Techie all the way, yo. Our class is mostly guys (there are two girls and I'm one of them- the other doesn;t do anything). We had three girls on crew for the last show I worked (me, assisting lights, stage manager, and floor crew). All the tech guys on the last show bought us flowers =) Awwww, how sweet.
I'm a little scraed of power tools sometimes, in all honesty. But I use 'em and get the job done. My tech theatre lieks me anyway because he teaches at my old middle school and I stage managed for him XD

Our set crew for our shows is usually all guys. But our technical director is a girl. Even though it's mainly guys building the sets, the actors/actresses in the show have to have a minimum of 2 hours set time. And...Whenever we strike set it seems to be the girls doing all of the work and our guys are doing tap moves on stage. (That's how it was when we struck set after 'Lost in Yonkers' last night.) I dabble in techie stuff and acting.
