Vena finally caught her breath and finished chomping down the meat of her phesant and couldn't help but start chewing on the bones. Her gaze wondered aimlessly from staring at the fire to well.....staring at Fisk, of course she most itmes looked away if his gaze met hers.
Her eyes caught his words and she thought for a second. "No, I didn't have anywhere I was supposed to go, I was just trying to find my brother Tarik. But I can always restart that in the morning, it's much too dark for me to make it around. Hard to see." She spoke with a smile. She thought for a second, then looked at him, "Was there anywhere you were suposed to get to yourself tonight?" Her gaze wondered back to his face as she asked this, making sure to catch his answer.

"You have a brother? On this isle?" Fisk wasn't sure why this surprised him. He'd been under the impression that she had left her pack and was alone, but there was no reason to think she hadn't gone with a brother. "How did you get separated?"
When the question was returned to him he shrugged and smiled. "Nope, I'm just on a hunting trip. I wanted to try out a new area. No responsibilities. It's really nice, actually. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want." He stuck one end of a bone into the corner of his mouth and gave a lop-sided grin around it, turning to the fire and stirring up some coals. If he had waited to cook over the coals like he should have, they would have been starting only then. He was glad he didn't wait.
The fire rumbled and flailed, growing a bit bigger, and Fisk noticed that his stick had caught flame so he tossed it onto the pile. He spit the bone on after it and turned back to Vena. "If you'd like, I can help you look for your brother in the morning."

Vena smiled at his first reaction, "Tarik isn't my blood brother. He's a cervitaur who felt that small wolftaur infants shouldn't be left all alone to freeze in teh cold." She smiled a soft saddened smile. "We got seperated becuase we live such different lives. She visit each other often, but not live with each other like we did as children. He decided to go hang out with some cervis so i decided to see if any wolftaurs were crazy enough to come here." She winked at him, she was wondering if he had other family.
"Hunting trip, sounds like you can enjoy yourself." She smiled a gentle smile now, not sad any longer. "Though I admit, I was shocked to see another wolftaur here." Though I'm glad to have run into you. she added to herself.
At his last statements she thought for a minute. "You can if you want. Don't feel obligated to though." She gave him a wink. "We will probably meet again if you ever end up hunting here again. I hang out around here aften." She waved an arm around the clearing showing the clearing they were in and all the forest imediately close to the clearing. "Don't you have a family you need to return to Mighty Hunter?" She teased while asking a true question.

"He sounds like a good guy," said Fisk. The only time he'd met any cervitaurs before was when he was little, the same trip where he first met Vena. He didn't remember them very well. But he supposed that since she said they lived together as children, he probably had met her brother and just didn't recall.
He winked back at her. "Wolftaurs are pretty crazy, but I guess we're the craziest of them all since we're here." It wasn't surprising. What wolftaur would want to leave his pack and go rambling by himself? Fisk had done it voluntarily, but he had been getting lonely recently. And he intended to go back. "Don't you get lonely, being the only one of your kind? I know I was, and it hasn't even been that long. Good thing we came across each other."
Being called Mighty Hunter by someone other than himself sparked a little glow in his chest and a smile in his eyes. One hand groped instinctively for his spear, which lay at his side, and he rested his fingertips on it for a moment as if reassuring himself that it was there.
"I have a family, but they're not too worried about when I return. They know I can take care of myself. I go on trips like this a lot," he explained.

Vena smiled, "He is a good guy. Overly protective though wise enough to know to give others space when they need it." She smiled at Fisk. The wink was caught and she couldn't help but laugh, "Yes, agreed we must be the crazist of all wolftaur. Being here on another island away from our kind."
As then next question came her laughs quieted down. She seemed to ponder the question for a few long seconds. "Yes," she admitted," it does get lonely being the only wolftaur. But I've been ehre since an infant, so it isn't all that feeling." But after meeting you that'll probably all change. she added in her head.
Vena smiled at him, yes, he was a might hunter, she decided inside her head. She smiled at him, "I'll tell you what, tomorrow, I'll go look for my brother, and you go hunt some nice prey for your family." She continued only pausing to breathe. "And in four day's time, I'll be here, so if you wish to see me again, I'll be waiting. Sound Fair?" She hated saying good bye, but she knew it would be good for both to go to what they called their family for a time then maybe meet again.
Above them the moon seemed to threated to blow out their fire, except there was no wind, so it couldn't. Though it still seemed to stare at their fire with maybe a look of distaste.

Fisk rubbed his upper arms against a chill and moved some wood around in their small fire, thinking. "Four days, hm? That sounds good." That was plenty of time to catch whatever he could fit into his boat and bring it back across the sea. It would probably also be plenty of time for Vena to find her brother. "I'll be there."
Being the sociable, reasonably popular taur that he was, Fisk wanted to say that Vena should go back to her pack and try to work things out now that she was older and had proven herself by surviving. Maybe she didn't want to, after what they had done, which would be understandable. But he thought that being a loner must be a sad existence, and he wondered if she could somehow set it right. Trying not to sound insensitive he asked, "Have you ever thought about going back?" Too late he remembered that it didn't matter how he sounded. He hoped she didn't take it the wrong way.

Vena smiled. "Four days then." She looked at him, her eyes showing a bit of happiness, much more then she'd ever felt before. She started to rub her upper arms as she felt the wind.
At her next words she seemed to sadden, though she could see the feeling in his face, "I've thought about it yes," she spoke as her head turned to face the fire. " But what if they reckonize me and cast me out again? What if they told other packs about me and they cast me out." She looked at him, "You're the first wolftaur whose actually not said a crude word or cast be out of your sight once you've met me." She admitted the last part as her gaze went back to his face. Slowly she felt a warming feeling come to her cheeks. She raised her hands to feel her face but it seemed ok. Her blush was only able to be seen slightly becuase of the lack of light, but still seeable nonetheless.

This moved Fisk, though he could not have said precisely why or how. Anger -- or perhaps more accurately indignation -- toward other wolftaurs mixed with sadness and a sort of protectiveness so that when she blushed, his own cheeks darkened as well. He gave her an awkward pat on the shoulder. His hand was much colder than her skin, he realized, and he quickly withdrew it. No one likes being touched by cold hands. Rubbing his hands together he said, "Maybe we're not the crazy ones after all. I think I'd have to be crazy to get rid of you just because you can't hear."

Vena felt touched when he gave her a pat on the shoulder, it was awkward, but still, the thought itself touched her more then the act itself. As he meantioned that he'd be crazy to cast her out, her face darkened some more. "Thank you Fisk." She smiled. She wanted to hug him for being so kind, but she figured that would be so awkward.
She then moved her hand and placed it on his forearm. Her hand was warmer then his skin, if felt oddly nice. At least this wasn't as awkward as her hugging him. "Thanks." She repeated, her eyes showed him a happiness that was deeper then before. She was enternally greatful, becuase there was a wolftaur out there who did care.

His ears flattened against his head and he laughed, nervous but not displeased. Even though her hand was warm it sent a shiver up his arm. "You're welcome."
The situation had the potential to become uncomfortably awkward, so Fisk avoided that and smiled up at the moon with a sigh. It was night now. He was very much a daytime person and started to feel a hint of heaviness in his eyelids as he looked back down at the fire. Turning back to Vena he said, "It's getting kind of late."

Vena felt his unease as she saw his ears flatten. Slowly she witdrew her hand. She felt like saying sorry, but that would make this more awkwad.
As he looked up she turned her head to join him. Then looked at his face only catching the word late. "Yes, we should sleep. In the morning we part, only to meet again." She spoked quietly, almost as if she expected to get in trouble for speaking. She then turned her gaze to him. Wondering of his response.

The spot where her hand had been suddenly felt much colder than the rest of him with the removal of her warmth. He shivered and busily ran his hand through his hair, which had dried sticking up in various places. It would have been far too weird to say that she could put her hand back if she wanted to. So he held his tongue. When she sounded so chastised, though, he smiled in an encouraging way and tried to cheer her up, something in the back of his mind buzzing mutely. "I'll be here. Hey, maybe I'll even bring another spear. I'm sure we must have a spare one hanging around somewhere."

A small smile spread across the orange wolftaur's face as he smiled. "That'll be great." She nodded, only to bring up a hand to cover her mouth as she yawned. She blinked her bright eyes a few times before realizing if she didn't try to go to sleep, she'd fall asleep anyways.
Shifting over she curled up comfortably beside the fire, so the warmth would still reach her some. Then crossing her arms she placed her head on them and murmered a gentle, "Goodnight," before her eyes fully closed.
Her mind drifted to thoughts that seemed to have belonged in another world. Her sides rose and fell with the deep even breathing of sleep, only to comfirm the face, that she wolftaur had fallen alseep. But deep cown, she couldn't wait to be able to meet Tarik again, and Fisk.

Fisk poked around in the fire one more time. He piled the wood and coals up to keep them going as long as they would, then left it to chance and lay down as well. He said "Good night" back, and only a few minutes later did he realize she'd missed it because her eyes were closed. He smirked at himself and drifted off to the sound of crickets and other night creatures, one arm cradling his spear, dreaming of the hunt as usual.

The fire had gone to coals as she bright sun crept up over the treeline. The sky was painted with beautiful colors of pink, orange and the beautiful colored clouds floated across the scene above the sleeping taur.
The warmth of the sun fell onto the orange wolftaur's face, causing her to blink a few times unsure what was going on. Above them blue birds sung their beautiful songs in the trees. The winds swept gently through the clearing making Vena's hair blow gently as she sat up. Bringing her fists up to her eyes she rubbing the sleep out of them and yawned while stretching. "Mornin'" She murmrered not even sure if the green wolftaur beside her had awoken yet.
