"I'm. . .sure it did. I am from Amberlin, somewhere rather far from here. What kind of place is this London of yours?" Promising herself to get him into proper clothes once they reach her brothel, she continues on, waiting for Drakian or that mother of his to show up.

Chestnut sat frozen before the creature for what felt like a life time staring into it's eyes completely paralyzed by fear. Lightning flashed breaking the spell. Chestnut found a reserve of strength and speed from some unknown source. He was up and tearing into the forest in almost the same moment. He ran blindly relying purely on an instinct he didn't know he possessed to navigate through the tangled wood. He moved quickly but not in a crashing clumsy way but lightly and quietly. Chestnut barreled out of the woods and onto a path right into a handsomely dressed lady. He tried to slow but it was to late. As light as he was he managed to go down into the mud on top of the woman.

Brian was terribly confused, how could someone not know London? "London well... everyone knows London. London is the capitol city of Gre--" just then an object rushed at the lovely lady his arm was attached to. Brian attempted to move and block Khorae from impact, he failed at his endeavour and ended up just toppling on top of her as he was dragged down. Now normally lying in the mud with an arm twisted in a way and a guitar stabbing his back was not something Brain enjoyed, however he was still quite fascinated by his teleportation and pressed up against a beautiful woman so it wasn't quite so bad. The object which had knocked himself and his companion over Brian had now determined was a man, and a particularly rude one. "Um, sir may I ask why we are all piled in the mud?" He asked not angrily as one might in such a situation but with a purely inquisitive tone.

Chestnut wuffed as the air was forcibly expelled from his lungs when the person walking with the lady landed on top of him. He wriggled out of the dog pile.... or perhaps it was a fox-pile he thought in his bewildered state. He was also vaguely thinking about how long it would take him to clean the mud out of his russet fur. He was a little more calm now. The persons before him he felt did not look likely to eat him as they lacked anything that registered as a threat. He looked over them curiously, his soggy ears swiveling forward with curiosity. He studied them both.... their form was like his... sort of. Their legs worked a little differently and they didn't have fur, muzzles, tails, or long ears. In fact they didn't look mixed with any sort of animal. He had fuzzy recollection that he was supposed to look closer to them.
He looked at the person who spoke to him, he could understand the words something he didn't dwell on, but miraculous all the same. " I'm sorry... I there was a thing in the forest. It was big and black, it had wings but not soft wings the other kind..... what are they called..... the things.... they fly.... um... BATS! Yes, it had bat wings.... and sharp teeth. It smelled like the thing that brought me here... but it was much bigger so I was afraid it would eat me, so I ran. And I ran into you both. I hope you aren't hurt," he said solicitously. " How come you aren't mixed with an animal? Is this still the ship or is it somewhere else? Did you see the purple thing?" he asked in a rambling sort of way. Chestnut's nerves were absolutely frayed and he was almost incoherent with adrenaline. He looked from the woman to the man and he got the feeling he ought to offer to help the lady up, so he did so, offering his furry hand complete with pads on the fingers and palms and claws.

With all the dignity she could muster, Khorae stood up from the mud using the help of both men and shook some of that mud off her cloak, inhaling and exhaling slowly twice to keep from shouting at the creature. "No, I am not hurt. That 'purple thing' you saw was a mini-dragon and I saw it once three years previous. As for not being part animal, I'm afraid you are the strange one of the three of us, but you should fit in just fine in the city. I have never had a tail, nor was I meant for one."

Khorae With all the dignity she could muster, Khorae stood up from the mud using the help of both men and shook some of that mud off her cloak, inhaling and exhaling slowly twice to keep from shouting at the creature. "No, I am not hurt. That 'purple thing' you saw was a mini-dragon and I saw it once three years previous. As for not being part animal, I'm afraid you are the strange one of the three of us, but you should fit in just fine in the city. I have never had a tail, nor was I meant for one." The muddy Chestnut's ears fell with chagrin. At least he had some of his questions answered. He now knew what he had seen was something called a mini-dragon and that this probably wasn't the ship anymore. He didn't know if he should be happy or sad about that. He wondered if Elix and Copper were all right and if whatever had done this to them was doing anything worse.
He had a feeling that a city could be a good place. He had a fleeting feeling of being happy there once although it probably wasn't the same city... or was it? Had the mini-dragon or whatever rescued him and returned him to where he came from? He might remember if he could just get to the city.
" Which way is the city?" he asked diffidently. He could tell the lady was angry from the way she stood and the way she looked at him. Chestnut was extremely good at reading emotion. He wanted to ask her if he could get some clothes there. One thing he did remember for certain was that people shouldn't run around naked..... his fur helped in full not quite so naked..... but he still felt it. He felt his face get hot. He tugged at the loose collar round his neck and he unconsciously swished his tail around front.

Khorae turned and point west of where they were standing. "About five hundred yards straight that way." Brian might have noticed that she was not heading that way at all when he'd walked with her.

Brian was not nearly so collected as Khorae seemed to be. He pulled himself out of the mud, glaring at the furry man. He wiped the mud off of his suit and though it came off easily more mud just slid into place. "Ugh, you ruined it" He shrugged off the guitar and hung it on a low branch. "Er, madame are you certain you are well?" Wincing brian reached behind himself and grasped the zipper on the back of his suit. The collar fell to the ground as the silver outfit lowered revealing a whole other outfit. It was composed of a white silk shirt with silver and purple sequins and metallic purple snakeskin pants. He wrinkled his nose in distaste at the creature that stood before him "Er, you can have this if you like, it might be a bit small though" he said holding the silver suit towards the fox man.

The fox-man looked west squinting through the rain when she pointed. He could vaguely see some light-pollution that confirmed her words. He wanted to go, but he was loath to leave these people. They didn't like him much, but there could be worse within the city. " Thank you," he said absently. He had the sinking suspicion the lady intended him to trot off right that instant. He was distracted from these musings by the man recovering his feet. Chestnut winced at the man's annoyance, but was more than pleased to be offered clothes.
Chestnut took the suit from the man. He could tell they were mad at him, but they seemed highly unlikely to eat him, he couldn't say the same for the thing he met in the woods. He examined it trying to figure out how one put it on first of all and second of all how he was going to fit his tail through.
" Thanks for the suit... and I am sorry about running into you and um ruining your clothes," he said with true remorse as he looked from one face to the other. He then realized he hadn't introduced himself. " I'm Chestnut," he announced as he was engaged in trying to get the suit over his digigrade legs. " Or at least that's what I call myself... What are your names?" He struggled on with the suit. He finally let out an exasperated breath and tied the limp finery around his trim waist (he had a figure that would make more than a few girls jealous). He looked from one to the other, wanting to stay with them and unsure how to accomplish that. He decided at last to approach the subject thus, " Do you live in the city?"

"I do. My name is Khorae." She paused and looked Chestunut over with calculating eyes. Hmm, perhaps this fox-like thing could be of use at a later time. "We were currently searching for an employess of mine. Perhaps you could join us."

Brian sighed and lifted the guitar. "I'm Lady ShimmerStar" he hesitated for a moment unsure if what he was about to say was true, he decided it wasn't but it really was the polite thing to do. "pleased to meet you" when Khorae invited the man Brian was thoroughly unhappy though his face showed it for just a second. "Yes... perhaps you could" He turned sharply towards Khorae swinging his guitar onto his back. "Have you any idea where this employee may be?"

"...Lady Shimmerstar?" She blinked up at Brian. He looked male enough to her, but perhaps he was a hermaphrodite, but then wouldn't he be called an 'it'? She'd know if he were female disguised as male, no question on that. "No, no I don't know where he is. That is why I am looking."

O.C.C. Been on Catilina for the week..... so back to posting.
Chestnut perked up immediately at the offer of going with them. The danger known was better than the danger unknown or did that saying have something to do with the devil you knew being better than... something. " I'd love to accomany you!"
He too looked more than a little suprised at the man's introduction. He looked at him quizzically, this was something different. Perhaps... perhaps he was from a place that used different names or something.... or maybe he was some sort of weird alien. Chestnut almost regretted his quick agreement about accompanying them. But then again they hadn't tried to eat him yet, nor did they seem likely to start.

Quote: Drakian smiled, sadly, almost pityingly. "Well that'll be a little bit difficult, but for now, let's just focused on getting dry..." Meanwhile he was carrying on a conversation of a different nature. Are you sure you can't take her home straight off, I can tell already she's not going to take the 'Yeah you're in a world of magical beasts far far away from everything and everyone you know and love, but don't worry this happens all the time and when the mages have the time to spare, you might even get to go home somewhere near the time you left.' I'd love to Drake, but she's not the only one, I've already felt several distortions, and one of which I'm really not happy to look into... a couple now actually... Why don't you take her back to town, I can meet up with Ermak on my own. Tanya responded, her telepathic voice betraying the unease her exterior never showed. "Well Kiddles, it's been fun, but I have somewhere to go and it will be even further out in the rain. I imagine from Drake's moaning that you are likely wanting to just go back to town. I'll catch up later." With an exaggerated wink, the woman was off, walking down the muddied path with a seemingly careless gait. "Well... the town isn't far that way..." Drakian said pointing back, though watching the woman disappear around another turn of the greenery. "She's probably not a wise choice to try following, and is going to have her hands full without the need to escort us anywhere, however, I know this area intimately, and I can set you up with free lodging for the night, with the assurance that you will not be unduly bothered." OOC: Tanya is not going to allow any argument to ditching the two of them. Drakian is getting worried because he knows something is up when Tanya needs to go off on her own. Bad for Britta, I get the impression she's not going to like the mad house that is Parte, but the rain is becoming colder and harder rapidly. A voice cheerfully interrupted Ermak's steady voyage. Hey Ermy what're you doing back in my neck of the woods? I notice you've met some fangirls, I'm heading over to where you're at, been noticing a number of distortions tonight, scaly me must be working overtime. To anyone powerful enough to pick up this telepathic sending, it seemed a casual mind-chat. Ermak however knew Tanya was generally unwilling to open mental communications with anyone unless absolutely necessary. Britta blinked as Tanya took off. "Hey, where--never mind." She looked back at Drakian with some slight suspicion. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but...you said some mages could send me back?"

"Er, yeah, they should be, there's forms and stuff to be filled and you have to go to the capital to file them, but I'm sure things will work out." Drakian said in what was a too-optomistic tone. In the end, most off worlders never acheived the opportunity to get back, whether from meeting an untimely end in the belly of a beast or simply losing patience with all the paper work to end up eking a living off of the world of Matri, most were there to stay. "There's probably going to be a group of offworlders like you gathering around these parts at least by morning, someone will probably end up escorting them to the capital. If it weren't for work I'd probably be doing it myself, there's sometimes a hefty reward for assisting offworlders."
OOC: I'm guessing a not-so-subtle hint about a character originating in a certain other rp cropping up that I should go post there.... sweatdrop
