes completely right but its a though. Just being open enough to see if anyone would love you is hard enough. Anyway...gay marriage good xD

Looking through some of the post, I can see how things can be tug from one side to the other mean while others are stuck inbetween. I understand how one would grow up with of crouse a mother and father in which would make things appear strange if they find out that their friend's parents are both mothers or fathers. I agree, a change may feel strange, but isn't that what life is all about? Change. The seasons change, all the days are never the same, and are age always rises wether we like it or not. Now to see something like this may feel uneasy to ones with mom and dad, but why should it make any difference? What evil can be brought if two of the same gender are brought together? Would the earth crumble beneath our feet? I wouldn't think so, because it's only marriage. It's love, and isn't that what some people view to be the most important in this entire universe? Feeling?
Every human being has a right to be who they are, and act upon what they believe is right though it may discourage others in the end. It's is like now. Men who wish to marry men while women who wish to marry other women are unpleased to find the government and even the churches to forbid them to be together. Now if things were flipped around, then the ones who don't believe in this type of marriage would be just as discouraged, but what effect would it have on them? They could simply ignore the others though it may be rude, but understand that it would insure more freedom. I see this world as freedom, and why can't marriage be between anyone not denied by anything discrimination, not even by what gender the ones to marry could be. We are all people born with our own minds, thoughts, and actions. Why can't we all simply embrace the idea and try to learn about it or feel as if walking in anothers shoes to better learn and feel the way they do. It's our world. Now shouldn't every single person have their rights to live it?

People should have the freedom to live as they want. Marriage is a different matter, however. It is a governmental initiative with tax implications and is deeply rooted in our society's views on morality and the raising of children. Regardless of how we each feel about the issue, it involves having most people view homosexuality in a positive manner.
Some churches DO perform marriages for gay couples, some countries and states DO permit gay marriages. This does not ensure more freedom, it only allows couples to take advantage of a governmental initiative and to have the supposed sanction of society.
When I become eligible to gain some benefit from the government, I do not gain more freedom. The government NEVER gives freedom, it can only protect our freedom by not acting upon us.
I think people should be able to think as they wish, even to disagree with homosexuality and to oppose gay marriage. If a majority does not wish to affirm certain relationships, they should not have to be affirmed.
ALL people should be free to think and act as they wish.

So your saying Gay marriage shouldn't be allowed because SOME people don't want it. You are a total hipocrite, First you say everyone should be allowed to do as they please then you say Gay marriage shouldn't be allowed because not everyone wants it. It's a matter of giving EVERYONE equal rights. I don't want Gay marriage to be legal just to spite homophobes, I want it to be legal so if I do end up with a woman we can have the same rights as any other couple.

Kira Lynn Winters So your saying Gay marriage shouldn't be allowed because SOME people don't want it. You are a total hipocrite, First you say everyone should be allowed to do as they please then you say Gay marriage shouldn't be allowed because not everyone wants it. I don't want Gay marriage to be legal just to spite homophobes, I want it to be legal so if I do end up with a woman we can have the same rights as any other couple. Firstly, I am not a total hypocrite. Secondly, I didn't say I oppose gay marriage. I have a guy friend who is marrying a man this fall, in fact. But I think you ignored the two points I actually did make. Though maybe I should have made the second point more clearly. 1. The government NEVER gives us rights. 2. In a democracy, the majority view should prevail, unless it prevents people from exercising their natural freedoms. You seem to think that the legal institution of marriage is something that some may call a "god-given right." It isn't. If we abolished legal marriages altogether, we would not have less freedom or less rights. Maybe you're thinking of legal marriage as society's confirmation of the joining of two people who love one another. And you see no reason for society to object to gay relationships. If that is your general feeling...then you should understand my point...it doesn't matter what YOU think or I think about gay marriage. If gay marriage is legalized without a majority of people supporting gay marriage, then all of marriage is reduced to nothing more than legal provisions. Maybe we just disagree on this point and you don't see marriage as anything more than a legal construct with practical benefits. I think legal marriage has a strong moral component. Without majority support, however, that moral component of marriage will lose its meaning.
