"Yeah Kyo's a Elf, but I like your color and your hair much much much better" The boy of wood and leaves nodded his head. Shaking a few leaves from a branch and onto the ground. His eyes then moved away from Zah and towards the boy standing next to him.

"What’s that on your face?" Oak quietly pointed at the object covering Yashi's face. The colors intrigued his attention... well enough for him to speak up and ask about it. His eye sight then quickly moved away and toward Ianna and a smile grew on his face, but his attention couldn’t be held long enough so his gaze moved back to the animal boy.

The invitation had somehow found it's way to Jora's desk and was now in the palm of the dark haired woman's pale hand. It shifted, fingertips now taking it at each side and pulling it open to read the scrawl inside. How lovely. It seemed as though their plan was working well - they officially believed that Matilda was dead and not coming back. Took them long enough to bury the twit's body in the ground.

With such a gathering of her 'children', though...Hadn't they learned anything from previous adventures? The paper was carefully shut and placed back on her desk, the trench-coat covered woman standing up a moment later to stride outside and to Matilda's room. The short heel of her boots clicked against the wooden floor and there was a self serving smirk on her lips as she pushed the door open to see the child.

The blue haired girl was sitting in the center of the room, glaring at the door. She hadn't moved from that spot for days, simply staring vacantly. Jora knew that her little captive was trying to figure out how to get out of this mess and it gave her some kind of sick satisfaction to know that she simply couldn't. Not only was she there, Jori was there (at least most of the time. Where his shadow loving self went she had absolutely no idea). There was no escaping.

"Your funeral is next week," Jora said in a clipped tone, "But it won't be the last."

It was all she said before she turned and walked out, leaving Matilda to mull over what exactly that meant.

-----------------

The day of the funeral had finally arrived. It had taken a lot of convincing, but Jora slipped into the funeral rather easily. She was dressed in her usual black though minus the trench coat and in a dress that the Gods had forced her into.

Look inconspicuous they had said. Ha. Like she didn't look normal enough as it was? Nonetheless she was dressed in a knee length conservative black dress and her hair was brushed silkily and tied in a french knot - which was no easy feat considering how long it was. Half of it had to remain down. Still, she looked ready for a funeral and if anyone asked she'd say she was a friend of....What was that b***h's name? Danny. Right. Friend of Danny.

She was trying incredibly hard not to smirk and keep a picture of sorrow on her face - but every now and then her lips twitched. She just needed to get to the right spot and place down the stones where they belonged and their plan would be in action. The only problem was that the silver haired woman that had made her life hell since she'd unearthed Matilda's wand had taken up her place on the podium - no doubt to start the bloody thing.

Finally. It had taken her long enough! As Ianna's voice rang out and asked all attending guests to take their seat, Jora took a seat in the back and off to the side. She needed to find a way to get to a secluded spot and be unnoticed - which was hard when you were wearing all black on a bright sunny day.

This had better work - and when she got home she was burning that dress. Immediately.

Aurrek wondered not for the first time why he seemed to end up in this particular place, even though he was still certain that he had nothing to do with the majority of the people here. This get-together had something to do with someone he had seen maybe once, but he had been invited nonetheless, and the hourglass god was always eager to find things to keep himself busy.

As far as he could recall, the navy-haired god had never been to a memorial service or a funeral before. They had always been, in his mind, a little facet of mortal life that had nothing to do with him. Really, Aurrek could not relate at all. But... it seemed rude to skip this one after someone had gone to the trouble of inviting him, so he got a babysitter for Kelreid and came anyway, accompanied as usual by his large white crab.

The place looked different than he recalled it, even ignoring the fact that the entire headquarters had been dark and filled with evil things the last time he had made the mistake of dropping by.

At least it looked decently normal at the moment.

Glancing around and feeling thoroughly awkward, Aurrek stepped inside. He held Nordri in two hands in front of himself, like a large book; hopefully, the crab would behave, at least. Funerals... even with his limited understanding of mortality, the god could figure out that this would not be a particularly happy occasion.

A single ear turned in Yashima's direction at the quiet repetition of her question, considering him momentarily. Hmmm... She'd rank his threat level around a four. He didn't seem the type to lash out unprovoked, however the fact that he stood so close to the black lion made Bantu sure the kitsune was acting as the lion's protector. That was fine by her. She was used to being treated with wariness, as was normal for hyenas, and as long as the kitsune kept his claws to himself there would be no trouble. Besides, the arrival of the walking tree (was it a boy? Bantu had never seen anything like it before) deserved the hyena woman's full attention. When had he walked over? She hadn't even seen him until he opened his mouth and spoke to the black lion. Had he been part of the scenery before or had he arrived with someone?

Head tilted in curiousity, Bantu had to drag her eyes away from the tree boy when the black lion spoke, reminded of her initial question. A Drow? What was that? Zah had mentioned something about being a dark elf but that meant about as much to Bantu as the word Drow. Well, whatever he was he looked like some sort of night creature. Was he a bat? It was possible that these Gaian people called bats "dark elves." It sounded logical to her, so she would go with that. "Just checking. Known many a lion to hiss first and ask questions later." She gave a nod as if that settled the matter, before blinking when the black bat-elf-boy continued speaking. English must not have been his first language either, though his effort was appreciated. Aaah, so he was hurt then? "Injured? Tsk tsk. Good you're healing though. Can see what the hissing was about." Ianna's voice broke her mother-hen train and caused Bantu to glance towards the speaker. Well it appeared she had to end their chat here and now.

After a moment of fishing through the small pouches strapped to her waist, Bantu finally produced what she was looking for. She held a small jar in her hand, corked and labeled in Swahili. Bantu uncorked the jar, checked the contents with a sniff – the odour was foul even though the jar had only been opened for a short period of time – and then handed it to Zah. "Good medicine made by good healer. A little bit goes a long way," she said, before patting him on the shoulder. The move was a bit awkward seeing as he was rather tall, however Bantu managed and then sauntered off to find a seat. She wanted front row seats to witness her first Gaian funeral.

Moving things along, because I really wish to see some activity in this place again. Summary of metaplot follows, as well as the growth of some of the contest children. I'm leaving it up to the owners to choose whether or not they write journal entries and have their wands go through the baby ghost stage or not. All will be required to write the appearance of their children, however, manifesting into babies. It's also up to the guardians who were involved (18 guardians had signed up and participated in the actual metaplot RP to attend the funeral) if they wish to write a journal entry reacting to the activities.

- Jora managed to infiltrate the funeral. During the service, she snuck away and planted 5 stones. A green and silver, blue and red, yellow and green, orange and pink and black and purple stone was placed at the five points of a star. Before she could place the last one, Coailiann noticed her and tried to follow her, ending up in a fight that disrupted the entire funeral.

- During the fight, the final stone rolled into place, encasing the funeral in a bubble and opening the portal that Jora had set up. Several creatures of the in between escaped into Gaia itself.

- While Jora was busy fighting with Coailiann (who has gotten severely bruised, gashed, and is tiring), the twins find their ability they were brought into existance for - guarding the portal. It's sealed and Jora, severely pissed off, disappears in the middle of the fight.

- Matilda's body disappears and the book which records all the guardians pulls Ianna's attention away from it which causes her to lead all guardians who hadn't gotten their wands prior away and give them their children.

- The funeral is closed and those who need places to stay are given a room, those who wish to leave are free to leave home.

- Ianna returns outside finding the stones, and takes them to lock them away. Several eyes follow her before they disappear completely. It seems the in between forgot something.

With that, Elin, James, Tahriah, and Kibarango have arrived.
