Plot Summary for New Characters:
The fellowship of the ring failed - Sauron regained the ring. Aragorn was ambushed and believed dead. The elves have all left Middle-Earth and any free peoples left have long been in hiding, hopelessly separated, leaving only hardened travellers or armies of orcs/Uruk-hai roaming the country at will. Minas Tirith the city is mostly intact, but the people are dead or scattered since a fateful battle long before - all other previous "light" strongholds are in a similar situation.
Plot Summary of Current Characters:
Kareswen and Venerah have been trailing the orc army, killing off stragglers as often as they can, riding away before the army can find them. They got separated during one of their raids, somewhere near Minas Tirith. As it was the city she grew up in, Kareswen returned there briefly. While she was there, she was seen by Ranu, who persuaded her to lead him into Mordor as she has found a way inside once before. They have just left Minas Tirith and are heading towards Osgiliath.
