Hatred automatically raged through Siy's blood. This in itself made her even angrier. She was raised to never pass judgement on someone with out first directly communicating with them. Since she had not actually talked with the Mirrian and he had not actually addressed her, there was no one she could pass her judgement.

Across the sky lightning flashed, showing her anger and discomfort. And really the last thing she needed was to set a whole group of trees on fire because she couldn't control herself. It had happened before only then it had only been a bush. She couldn't imagine what would happen if all these trees set fire.

While her mind fumed Trask spoke of how he would die if he didn't get out of the rain. Cursing her own foolishness she scooped him up. Instead of putting him in a pocket she held him in her arms, so her own body heat might keep him warm.
"I'm sorry I started this. I really should think about the things I do." She whispered as much to him as to herself, before chasing after whats-his-name. The Mirrian.

"I don't think you would usually help so foolish a group as us. That is not usually. But since you have been exiled it seems to me you want a little company. Even if it is made up of people you think are inferior." She paused for a moment before speaking up again. "So tell me, how close was my guess??"

Siymerleia dearly hoped she hadn't offended him. That was before she realized that not matter how unconscious it was, offence had been her intention. Biting her lip to keep herself silent until his responce, she walked on.

The katana was drawn, now.

Turning and pointing it at the woman that had just approached him, Valenarr's voice was calm yet angry.

"Listen, girl. I want no part of your arrogance, simply because you think that you are better does not mean you are instantly right." Valenarr's golden eyes fixed upon the girl.

"As far as helping, I have helped nothing. I have merely stated that your ignorance will get you all killed. Each and every one of you." The sword lowered a bit.

"However, if you are ignorant enough as to assume what I wish, you may find yourself dead on the ground before anything else kills you. You are no psychic, no mind reader nor seer. Act as if you have a mind with which to think, fool." Valenarr spat as he slammed his katana back into its plain, ebony sheath.

He turned, resuming his course to town. "Now go help your friend, and prove to me that you are not as incompetent as you seem. And, if you can actually keep her alive, I may find you worthwhile of my time..." Valenarr said rather harshly as his feet fell into muddy puddles along the way.

Siy worked hard to hold in a smirk. Either her guess was bang on, and that was a sensitive spot, or her guess was so far off it was insulting. Either way she couldn't help but feel triumphant that she had pushed him so far as to threaten her with a katana.

"You were rather firm in your offer of guiding us to the town. I would consider that a form of help, wouldn't you??" Siy would have stopped there, but her tongue kept going. Weaving words, to make the cloth that is a rant.

"As for my incompetence I think that testing our guide is quite useful. At least I now know somethings and am able to follow you with out worry." It was true. Now that Siy had seen his little outburst he didn't seem quite so dangerous. He had threatened with his katana but had attacked with his words. This alone said to her that while he was cruel with his tongue and did not use it sparingly, he would probably take a lot of abuse, verbal that is, before actually striking out.

Despite the rain, Siymerleia allowed herself a small smile. Even though it had been ages since she had actually travelled with people she hadn't lost her talents. She could easily push someones buttons untill they were ready to drop kick her off the planet, and she could learn many usefull things about the people who shouted at her.

Siy returned to Ash, only to find her passed out. "I can't do anything for that except bind it up..." Siy said unhappily. Her eyes stung as the Mirrians words came back to her. Incompetent and fool. Just because I can't heal doesn't mean I am useless. Reassuring herself Siy wanted nothing more then to get Valenarr struck by lightning. But The Sky was out of control and not listening any more. So she stood there. Helplessly.

Valenarr halted as she spoke. Just as his anger was about to boil over, just when he was about to either press his sword against her throat or simply slice her head off, she left.

"Damn..." He muttered. He could've used the outlet, as well. However, he shrugged, not really caring to leave himself out in the rain more than he had to. His hair was soaked, the leather beneath his chainmail was dripping, and his attitude was more than sour. He needed rest, and he needed to be left alone for what he was...

"The bloody Sun-lovers really have gotten stupid over the ages... I heard tales telling of how wise they are... I must tell someone to revise that last word to 'were'..." He said with a scowl, resuming his course. He did not like to be interrupted, and he had been interrupted twice.

Softly singing to herself, Fa'Atnae gathered binding vines to cut off the circulation, hopefully stopping the bleeding long enough for the herbs to take effect. The red, reedy vines quickly closed around Ash'rael's side, and it took several large sticks between the skin and the vines to make sure that they did not sever Ash's body in half. The vines, renewed by the rain, attempted to disobey her orders to not spread, but she solved that by cutting off any buds that began to grow, and the plant soon stopped trying. Well, she thought glancing around for a dry spot, I doubt I'll be able to boil water for the wound, so this will have to do. If only this cursed rain would let up...

Scowling, she glared at Valenarr as though to say, Fat lot of help you're giving, jerk. She felt about ready to bash him, and by his stance he felt the same way. She attempted to remember the way to Adei, but the trail was far off, and the marks she had left eroded. Cursing, she turned to her new friends, feeling almost too weary to chatter. It had been a long day, and it wasn't even noon yet. "I'll climb the tree to get an idea of where the city is. Make sure the vine doesn't expand, and change the herbs if they turn brown." Ignoring the silent protests of the tree she had singled out, Atnae began to carve shallow footholds in the fairly smooth bark.

It seemed as though she had been climbing for an hour, though she knew it was only half of that. She had reached the top, and was able to see the city, though it seemed farther away from the tree tops. She briefly wondered if it was a smart idea to climb trees in a thunder storm, but quickly stopped that train of thought. The trees were fairly young, the oldest ones were only 100, another reminder of the festival. She could just remember the story...

It was said the world ended, that day. The sky rained fire, the ocean seemed ready to wash over the mountains, and the trees simply withered away. When all had seemed lost, a married couple had come, bearing the knowledge to survive. Escail and Midra, if she wasn't mistaken. They had spread the word of the sun, and the ancient knowledge to rebuild the cities...

Strange, she thought. It never mentioned the races of the dark. I wonder how they could have missed something like a Mirrian. She mused about this in silence.

Breifly, Valenarr recalled the tale about how this world had came to an end. His had at the same time. His people lived in caverns, when the world, so long ago, was so overpopulated that some had to burrow beneath the earth and were eventually forgotten by most.

Then the cataclysm came. The sky's rain of fire, the whole deal that tales told of. His people were trapped beneath the earth, the cavern exits caved in by the seismic activity that the cataclysm caused. His people eventually got used to the dark and could eventually see heat in the darkness, as a method of compensation. Evolution took hold, and eventually, their skin turned black from being around darkness so long. Their eyes changed color as well, their heat vision in the dark turning to just perfect, normal vision in the dark. It was shortly after they learned how to mine their way out that they found their allergic reactions to the sun.

He recalled the tale about one Mirrian who found the most delicious looking leaves and berries, and after consuming them, he died. Sun-walkers at these berries and were fine. The sun had struck them down. The sun burned in their eyes, and with a hiss and much rejoicing by the sun-walkers, his kind had returned to the dank caverns, where they could eat bats, spiders, mushrooms and so forth in peace, and not have to worry about the cursed sun's tainting effects.

He knew he was walking towards town. He had been around this area for days, and he had mapped out the place mentally, as well. Hopefully, he could get inside someplace unnoticed, thusly avoiding whatever trouble a Mirrian's presence might cause. However, he hoped that the sight of his katana and scimitar would scare off any attempt to attack him.

The young Clohyrun watched Atnae climb out of sight. With a sigh she sat herself down on the ground. The mud tried to soak in to her pants but couldn't, considering they were already covered with mud. She tucked Trask in to the corner of her arm to better protect him from the elements.

"Trask..? Let me know when the herbs turn brown, okay??" It wasn't really a question, more of a statement, with a questioning 'okay' slapped on at the end to give the appearance of a choice. So with out waiting for him to answer she closed her eyes and began to push away the world around her. The water droplets clinging to her nose, the beat of rain on the ground, the mud surrounding her, Valenarr, Atnae, Ash'rael, everything was gone.

It was all replaced with a black void that she would use to create her own world. She was warm, and the ground underneath her was moist from a recent rain but dry enough to sit on. The Sky was blue, with only a few brave white clouds that dared to cast shadows on the surface of the planet. The sun was out, quickly drying all things soaked by the previous rain.
"Please??" Siy asked quietly. It appeared to her that the rain had lightened up, that the clouds had broken apart slightly. However she couldn't be sure. The rain wouldn't stop all at once, like how it began, it would have to slow itself down to a drizzle with Siymerleia persuading it, as best she could, to stop.

Smiling, Atnae turned her head to the sky, feeling treelike. She had a rough idea of where Adei was now, but if she could bond with the tree enough to search the extensive root system, she could be warned by the vibrations of any obstacles. Sighing happily, she snuggled into a crevace on the branch.

Ready? She asked the tree.

If ever, now. It replied.

Then she was the tree. The rain, soaking into her roots, felt cool and fresh. The vibrations near her roots told her where her friends were, and she could feel the underlying heart beat of the world. Strange, She thought. I thought the beat would be stronger... Is the world sick, or recovering?

Feeling ahead, she felt many little creatures, which was to be expected. But then... A large thud shook the ground near where the roots ended. Many smaller beats, hitting the ground in time. Stifling a gasp, the Dryad raced back to her body, hoping she could get down before the raiders struck.

Valenarr continued down the path, almost to the town. However, something caught his eye. A sword, held at someone's side. He did not draw his own, just yet.

Ducking behind a tree, he listened to the chatter. They sounded like bandits or raiders, some group of people that would most likely have no honor... Figured. 'Blast... I cannot handle this many on my own... Perhaps those fools can help.'

Sticking to the shadows, Valenarr arrived back at the group of folks that he had left behind before.

"I don't mean to startle you, but I think the nearby town may be aflame by the time you get moving, so I decided to double back and hurry you up." He said, his golden eyes shining through the shadows.

"Just thought you might want to know." He drew his katana but hurled it into the air, turning, drawing his scimitar, and caught his katana fluidly. "Now, shall we be off? I'd rather see you weaklings get slaughtered by raiders than by the cold and your own ignorance." He noticed the rain was slowing down. "But please, do hurry. I'd like to have them attacking someone else than I..." He started walking again, having ample anger to at least take out a quarter of this raider group.

He walked down his own path of footprints, wondering if the raiders had taken notice of him. He wondered what they'd do, and he wondered how much of a fight they'd put up... and how they'd react to a Mirrian.

"Oh Sun oh Sun oh Sun!" Atnae gasped as she hurried down the tree. She took every chance to slide down the bark, jump to a tree with branches further down, and she finally risked a freefall near the bottom. The Dryad landed in a bush, which complained about broken branches. "Sorry! I don't have any time!" She hastily apologized, just as she realized she was on the other side of the great tree. She ran around it and many other trees that seemed to be side to side, finally finding a way in.

"****!" She cried, in a manner most unlike her, as she nearly ran into a raider. Hearing her unwise cry, the raiders turned to face her. To the girl's horror, they bore the crest of the Solmi, a spiraling circle over two vertical lines. They wore thick, plated armor and were armed with iron swords that could easily slice her seed in half.

Then she saw the source of the loudest noise. A large, metal device, sputtering ash and smog, trampled through the forest, cutting chunks out of trees and uprooting plants, oblivious to their cries of pain. But she heard them. They hurt her ears, her mind, and she would have sworn she could feel what they did. Mind numb from the plant's pain, she did not notice the blade swinging down, blunt side, onto her head. It was something of a relief to lie down and sleep.

The commander signaled to his men, and they brought the girl onto the transport. Those who weren't mechanics moved forward as the shadows stirred. They had seen Valenarr moving, and were simply following orders. The soldiers drew their swords and advanced, taking care not to make noise and sticking to the shadows.

Valenarr had managed to spy this machine but get nowhere near it. He simply watched as they marched past, not paying a bit of attention to him as he lurk in the shadows, out of reach.

"What manner of magic is this? What manner of sorcery could conjure up a being such as that?" He demanded, wondering what on earth it was.

He looked as the raiders drew nearer to the town. "I must do something... But there are too many...."

He looked towards the creature. "Whatever may follow the strong... could follow someone else if persuaded." He had an idea. He'd get onto that large, metallic creature and convince it to aid them against the raiders...

...As soon as he devised a plan on how to get on it without being bashed by dozens of raiders.

Siy got jerked from her void when Valenarr started yelling. At first she believed that he was just yelling at her because he snapped. I could always listen to what he's saying. But if he is just yelling at me that would be such a waste of time. In the end she listend. In the very end she didn't like what she heard.

She jumped up, careful not to drop Trask as she did so. Atnae was lying down?? Why is she lying down. Raiders are attacking...Oh s**t. Understanding clicked in to place in her head. She quickly ran over to Valenarr, though still keeping one eye on Ash'Rael.

"What is that thing??" She gestured towards the metal device. "Wait no nevermind. It's not important. What do we do??" "And yes I said we." She thought to herself angrily, expecting him to make a face over her words.

"Really? I think your tongue slipped." Valenarr said to the woman beside him. "You will stay out of the way and not get yourself killed. I will find a way to persuade that large creature to destroy the raiders... hopefully."

He frowned, looking at her. "What? You expected otherwise? You're one of the last people I would trust to handle this group... Unless you could whip up a tornado or fissure to erupt beneath them and kill them all..." He scowled.

"Now, if you don't mind, go find a rock to hide under a tree to climb up in. Preferably out of the path of that creature... whatever it is. I'll handle things, since it seems like they're in my way." He turned towards the group of marching raiders, his golden eyes narrowing, gaining a hostile shine to them.

"And I destroy anything in my way." He said, grinning slightly. He held both Dyne and Ktonos... this would be quite an experience.

Atnae was lost in the world of dreams, lightly snoring on top of the soul-less machine, while her friends tried to think of how to defeat the men.

The detachment of soldiers continued to creep closer. They were close enough to see everyone in the odd company. The leader raised his hand, signaling that they should circle them and attack. The men silently obeyed, using every bush and tree to their advantage.

Siy began to laugh slightly. Valenarr was probably being sarcastic but a fissure and a tornado were along the lines of what she could do. "Sorry there's nothing I can do about a fissure, since it doesn't have to do with the sky. I might be able to get you a tornado depending on how I can sit on the ground. But one thing I can definatly give you is lightning..." Siy trailed off waiting for his responce.

She realized though that he might not believe her. Just to prove she wasn't joking lightning streaked down from the sky, dangerously close to Siy. It illuminated her eyes, defining the specks of silver, and looking for all the world like the sky on a clear summer night. For that moment her skin didn't shimmer, though it did seem to absorb the light. When the light faded she folded her arms. Her skin was back to it's regular shimmer, and her eyes were back to their regular black, with out the 'stars' as people reffered to the flecks of silver in a Clohyrun's eyes.
