Azariel laughed softly, “You don’t even know what they look like, how will you bring them back?” Truthfully, if he didn’t even know that much about them, he couldn’t really do anything to help her. She didn’t want help either, it was not something she would ever ask or want in this situation.
She snorted softly, “Of course it is,” she replied, “The simple fact that your parents don’t know what you’re doing is a bit of a release in and of itself.” She knew the feeling well, she had tried to capture it often enough when she had been a filly.
“Ha!” She picked up her pace, a bit ruffled over his words. She would not be bested by him today or any day for that matter. She moved past him, trotting up the small hill to her teepee, nudging Mashki gently as she stood up to shake out another towel. “…Azariel!” Her human grumbled as the towel slipped out of her grasp.
It landed a few feet away, in front of familiar white hooves. A black muzzle dipped to snatch it up and step forward. She new that muzzle, knew that coloration. How? How had he come here? How hadn’t she noticed? She watched with wide eyes as the towel was gently given to her human, unable to believe her foolishness.
“Hello, Azariel,”
…Her father was here.

The scene that unfolded in front of him nearly made the desire to burst into laughter uncontrollable. If he had been younger and more green around the gills he probably would have started to fumble around wildly to disappear. As is, it'd be interesting to meet the stallion that had sired such a hellion for a daughter. Did his sons have as much spunk? Or did she get both of their shares?
"Weell now, it looks like we're in fer a bit of company." Everything she said before registered in his mind a couple of minutes too late but she'd probably want an answer.. Or at least maybe he could do a bit of provoking of her temper.
"What were ye sayin' there lass about doin' things when yer parents dinna know?" Oh-ho.. What fun it was and what pain he'd probably be in the next time she had him alone. Now that was a cheery enough thought to take the edge off of her kicking in his teeth. Alone-time usually worked in his favor if her defenses were down for several minutes.
Taking a deep breathe he moved forward to nudges Mashki, nipping at the edge of her shirt and tugging a bit. Probably would flush the human a bit before he turned his mint-green eyes on the black-as-midnight stallion in front of him, "'Ello"

The stream of silent words that flared through her mind were far too vivid and expressive to be revealed in this context. "Caelen..." She growled, anger boiling to the surface. Stupid, stupid, stupid stallion!
"You just wait until I meet your mother," She hissed, "I'll be the best tattletale the world has ever known to her!" She glared balefully at him. The little sneak! She'd never be telling him anything again.
Why was she so angry? She valued her father's approval and appreciation over so many things. If he were disappointed in her...she'd be devastated. Even now, when she was avoiding him so much, she still wanted him to approve of her.
Mashki raised an eyebrow in surprise as she was nudged and took the opportunity to grasp the green stallion's ears, "Watch it, boy." She warned, lips twitching upward.
------------------
Kale chuckled softly, "No hello to your father, eh, Az?" He asked, shaking his head, "I had hoped for at least something after not seeing my only daughter in weeks." Had he just attempted to guilt-trip her? Apparently.
His green eyes shifted back to the stallion that had been with his daughter as he had arrived. Oh-ho, Az hadn't just been avoiding him after all, eh? "Good day to you," He answered the other, nodding his head slightly in greeting. Well, at least she hadn't been with someone boring, he seemed to be entertaining himself with his daughter's two-legger.
"Now, now, Az, I'm sure he didn't mean anything terrible by it," He assured his daughter, smiling. It was amusing to see his daughter interact with others, she had such fire about her.

Caelen wiggled his free ear and managed to look up at Mashki with wide innocent eyes. The big-mean-mare-lady was yelling at him again, would nobody defend him? Inside he could feel the desire to laugh building up all over again, but right now he'd probably have to impress her father or some such.
"Now Az, lass. Ye seem ter be fergettin' one major thing. Me mam already knows I'm the worst child on earth. and.." Grinning wickedly at her for a moment, "Yer the only mare I've had the chance ter get inter trouble with.. ye'd be tattlelin' on yerself."
Perhaps he should tease her just a bit less as she was with her father and the desire to impress was probably just a bit overpowering.
Damned if the two-legger didn't let go 'o him soon he'd have to take to tearing clothes off or rearing up a bit to get his point across. Another minute or so before Mashki would probably get pushed ... or something.
"Yer Kale, no? And I'm afraid that with yer daughter I've always got somethin' terrible behind me actions." Well.. it depended on who's side you were on for that statement, "She'll jest hav ter get used ter me, I'm supposin'"

Mashki chuckled softly, "Don't play innocent with me, boy," She chided gently, "I'm sure whatever Azariel is saying has a point. You are not innocent in the least." She let go of him gently, stepping back to resume her laundry.
Azariel growled low in her throat. She was this close to throttling him, the only thing keeping her back was the knowledge that her father would definitely not approve of it. "I'm sure I can tell her things that will get you into an entirely new level of trouble if you keep it up, Caelen," She hissed warningly, her glare almost enough to strike something dead.
Honestly, where did he get off on this? He should at least try to appear like a gentleman in fron of her father! What was he going to do if Kale ordered Az away from him? Ha, knowing Caelen he'd ignore it. Az wouldn't.
---------------------------
Kale chuckled agai, obviously, there was something going on between the two. His daughter looked about ready to kill the green stallion if he tried anything more and she was also clearly under the "do-well-in-front-of-parent" phenomina he had heard about...once.
"Indeed I am," He eplied kindly, smiling still. He liked this new one, despite his apparent desire for death-by-mare. Hoo if those two ever became something...
"Don't all of us, then?" He replied, sighing softly. He knew all too well what a mare could think of a stallion, Az hadn't held back on her opinions and experience loved to reveal itself. "But usually my daughter has something sound to her thoughts and actions. I hope you haven't done anything too bad." He warned softly, teasing a bit. Even he liked to play with his only daughter.
Used to him? Oh-ho, so he wanted to court Az, eh? Or at least attempt to, even if the entire affair ended in friendship. Hmm...at least Az would get a decent relationship in the entire mix. He shook his head, green eyes glancing at his daughter, wondering if she'd exploded yet.

Och, this group were out to have his heart put up on a platter and served with a lovely side of pickles. He was loving every minute of it. Most of the mares he had met were a nice bunch but entirely too spiritless, the others had just been over-blown. Walking carefully would keep him close.
"Now now lass, ye've no need ter threaten me that badly." His eyes rolled upwards for a moment before moving close enough to lip at her neck affectionately, "and quit yer glarin' yer a heartbreaker when ye use yer eyes on me like that."
Ahh, time to address the father he supposed. While the stallion before him was older than him he sensed it wasn't by that much. Azariel was too serious for her and he never really had grown up. A nice balance if he did say so himself.
"Me name's Caelen, but yer more likely ter hear the lass call me some other more colorful names." He winked at the black stallion before grinning again, "Aye, I'm a terrible monster I am. I've made her laugh, I've made her angry, and most of all I've refused to go away when she orders it."
There was a time for playing and a time for serious and while for Caelen the scale tipped most definately in favor of the other it'd probably only be fair for him to give some true information, "I'll nae hurt yer lass an' me intentions'll nae'r be bad. That much I give me word on."

Azariel nipped back at him, her bite not nearly as playful. She wasn't in the mood for games at the moment. She wanted to kick and do it hard. Bruise him and make him regret ever making her look like a fool and an angry and bitter creature in front of her own father. She also wanted to throttle the guilt that rose up when he spoke again. Stupid.
She snorted disdainfully. As if she'd use vulgar words in front of her father. She was too well brought-up by him for that! She chuffed softly, remaining silently for the rest of his little speech.
The temptation to stomp off like an immature filly was almost stron enough for her to actually do it. What was he trying to do? Court her? Woo her? Ha! She'd have none of that! Spark or no sprak she was not going to do something asfoolish as fall in love with anyone! Let alone a green irish stallion who infuriated her multiple times a day!
----------------------------
Kale held back a chuckle but only barely. Obviously, the couple barely got along under the best of circumstances. He was sure there would be plenty or fiery explosions to come. He'd pay to see those too.
"A pleasure to meet you, Caelen," He repeated softly, his smile never leaving. It was always nice to meet another stallion, and one that semed quite intent on his daughter. Je cuckled and shook his hea, "I wouldn't say that, Azariel isn't one to call anyone colorful names," He chided gently, green eyes glancing at his daughter with a bit of curiosity.
Oh? So he was going straight to the point, eh? Kale couldn't say he didn't like such a trait, "So I can assume my only daughter will be safe in the care of a stallion who clearly sets her off as often as possible?" He asked, head tilting a bit to the side. He wasn't incredibly concerned--Azariel had long since proven her capability to take care of herself. Much to Kale's disappointment.
He sighed softly, rememberig the dayswhen he had had to chase all of his children around and make sure they were safe. Back to the days when his little Az constantly insisted that she was just as good as a colt and would mever fall in love. He wondered how long that would last now.

Ahh, the little mare refused to see that she was the one being way over-guarded and over-excited. Kale hadn't looked at him in any sort of territorial or aggressive way nor had he looked his daughter over in disapproval. Was she paranoid or did the stallion actually have a streak in him that would condone doing that to his own blood?
Rubbing his nose over her neck again and again he just waited for her to calm down. For the next few miniutes he would just let her take control of the conversation or Kale, whomever decided to do it.
The rage that was coming off of her and onto him in waves was almost too much for him not to smile at. She had about ten times more spunk than most and it'd probably keep him dancing around all the time. Correction, it would keep him dancing around at all times.
"'S a pleasure ter meet ye too." Oi, he had almost added a lad onto that. Even if Azariel didn't believe he was behaving.. he was. The desire to group the mare's father in with just regular folk nearly tripped him up. "Oh? Weeell, maybe it's a habit she's jest learnt special fer me.. Colorful namin' that is."
"Aye, She's safe with me. Ye see I've grown fond 'o bein' the one that sets her off and I'm nae likely ter give up somethin' I'm fond of. Although I could dwell deeper I believe your lass would be a wee bit enraged at me talkin' about her like she's not here, is that right lass?" Probably, she wasn't horse-flesh to divvy up and decide on her future. No, she certainly wasn't a willing little maiden.
He wondered how much longer 'til Azariel began to admit that she didn't hate him or even loathe mildly.

She was embarrassed. Very, very embarrassed. She didn't like public displays of affection. She didn't like to be touched and especially didn't like to enjoy it. Damn him.
She nudged his head away, "Stop that," She hissed softly, "You're embarrassing me!" Her face burned. Her father had always told her she'd regret her promises of never finding someone kkto be with. With Caelen acting as he was now, her father was sure to think there was something overt going on. She didn't want to deal wth "I told you so"'s today...or any day for that matter.
She huffed softly, ears flicking backwards a smidgen. How kind of him to think of her as he spoke with her father. At least he wasn't acting as if she wasn't there. "Yes," She answered softly, finally speaking again. Caelen truly had a gift for making her angry.
-----------------------------
Kale shook his head, smiling still. Ah, young love....he winced inwardly, shoving away the memories, they were needless here.
"She does have a habit of developing traits specifically for other people," He commented lazly, regarding his daughter kindly. She looked ready to explode, poor thing. Youth in both body and mind was both a blessing and a curse. He just hoped he wouldn't become a grandfather too soon.
.....He'd have to make sure Azariel never heard that thought.
A soft chuckle, "Let's just hope Az doesn't maul you first, right, Az?" He asked, laughing and shaking his head. It really was fun to set her off. He could see the appeal Caelen had for it.
His poor daughter. She didn't even realize what was there when it was practically staring her in the face. Aiee.

The little mare nudged him away again. Well, he might as well take advantage of the fun he could have playing the injured-lover.
Sighing deeply he managed to hide his mirth and give her big mournful green eyes, "Lass, are ye hellbent terday on rippin' out me heart and tramplin' it with those dainty hooves?" Inside he was laughing and just waiting to see what sort of retort he'd get for his effort. He'd been kicked once not all that long ago, luckily the wound had healed save for a small pale-green scar. Would she actually kick too?
She had a gift for making him want to simply grin. Soon enough given enough time she'd probably realize she was being a bit ridiculous. But that's the female perogative and part of what he found to be endearing.
"She does, eh? I've yet ter really be 'round the lass with other Soquili's around so it's hard ter say." In public was she a lady of "genteel" breeding that only showed her hatred to him? Oh-ho it had to be love right? Uh.. maybe later.
"Ahh but such a lovely lass maulin' me would surely make death more interestin'" .. I bet I just racked up some "I'll get you later" points for that comment.
She'd learn eventually, he was willin' ter wait..

Azariel jerked her head away, looking affronted. Guilt wrapped around her chokingly--at least until she realized her was just doing it to see her reaction. "You--!" She latched onto his green ear-gently enough that it only hurt a little (or so she hoped) "You need to learn when to not do those things to me!" She hissed, any maturity she had tried to keep fleeing her.
"What would you have done if I'd actually believed that!" She released him with a huff and strode past him and her father. She didn't want anything to do with either of them at the moment. Stupid stallions.
"I'll be back, you two boys "bond" or something." Tail lashing against her back legs and ignoring the pain her leg caused her, she stalked off so she could cool down.
--------------------------
"Ach, look what happened." Sighed Kale, shaking his head. He was still thinking this entire parade was funny, but his daughter's anger dampened things a bit. Pity.
"She's had a rough time though," He mused softly, watching as his daughter faded into the trees, "It's a wonder she's not more confrontational." His gaze returned to the stallion opposite him, amusement glinting, "Though your attitude doesn't seem to help much, does it?"
A soft chuckle, "She'll learn though. She'll have to, if she ever wants a relationship, that is." Sometimes he doubted it, despite the clear knowledge that no one could avoid a relationship like this. No matter how hard they tried. Another soft sigh, life loved to mess with it's charges.
"So how determined are you with this?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, "How long would you wait for her?" It was a valid question. Azariel would take ages to bring around, a stallion would have to be determined and willing to wait for as long as it took.

Caelen winced slightly when the pearly whites of the darling mare decided to wrap around his ear. Staring up at her for a moment he waited for her to let go so he'd be able to get an earful of what she had to say to him. It hurt but he'd had worst and he still wasn't bleeding luckily. Shaking his head softly Caelen sighed as she began make her way out of the teepee.
"Lass don't strain yer leg too much, or ye'll have ter put up with me comp'ny til it's better." That was his only parting shot and part of him was worried she'd try something stupid like forcing extra weight on it or running. He'd beat her for stupidity - father or no.
"Well Kale, it seems we've been told ter "bond" but I'm afraid my mind loses what precisely we need ter bond over." Looking out the teepee one more time he shook his head, "Would ye believe me if I said that I'm nae surprised at what jest happened and that I was pushin' fer it? The lass trusts me about as far as she can hurl me. Everything I used ter say was taken seriously an' now only about half.. Sooner or later I'm hopin' she figures it out."
"Her mum, no?" The black stallion before him had had more than his fair share of problems that much was plain but would he let problems keep him down. Lord he hoped not.. emo ponies weren't his style in the least.
"Yer Az is cryin' out fer someone ter be there." These words might hurt the father but he'd rather be frank about it than lie to make feelings stay soothed. "I canna say what'll come of our relationship but I'll nae ever truly be gone, honestly I canna say how long I'll wait as I'm not waiting. She's part o' me life now an' me her."

With a small ear flick to indicate she had heard what the green irishman had said, she allowed herself to disappear into the woods. Time to cool off.
---------------------
Kale laughed, "Maybe bond over the fact that we're both a part of the same mare's life?" He shrugged slightly, "Though mine is more secondary by far to yours." A chuckle, or at least he hoped, right?
He sighed and shook his head, "She has trouble trusting others, as you probably know quite well." He glanced after her and shook his head again, "Of course, she has the perfect right to, her mother and brothers have left us alone. Things like that don't exactly promote someone to trust easily.
Kale blinked in surprise. Had Azariel spoken about him and her mother? He smiled faintly, "Indeed, Marina left a long time ago." He shook his head, "But it's in the past. I'm trying to move on and I can only hope Azariel is as well." A pair of ears flicked slightly in a wince.
Had he? Had he been to wrapped up in his own problems to reognize that his daughter had needed someone? With the way she was, it was probably true. Ah, he had been far too young for children. "Indeed?" He answered finally, looking at the other with slightly raised eyebrows, "Ah, you don't know Az as well as you thought, now do you?"
He chuckled, "When she finally accepts something she's not going to let it go." His head tilted a smidgen and his smile widened, "You do know that you're already speaking as if you're a pair, yes? If you aren't careful, Az may begin to assume things that might not be there." Oh, he hoped some things were there. Kale wouldn't mind a son like him.

"Weell, I supoose there is that much ter bond o'er. Ye'll find I'm a talkative enough stallion but I'm nae really inter emotional greetings." His idea of love was stepping up beside someone in a time of need and being there when they didn't. Not stupid suffocationg words of endearment and being on each other 24/7 to make sure one never stumbled.
"Aye, I've figured out that little bit of information out quite easily. The lass can't stand me bein' around but I have a feelin' she missed me when I was gone." Grinning up at the black stallion, Caelen couldn't precisely see how the two were cut from the same cloth. The one in front of him had been hurt, but he was nowhere near as distrusting. Age probably brought his maturity.
"Bad memory, ye ken.. but Azariel has spoken a smidgeon on her mum and what I got from it wasna rainbows'an'kittens. But the subject has to be sore ter you so it'll work fer us both ter leave it go, no?"
"Aye, I know what yer sayin' well and truly enough. I've not been 'round her very much at least this go 'round. Let's just say I pushed hard last time an' thass why the lass let me stay 'round her so long this time. After last time she needed a month er so ter think 'o how she felt." Sighing softly and grinning weakly he raised his eyes back up to the stallion, "I'm nae sure yet if I'll have ter push again then disappear. I'm hopin' she'll want ter meet me adopted foal sooner er later."

Kale laughed again, rolling his eyes upward, "When is any decent male one to greet someone else emotinoally?" He asked, snorted softly. Kale may be an extrememly mellow male, but he wasn't one of those few who's gender was in question.
"I wouldn't know," Replied Kale softly, shrugging, "She's been avoiding me for quite a while." A mock-depressed sigh, "Let's just say if she doesn't want you to find her, you won't." He shook his headagain, braids gently smacking against his black neck.
"Az has reason not to speak good of her mother; it's not as if she remained with them after the children were born," He commented, remembering the days when they had first come out of their baskets and had become the little terrors of youngsters. He hadn't gotten a good rest until they began to leave--and even then he still didn't sleep much at all. A soft snort, "Of course it's a sore point, but that won't make me too depressed to do anything."
"Ah, I see, then." He murmured, mulling over this new bit of information. He was silent for a few moments, debating his next words, "...I'm not going to give you specific permission for anything, but I'm not going to deny anything either just..." He sighed again, "If anything goes farther...I'd rather not be a grandfather too soon, understand?" He hoped the green stallion did. They both had to be ready, because Kale wasn't sure either he or Azariel were ready to raised children. Let alone what a hormonal mother-to-be Az would be like...
