Quite a good episode. Gets a thumbs up from me. The master will be back most probably. What is it with the end of the season and things appearing in the tardis? still, can't wait till next season.

p.s. anyone else keep thinking of lucy in the sky with diamonds? Just got it in my head half way through the episode what with the masters companion being called lucy and the kid saying "The sky is filled with diamonds" lol Maybe it's just me

The previus two epsodes were building up to what was hopfully going to be an epic final episode, and so it was!

If I'd have been a child i would have been really disturbed by the Dr having to sleep in a tent and drink from a dog bowl and everyone being slaves for a year.

A month ok by a year like that! *is disturbed*

I'm actualy quite sad that the Master died: 1 cos i liked him
2 I like John Simm
3 RTD could have written countless more plots about him
4 The Dr and the Master could have lived in the TARDIS together and it would have been really cool!

The Dr as Gollum-come-house elf was a bit naff but he was sweet, I want one. The 'i can fly, i can do anything cos everyone's saying my name' bit was a bit silly but ok a suppose.

I'm glad that Jack turns into the face of Boe, better that then being a head in a ball.

I am not disappointed and quite enjoy all these 3 episodes. Sad to see master has gone (again...). Jack is Face of Boe is shocking really!

I were surprised and yet happy to see the master sing alone with the song (lights by Scissor sisters). Sad to see Martha's gone sad Is she really gone for good? sad I don't like her but she isn't bad. That is for sure...

The ends bits just thrilled me and I can't keep wondering how will Kylie Minogue fits into the coming episode!!!!! I just can't wait, it is eating me inside out! lol Not happy when the Doctor said what? what?! What ----- I think the last what is so strange.... lol

I don't think the Master is dead.

The wife shot him, but she didn't have any reason too. She was very very loyal the entire time, and she isn't incredibly bright, as that reporter mentioned, so I don't think she could have held off from trying to be a hero for a whole year.

I think shooting him was something he told her to do in that sort of situation, that he'd planned that contigency, and that he somehow tranfers himself into his ring (it showed burns, right?)

I think that was the wife picking it up. She was on the ship so she remembers, and I think that was her nails.

And on top of that, we've seen RTD throw us a twist before, and he's probably clever enough to see the potential of the Master. I think he's still around, or at least he's a potential.

I liked it. Even the Doctor floating in the end... Heh.

The only thing I really didn't like was the Doctor turning into a freaking house elf. ><; I was already annoyed to see him turn old in the end of tSoD, but this was just TOO much.

OMG! Jack... Bo... :head implodes:

I really really really liked Martha, and her family, in this episode. Their brother will probably always feel left out when he's around them now...

It was kind of a scary episode. I can't believe they used some of these concepts for a kids show. Jack physically tortured, the Doctor psychologically tortured... for a year. Jeez. And the stuff about Japan burning, dogs eating you alive at night in London, and the Great Radiation Pits... I mean, come on people. JEEZ. Poor little kids. I bet at least some had nightmares.

But still, I loved it. It was awesome. I actually like the entire concept of everyone thinking about the Doctor like that... Reminds me of what Jem said in To Kill A Mockingbird about if a whole stadium full of people concentrated on making a tree burn, they could.

I loved it. I just REALLY can't wait to see when Jack returns to Torchwood... They better give us a reunion scene of some sort. biggrin

Don't worry, the Master will be back. I just hope by the same actor; he was cool. Aaand... the Titanic?! o_o

The woman laughing at the end of the episode. Does anyone else think that lady might be The Rani? I imagine that The Master might come back because of her... and not by choice.

Actually, I thought it was Mrs. Saxon (she also had red nail polish, IIRC). Sort of like it was some preconceived plan that if the Master got caught and there was no chance of escape, she'd kill him, he'd transfer his essence into the ring, and she'd go and retrieve it later to resurrect him.

Not that I mind it being the Rani. Though they'd have to come up with some sort of explanation as to how she managed to survive the Time War.
Good point. But that laugh just didn't sound like Lucy Saxon to me. I'm willing to accept that wasn't The Rani, but I also don't think it was Lucy either.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. razz

...Things I didn't like:

The re-winding of a year by shooting the paradox machine...I though that was abit lame =/

It did actually make sense, as the whole Toclafane conquest wouldn't have been possible WITHOUT a paradox.

Well... 6 months of waiting till' the next episode gonk

I liked it, though I kinda disliked the way some things went.

-Martha- Geez... only one season, loved her, hopefully she might come around some other time. Quite possibly the worst last line in the episode(or not): "I'll See You Again, Mister"
-Master- Well that was short lived, John Simm, did a nice job as the Master. Kinda seems odd for RTD to bring him for a grand total of 3 episodes
-Jack- THE FACE OF BOE? .... eek xd
-Doctor- Well... we've had Gandalf!Doctor, Smeagol/Dobby!Doctor, FloatingUberPowerful/Hug!Doctor and Doctor!Doctor in this episode, kinda made me laugh when the Master was spazzing out so much, all the Doctor was gonna do was hug you...
-The TARDIS- Shame on the Master for cannibalizing her, even though he needed to to create the Paradox Machine

But over all the episode was a nice, though slightly saddening conclusion to the season.

(The Titanic!? What tha... didn't nine mention being on it?)

Nevermind. RTD said in the podcast for this episode that the last scene with the woman's hand and the laughter was added as an afterthought and he has no intention of having anything come from it. He said [paraphrasing], "The scene is there for future writers to use if they choose to bring him back, but I won't be doing so."

Darn. sweatdrop

Yep, in The End Of The World. He told Jabe "Unsinkable? I was on another ship that was described like that, ended up clinging to an iceberg. Wasn't half cold."

I thought the ending with Titanic... was a little... unimaginative. x__x
I mean the "Whhhattt?" thing was exactly what he said at the end of the last series!

Sooo... in the long run, If Ten goes onto the ship is there a minor chance he might run into Nine?

But isn't it impossible for The Doctor to cross his own timeline?
