If you're not looking for anything big or epic, my best suggestion is to pop into the OOC and see who's on, and just ask if anyone would like to go IC with you. There are plenty of people who tend to just wander aimlessly and enjoy new company from time to time.

What kind of RP are you looking to get into?

Sounds like you might want to look into setting up your own thread up if your planning for the store be a permanent establishment. Read over the thread creation guidelines here, [x] You should check some of the major threads like Latent to see which city/town you'd like to place the shop in. Even if you have a seperate thread for the shop, anything outside of the building or off it's property can be RP'ed in the appropriate threads, so you have no fear of it becoming self-contained. In fact, such threads are frowned upon and barred I believe.

If you come up with a thread proposal and and an outline of what you want to create, I'll run it by the council and get you started.

Gaia. You can walk into Barton and find three threads of medieval RP, four of modern setting but they take place in an old castle or mansion with little modern technology available, a dozen about bars like you'd find downtown, a couple future-tech mecha RPs, and something with no technology at all because it's just a haunted demon forest or something.

In Gaia, you find all types of things. In the Levi representation of Gaia, you find all types of things. It may not make the most sense that different parts of the world are on different tech levels than others, but it most accurately represents the mixture of myriad settings and cultures that we want to represent.

Welcome to Leviathan, a place where it's less important to make sense than it is to have a good time while doing it. We take roleplaying seriously, but even though we work hard we play even harder. And that's not coming from a man dressed completely in leather with a handlebar mustache and an inexplicably terrifying look in his eye.


I think it's not really that important for you to worry about everyone else's tech level in relation to yourself, as much as it is important to remain true to your character. As long as you have that, everything else will fall into place.

I've been telling myself for the last few days I'd get to reorganizing this, but so far I haven't done it. Anyways, here's the thread creation rules post. More or less the format is in the first post of any of the threads in the guild.

Just fill the sections as necessary. If it's just a building you probably don't need to fill in the flora and fauna sections and all that. The actual proposal part is as simple as making the thread description and PMing it to Maximos (as he's in charge of approving new threads).

I'm not exactly sure what our stance is on individual buildings. I think it's pretty lenient for people making 'home threads' for their characters. It's a lot harsher if you're trying to post a city just so that you can play make-believe and force everyone else to follow your dictatorial rules.

With most threads, as long as it's open to everyone, doesn't present immediate life-threatening danger upon arrival to anyone not controlled by a certain player, and seems original/different enough so that it's not just a clone of a thread we already have, then all should be good.

Building/home/business threads should probably stress more of the specifics on building layout and such, as opposed to cities which just need general things in that department.
