Kiba gave Hinatas hand a squeeze as he led her through the forest. "I don't really have my own place. I crash at Shikamaru's a lot so don't worry." He gave her a small smile, still carefully not to expose his fangs. "He's a good guy once you get to know him, if a little weird. Trust me, okay?"
Shikamaru followed behind them silently. He says I'm weird? he thought as he looked at the feral boy. I wonder how those two ever became friends, unless his personality changed when he was turned.

Hinata nodded, glad for being with Kiba again. "O-of course, Kiba-kun. I can always trust you." She smiled slightly. "You've never lied to me before."

Kiba felt a stab of guilt at her words. While he hadn't told a lie, yet, he was hiding what he was and could be considered lying. I'll tell her after I explain everything. I just don't want to see the look of terror on her face when she looks at me. He stopped walking when they reached the enormous tree. "Well this is it, home. I know it doesn't look like much from out here, but it's nice inside."
He called my house his home again. Shikamaru thought with a sigh. While he wasn't too comfortable with letting a human and potential threat see his resting place, he still went to the door. He stood beside a large rock against the tree and pulled out a blood red crystal around his neck. He slid the crystal into the hole, turned it, then pulled it back out and put it back under his shirt. A moment later the rock slid to the side, revealing a set of stairs that led down into the darkness. While he and Kiba could see perfectly well in the dark, Hinata could not. "Wait here, I'll light some candles." He desended the stairs, lighting a lamp on the wall and more in each of the rooms when he got to the main part. "Alright, c'mon down!"

Hinata followed Kiba as he led her down the stairs. As they got farther away from the opening she moved closer to her long time friend. Despite the candles it was still fairly dark and she wondered how Kiba could see with tripping. She knew the only reason she hadn't fallen yet was because of Kiba's hand. As she thought about why she wasn't tripping she took notice of his head. Kiba-kun's hand is clamy...Is he sick? Oh, I swear this boy can never take care of himself! "How did you manage to get sick, Kiba-kun?"

"Well in that case, I shall help you." And any others I find on the way. Shino turned and said follow me as he started moving throught the forst. He thought he sensed Kiba and Shikamaru close. Maybe they can help.

"Thank you. Vampire-san." He said with a bow as he followed the hidden teen. He watched closely as the vampire moved, trying to set a pattren to it so he would know if something was about to happen.

"Why, do I look sick?" he said with a frown. "I'm fine, Hinata, though I am a bit nervous. It's been awhile since we last saw each other." I probably do look sick though. I'm certainly more pale than when I was human and I'm not as warm but I'm not cold either. Can she sense something...wrong about me? He led her into the living room and sat down on the couch, patting the seat beside him.
Shikamarus house look like any 'normal' persons on the inside, though it was more like a castle. The walls and floors were made of gray stone and the furniture was from the same time period as when Kings ruled. The chairs and couches were overly large yet very comfortable and thick fur carpets covered the floors. His bed was king sized and the headboard was completely hand carved, depicting some deer in a field.
Kiba, you better tell her soon or she'll notice herself. Shikamaru thought as he watched the boy from where he stood beside the entry door. He turned and locked it and pocketed the key. At least I can make sure she can't leave being afraid of him. He then went into the small kitchen and pulled a blood pack out and filled a glass. Having a human so close was pushing his control to the edge. While the stale, cold blood didn't satisfy like warm fresh blood, it was enough to sate him for the time being.

Hinata sat down and turned to face Kiba, trying her best to keep Shikamaru in her sight. "Ok, now tell me, why haven't you been back home in five years. You had me worried sick and you mom and sister were so upset!"

"When I first came here, for whatever reason I can no longer remember, I was attacked within the first hour. I was hurt pretty bad and would have bled to death if Shikamaru hadn't of come along and saved me. He tried his best to nurse me back to health but I'd lost too much blood." Kiba looked away from Hinata, looking instead at his hands. "In the end, he had to turn me to save me. I know you're probably scared but I promise you that I'm the same person who I was when I was still in the village...I just need blood to live."

Hinata stared at Kiba and back away slightly. "K-kiba...-kun?" She laughed slightly. "V-very funny, Kiba-kun." She laughed again. "That's a ni-nice joke. Getting b-back at me. V-very funny."

He looked at her and wished he hadn't when he saw the fear growing in her eyes. "I wish it was a joke, but it's not. I am a vampire." He had tried to take her hand to give it a reassuring squeeze but pulled back when she flinched. "Please, don't look at me like that...like everyone else does. Do you know how much it hurt to see that same look in my mother and sisters eyes?" He got up and began to pace. "I did go back a few nights after being turned to see them...and they were terrified of me and wouldn't recognize me anymore. I'm dead to them...as I probably am to you now." Kiba didn't realize that he was crying until one of the tears his his hand.

Hinata shivered slightly and stood up. She solwly walked over and hugged Kiba. "I-I'm sorry Kiba...Look at me..." She pulled him around to face and smiled slightly. "D-don't worry about it Kiba. I'll...I can deal w-with it." she whipped his cheeks and smiled. "W-what are friends for...if n-not to be there?"

Shikamaru went into his room and closed the door down, but not shut, to give the other two some privacy. That's the first time I've seen him cry since I turned him. I didn't realize he was holding in so much pain...he never said anything.
Kiba broke down and slowly sunk to his knees, letting himself cry like he'd been wanting to for the past five years. He wrapped his arms around Hinata hoping that she'd truly come to accept him in time, sobbing into her clothes and his body shaking from it.

Hinata hugged her frined and started to rock back and forth. "Shhhh...." He's still Kiba-kun. He's still my friend. She kissed his cheek. "Don't worry, K-kiba-kun. You're still my friend. You'll always be my friend."

Shikamaru groaned a bit as a pain shot through his veins. I'm still hungry, that blood was too weak. I need fresh blood...and there's a source right outside my door, locked in my house. His fingers dug into the wooden foot board of his bed as he held himself back. "I can't...she's his friend." But he could smell her and hear her heart beating and it was slowly wearing away his restraint.
Kibas head jerked up when he heard Shikamaru groan and then he felt the others need. "Sh-s**t." he quickly jumped to his feet and took Hinata by the hand. "I need you to stay in here and lock this door." He said as he brought her into another room filled with cushions. "This is where I sleep when I stay here. Lock the door and don't open it until I say it's alright, okay?"
