Celtic Frost/Hellhammer - where do i put 'em?
they are cited by some as the first wave of black metal, by others as thrash, and Frost's is now heading in a doom direction...so which subgenre should i put a celtic frost/hellhammer thread in?

I'd say thrash, since the stuff that they're known for.

Mister Lewis where did the term Melo-Death come from? and i dont mean Melodic Death As far as I know, the term itself came from shortening Melodic Death, and ended up being used for a variation on the style.

Well, the term Melo-death, either refers to the Gothenburg scene or the Power metal with harsh vocals. I'm not completely sure which one it is.

I'm not completely sure which one it is. i only know two bands who qualify for Power with harsh vocals (maybe you know more) so i would normally refer to it as the Gothenburg scene

Krusnik Yoshiki Where does Van Halen fall? Are they Glam Rock or Glam Metal? And if they are Metal,w here do they fall? They're hard rock. Bands from the "Hair Metal" scene are either Hard Rock or just plain Heavy Metal.
