She tried to smile at his reassuring tone but it probably came out as a grimice. She took a deep breath when he asked for them to talk and prepared for the first question. "No I don't suppose they do. My family and I have traveled for many years and for the past few months we have stopped moving around and settled. We found a small area that the sunlight never reaches and began to build there. I...I wondered off by accident and got a little lost. I could have made it back, but, well when I went to turn around I realized the sun was rising from the way I came and if I went back then I would get burned. So I ran. Originally I had been looking for a place away from the sun but it was rising too fast and I couldn't get away." She answered.

Batou raised his eyebrows. "This might be a problem... your family will be very worried about you, you know. Where were you last? I'll try to arrange for some ninja to find them, and tell them of your whereabouts. Being allergic to the sun must be tough..." he said sympathetically. Batou was the antithesis of that being quite dark skinned and all. "I'm sure my aunt has some clothes that she doesn't want, and some of those would definitely fit you. They're cotton so it won't be too hot."

"Thank you." She said relaxing slightly. "I'm not exactly sure where we were ... I believe somewhere more south west but my direction was thrown off in the run. I know the area has a waterfall not a mile from it that is very shallow but very tall. Its very sunny there and a little to the east is the clearing where my family resides." She breathed deeply and tried to block out the pain more fully. "As for being allergic...I'm not quite sure that's exactly what it is. I don't break out in anything nor does it have any other side affect discluding the burns themselves. Its more like a melinin difficency gone haywire. Almost as if my body can't produce the needed substance to keep me from burning but at the same time - if memory serves me right - my skin actually caught fire."
She paused for a moment then finnished her thought. "Basically, I spontainiously combust."

"Nice details!" Batou said appreciatively. "I'm sure we have a free genin squad. It'll give them a chance to get out of town and help you at the same time! And ooh," Batou gave a wince as she described the details of her condition. "I admire you.." he said softly. "I don't know how I would live with that condition. But as long as your skin is covered nothing will happen to it, right?"
He looked at the girl and studied her closely. She was quite small but small people were usually quite nimble. "Just wondering," he said, "but are you interested in studying in our ninja academy? My best friend teaches there," he said, his tone immediately brightening up at the mention of his friend. "You'd definitely get a lot healthier and stronger."

"Ninja?" She paused for a moment, it hadn't ever accured to her that she would ever be anything other than what her mother was. She had already begun her studies in the herbal arts and her blood was already tainted by seven years of careful fustion to various poisons. "What of my kin? I assume that if I were a student then I would be living here, so what of of my family? And I've already begun to learn the arts of my people, would I be able to continue them on top of my additional studies I would be taking on?"
She shook her head slowly. "I would like to say yes, dearly I would but unless you can honestly offer me at least the semblance of a balance the I cannot except your offer I'm afraid." Her face was sorrowful and she turned her head away from the mans gaze.

Hiro came in removing his cloak and setting it by her bed. He had heard the conversation and was sure he could help convince her. "The cloak should keep the sun away and the aloe I brought should help. As for your studies in the healing arts, its easy to do as you whish. When I went through the academy I studied on my own the way of the sword. Now I am sixteen and I handle it quite well. Becoming a shinobi is one of the greatest things that ever happened to me, but it is also the worst."
Hiro turned to Batou and handed him the aloe. "Is there anything else?"

"Well, they would be given an apartment here, I suppose," Batou said. "They would be given one of the nicer ones if you study in the academy. And you could most definitely strike a balance between your arts, whatever they involve, and your other studies. What are your family arts anyway?" he asked curiously.
"Like I said," he said with a grin, although she wouldn't be able to see it, "You would be able to strike a balance. Your body would grow a lot healthier because of the conditioning, and you would be able to defend yourself. You'd also get to see a lot more and help people." At that point Hiro came in and gave the aloe to Batou, which he received gratefully. "Thanks Tategami," he said. "And well... we'll let you decide. I'll call the doctor though, the operation is possible now. But of course we need to draw a sample of your blood.."
Batou pressed the button anyway and the medical personnel would come in the next few seconds.
[Um... let's say that the doctor went away. I sort of forgot about him >>]

"I guess then that I don't have a problem with staying and training in the ninja arts." She smiled slightly. "My family is that of the poison mistresses and of course there are some males in the tradtions as well. I began my training at six." She smiled faintly. "Two and a half aloe leaves to a quart of my blood, its the proportion you will need for the salve - no more and no less. I thank you for everyth-" She never got to finish the sentence however as the strain finally caught up with her and she slipped into the unconscience lands.

"That's great to know!" Batou said with a grin. "Poison mistresses huh... sounds interesting." But he never got to reply to her last phrase as well she'd fainted. The door burst open and the doctor rushed in, evidently anticipating this sort of situation. He grabbed the leaves from Batou and looked at him, and, anticipating the question, Batou said simply, "Two and a half aloe leaves to a quart of her blood for the salve."
Nodding, the doctor shooed Hiro and Batou out of the room and ordered the nurses to prepare the salve while he grabbed his surgical equipment. Vesimine was put under anaesthetic just in case she woke up during the operation. The doctor worked quickly and soon her eyes were fixed with practically no sign of scarring. The doctor was skilled indeed...
Meanwhile, Batou sat outside the room not knowing what to do. He should really head back to the Kage's office and his reception desk since his lunch break was long over but he didn't want to just leave the girl like that...

(OOC) Thanks Kouri!
(IC)
One hour and fourty seven minutes later (Why? Because I said so).
The doctor left the room blood staining his hands. It had been an easy procedure but the staff was very digruntled with the girls state in the begining and made a few mistakes. It appeared the scaring would be little if any and she was recovering fast. Two or three of the staff weren't, however. There was more to her blood than meets the eye. When they opened her eyes there was a bloody film over the actual orb that would have interfeared with the healing and sealed them shut again. When the nurse went to clean away the blood she got some on her hand and it had begun to eat her flesh at a surprisingly fast rate.
It didn't make any sence that it would be used in a healing salve. He pondered this as he turned to the waiting man. "We are finished. She is mending nicely and will be able to move in no time."

Hiro was still intrested in this situation and did not have anything better to do. He had no teacher and the Mistress was missing somewhere in the village so being here cant be all bad. "Is she seriously ill, or will she be fine in the long run?"

Batou had fallen asleep several times during the operation but woke up when the doctor exited the room.
"Thanks, doctor," he said gratefully. Looking to the side, he noticed that the Tategami boy was still here. Didn't he have a teacher... well, obviously not. "I think she'll be fine," he told him. "I mean, it appears that this has happened to her many times..." Turning back to the doctor, he asked, "Can we go in?"

"Certainly, she's awake though I would say only just - she's still a little groggy and has yet to gain her barings. I would also have to agree with you, this obviously is not the first time something like this has happened though I would venture a guess that it was at an increasingly smaller scale." He said before turning and strolling down the hallway to turn in his new file on the strange young girl.
Meanwhile inside the room Vesimine had woken to find herself able to see again and was relieved to know that her sight was fine. She was still a little out of it from the sleeping meds they had given her but she was slowly gaining conscienceness of her suroundings. She was quite obviously in a hospital and as she began to inspect herself as well she noticed that her skin was already loosing its chared appearance.
