..... if we're talking the heroes of the games... then I have to go with Riou from Suiko II. I've only just started playing Suiko I (so I haven't gotten to know Tir that well yet), Suiko III was never released over here in the UK (so I don't know much about that game unfortunately crying ) and Suiko IV... eh... the hero for that game could have been better I think.
So Riou for me.... although in reality, my favorite Suiko character of all is the dude in my signature pic, i.e. Flik (the Suikoden II version of him) 4laugh

A tie with Thomas or Lazlo. I like Thomas more because he didn't seem like the actual "hero" type. He felt normal and yet tried his hardest to succeed. He felt like the realist Tenkai in the series.

I like Faroush the most heart Although he's not on the list for some updating reasons question But anyway, I like the most because he's so cute^^ and everybody loves him. His rune I don't think was all that impressive though. But oh well.

Honestly, I think Thomas is awesome. Then Chris, followed by Hugo. Faroush is pretty cool too, then Riou..aww, I can't number them - they're all "no. 1's" to me.

Fugen GothikElf im all about Tir Mcdohl, (Tir being the name givin to him in the japanese novel) I thought Tir was the english name, Bocchan the japanese. Hero2 was Riou/Shinjuku (eng/jap respectively). i thought shinjuku means hero?? hmm....... but ya and funeral they're technically the heroes since u control them most of the time... the real hero/main character is thomas since he is the tenkai star and he is the one who leads the army and what all tenkai's do and my favorite hero is Riou from 2 because the whole story got me playing the game and its easy to relate to him

Funeral Wind Are Hugo, Chris and Geddoe really main characters? LOL! If you can play as them, they're main characters. So basically, the list of main characters includes not only the heros, but Chris, Hugo, Geddoe, Koroku, Luc, Nash, Lyon, Zweig, Rene, Elenor, Champo, and your Big Fat Boat from S4.

Funeral Wind Are Hugo, Chris and Geddoe really main characters? well, basically "yes" since they lead the 108 stars and recruit them which is the job for the main character... but traditionally "no" since the Tenkai Star character has always been the lead character and the legend of the 108 SoD says that the Tenkai Star shall gather and lead the other SoD and Thomas is S3's Tenkai Star, not Hugo, Chris and Geddoe. So in the end, the real hero of S3 is Thomas.

So in the end, the real hero of S3 is Thomas. I can't honestly imagine anyone saying "Hail Sir Thomas, hero of the Grasslands!" unless his task involved dropping the One Ring into Mt. Doom. (Plus, he isn't a candidate for the True Fire Rune, so he can't actually be the hero. And his chapters are optional. And Tenkai translates into "Chief Star of Heaven," I believe, and Thomas /was/ the Castle Master, making him the "chief" of Budehuc, so it fits. And programming to have either Hugo, Chris, or Geddoe to be the Tenkai would be a big variable. I mean, who would fit into the other Star?) And my favorite main character is Tir. YAY TIR!!!
