Masquanade We have hookers. Those are people. On our uniform we have these little hook things that require talent to do by yourself so usually you get people to hook it for you, thus the name hookers. (And people literally shout across my bandhall- I NEED A HOOKER or if they have some specific hooker- WHERE IS MY HOOKER!) OMG WE HAVE THOSE TOO! ^_^ i always get the best hookers... lol well - sometimes i just hook myself... but most of the time i have a hooker... normally a baritone ^_^ ^_^ (see my post on the 'are the rumors true?' thread).

I always wanted to give a pet a band related name but I never had the chance. I either start calling them something odd like 'Snickers' or someone named them before me. As for my band nickname, to all marchers Im known as 'The Cute One'. They call me this because Im only about 4"11 and definately the shortest there. Darn you Katelyn for giving me that nickname! In our section we all have nicknames but I dont remember all of 'em. jamie i <3 you dear... lol our nicknames are: the crazy aunt (me), the mommy (melissa), the peacekeeper (jen e.), the drama queen (jen h. aka the b****), the mascot (steph), and the cute one (you! ^_^) sry hadta clear that one up... i can't wait for our new uniforms! but then again - we'll HAVE to have hookers... no more self-hooking for me crying lol (considering they'll b zipped/hooked from the back and not the front). wow that sounded so wrong in my mind... lol

(And people literally shout across my bandhall- I NEED A HOOKER or if they have some specific hooker- WHERE IS MY HOOKER!) we have those too! we have jokes. we're all "clods" and whenever something is lost, we make a big deal of it (ie. we lost the band truck, it's about the size of...a large truck or small room). we walk instep down the halls, and yell guide when we aren't in line, and we have certain routine moves that we bust out in the middle of the hall. then a couple people, including myself, have named their instruments. and i do have a pet rock named Lye (from lyre)

we call our plumes chickens because they're white feather plumes so we all yell "WHERES MY CHICKEN!" across the band room.

Mello-phony When our zipper on our jacket sticks up its a boner. And when the hat isn't straight, we say it's gay. And then when we zip up ppls jackets we "do" them. We call the gaurd the "whores". (they strip in our show) Our 3 drum majors are named after our movements. Gavin- Saint Micheal the Archangel Kelly- Something of Saint Clare Greg or GPH- Saint Gregory the Great! Our show is Stained Glass and the music is from Church Windows. yeah we have our doing and tony owns all our asses.

I'm known as Spindel in band, because I did a 4-count turn around in one count during practice. (it was my freshman year) We were practicing it in 8-count block, for the Stormquest show. Then Josh (section leader at the time) says "Hey, stop spinning like that! You look like a spinning top, or like a spindel that's too fast!.....OH! I got a name for you! You're now Spindel!"
Yeah..... sweatdrop ....that was one of those moments where silence was a good response. Anyway, some of the upperclassmen still call me that, since I still can't do a 4-count turn around. But it was better than my friend, who got named Thudbutt, because he looked like a character from Peter Pan.

We have lots of cadets in our band so we just use last names. I'm Aunty Bob though.(long story and it was really late). we name doors though.
It gets really interesting when freshies come.

Me: OI! BROWN....*Obed yells back "Office"* That way

We call each other names like trombone players are "boners" (lord forgive me for ever using that term) and clarinets are "clarinuts".(ah my section is crazy)

My school is in the full of ghetto coachroaches and mice anyways, but one day during pre camp a lizard is running across the band room. So, being the weirdo I am. I catch him. The band at the highschool is obsessed with Harry Potter...Therefore, we named him Salazar. (After Salazar Slytherin). He is still alive, but we did let him go. He comes back every now and then, and we keep him for awhile before we let him go again. ^_^ Yes, I am in a weird band. Oh yeah, we have call out music keeper Lord Palptine, and the BD Lord Vader. (WOOO STAR WARS)

I named my trombone Raphael Norman Peabody. 3nodding thats so odd...there's a Norman and a Peabody in my band whee theyre both werid... Lol. Well, I changed it now, so it's Gerard. I named it after the shmexay lead singer of My Chemical Romance, so now I can go blow Gerard. xp That's kind of nasty and odd in a way. It's still Raphael, though... So that would make it Gerard Raphael Norman Peabody. Brilliant on my part. YESSS!!!!!!! I want Gerard...and I want to blow him biggrin heart

You think if I start calling my friends their other names in band I could say they're band related pep names...? Actually, funny story behind mine at least.
We were talking out in the hall ouside the band room (we usually eat inside, but I think it was band auction time so the room was stuffed full of stuff) and the long-term sub BD came out. We had been talking about dominatrixes for some strange reason, and so when Mr. Hardie comes out my one friend says something relating him to dominatrixes... It was mind scarring. After then, I became the group's official dominatrix. gonk And my name is... Lady Beatrix de Montague.
Oh, and my friend refers to our band as "Smurfs". She has older sisters who were in band, and apparently we were always referred to as smurfs because our BD has brilliant white hair, and our sweaters are smurf blue whee

One of the alto saxephonists in my school's band went a whole week where he wouldn't answer to anything but 'sexayphone.' He's a bit immature.
The bass clarinet player was called The Squeaker for a while.
My old nickname was Elephant Killer, because I lost my temper while I was practicing once and made a loud blurting noise that sounded like I had just shot an elephant, back when I played trumpet.
The trumbonists were called sliders for a while.
Now I go by Morning dove Killer, because I got mad while playing my french horn, and ended up only hitting a very high and mournfull souding note for about five seconds.
And the timpani player was called Simply Weak until he finally pounded the timpani during his solo, hurting all our ears. And now he's just called by his real name.
