User Image Jamie turned, looking from the napkin, to Ian, back to the napkin, then Ian again. He smiled, then laughed a little. "What was that for?" Not really interested so much as it had been his whole intention to make Ian lose his cool. He slid one hand into his pocket and leaned against the doorway, eyeing Ian with a significant amount of the sex appeal he was able to muster, knowing precisely how to get to the other man, so much that it had become an art form in and of itself.

User ImageIan felt himself snap. Jamie was playing with him again. He was having fun at his own expense. Ian growled. "What do you mean "what was that for"?! You're just playing with me! Go away! Weren't you going to find out what the next mission was about?!"

User Image Jamie outright laughed. "Yeah, I think I was." He gave Ian one last, fleeting, teasing smile and left the room, standing in the foyer, this time actually mildly interested in the new people and what they were on about. That, and he knew Ian was going to flip out over the callous leaving, and the mental image that brought to mind made him laugh silently to himself. Somewhere in there laid an intention to ask Kyrin about the mission, or maybe Nori. Nori didn't look like he was up to much of anything, so he walked around the new people and stood next to the boy, smiling kindly in greeting.

User ImageTristan looked at the crowd with growing annoyance. What a nosy group of people.

"Could we possibly discuss this in private?" He asked Kyrin leaning in closer also and taking her outstretched hand to shake slowly. He could feel the stares and glares of the many people on his leather back and hear their whisperings. Already he felt like this place was a lost cause. Please let them accept me... he thought again, earnestly.

At Tristan's request, Jaydn almost immediately interjected, coolly saying, "I'm sure whatever it is you have to discuss can be shared with us." He stepped up to bring himself closer to the pair.

Jaydn couldn't bring himself to trust the man. In all actuality, the man was still a stranger and had yet to do anything or show any type of proof that he could be trusted. For all we know, he's bitter about us not throwing a pity party for him when his mom got wiped off the face of the earth or pissed that her dad won't take him in. The last thing Jaydn wanted was to let his cousin walk into a room by herself with a stranger who could quite possibly kill her as soon as the door was shut. It wasn't that he didn't have faith in Kyrin's ability to defend herself. He just didn't want to have to deal with the guilt if it so happened that she couldn't.

Kyrin shook Tristan's hand gently, her small hands soft in his. When Jaydn spoke, Kyrin had let go of Tristan's hand to respond to his request. She shot Jaydn a look, Being childish again? She didn't however object to her cousin's interest, as she too thought that Tristan might still be a little bitter about Han's rejection. With her eyes still on Jaydn, she said, "If it upsets you that much, cousin, then you can accompany us to the meeting room." Even though her tone was that of slight irritation, her eyes almost betrayed her as her expression may have seemed pleading to Jaydn.

Turning her attention back to Tristan, Kyrin said, "We'll go to the meeting room." Kyrin knew that the man didn't know where it was, but she felt comfortable enough to bring him there, as it was only a short walk down a hall. Ky excused herself from her group, explaining briefly that she would be back in a short while to discuss with them further detail of their mission, but she did not elaborate more then that in the presence of Tristan. Kyrin led the stranger down a short, well lit hall that ended in a spilt, she took him to the left and in a dark wooden door. The inside of the room was dim at the time and Kyrin pushed the lights to full. A large table took up most of the room, while a good number of chairs outlined it. It was a new addition to Kyrin's house, she had 'borrowed' it a week or so before, from one of the funiture stores in the upper town. "There, now why did my father deny you?"

Jaydn nodded to Kyrin and followed behind the pair, his mind racing with thoughts. Stupid. Because the stranger needs to know that I'm your cousin. Why don't we just let the whole world know now and while we're at it, let's tell them I'm the secret heir to the Lower City Mafia. Damn Kyrin, she's trying to get me killed. Sometimes, Jaydn wasn't sure if Kyrin had a good head on her shoulders with how hasty she would make decisions.

After entering the meeting room, Jaydn closed the door after him, resting his back against it. He listened in as Kyrin asked the question that was in his own head. For now, he would let them talk it out, he would just be an observer. Unless, of course, he needed to step in.

User ImageTristan followed Kyrin and her suspicious cousin down the hall to the meeting room.

"Your house is very nice. I like the furniture." A little sucking up never hurt anyone. He took a seat near Kyrin and was somewhat relieved when her cousin kept his distance. The man made him uneasy. He took a steadying breath and started talking.

"Your father told me in his interview this morning that he did not want me for two reasons. He said that while my mother was a reliable source and very loyal, two valuable attributes in the mafia trade, she was also a bit reckless. She partied often, drank, did drugs, and smoked. I am a product of her partying so I won't deny what he said, even if it upsets me. He was worried that I may have inherited some of these undesirable traits." Tristan clamped his hand on the edge of the table. One thing he disliked more than anything was people who questioned his values and integrity. "I tried to dissuade him but your father is stubborn." He smiled a little. "I was hoping you would be different. I assure you I am not the kind of person my mother was. At least in a bad way." He leaned on the table with one arm. "He wouldn't tell me the second reason..." Tristan was never outwardly emotional. Talking about his mother made him angry at everything and angry at Kyrin's father for refusing him because of his mother. But he controlled his anger as his mother had taught him and looked at Kyrin expectantly.

Coming down from her tiptoes, Fiore relaxed her shoulders as she watched the backs of two boys and Kryin walk away. It was strange to be inside of this place without trespassing. She had become a part of it for now. In the corner of her good eye, she spotted the security alarm that she had once cracked, and looking at it now, she laughed at herself for being so stupid. It was obvious that it was a fake, but she couldn't expect less from Felix.

She continued to scan the place, noting the way everything looked as though taking a picture. But Fiore was the kind of girl who would never lose those pictures. She scratched the back of her neck, Why am I sweating?
She wasn't sure why. She didn't feel nervous. Maybe just exhilarated.

As Kyrin, Jaydn, and Tristan left for the meeting room, Nori felt a bit disappointed that he wasn't getting the info he wanted, but he figured that maybe Kyrin had a good reason for it. As it was, he felt that there seemed to be too many secrets floating around between the mafia comrades. It was a weak support that he hoped wouldn't make the mafia collapse on itself.
When Jamie approached, his distractions were washed away. Nori smiled back and pulled his hair timidly. Although he was wearing Izzy's dress, he hadn't bothered to put his hair up, so he ruffled the shaggy style with his fingers while looking away. The other housemates were also left unoccupied while Kyrin left, but Jamie had chosen to come up to Nori. He didn't know what to think about that, but he realized that he felt self-conscious again.

Fiore looked towards the others in the room. Fiore wasn't exactly a social person, as a matter of fact, she found it difficult. It wasn't that she couldn't, it was that she had been brought up to not let other people into her life. She was supposed to have her own life, and that is how she would be strong. But she wanted to try...m-maybe...this will help me get stronger...

Fiore walked over to Nori, another who was a good deal taller than herself. She didn't make contact, but she bowed her head slightly to try and cover up her sweating.
"Ah...I-I'm Fiore."
What is this?...I probably look so stupid...

At his comment about her house and furniture, Kyrin nodded in thanks, she could tell he was sucking up, but she made no move to show it. I bet he assured my father that he wasn’t like his mother too. Kyrin thought as she sat herself in the seat she had been standing by. She rested one arm lazily on the side of the chair and brought the other up to play with the butterfly pendent about her neck. Kyrin mulled over Tristan’s words. I wonder what Father is up to…first he sends me on a mission, and then he denies an Avalon? Kyrin seemed to catch on to the suspicion that Tristan seemed to hold against Jaydn, but it was interesting to her that it seemed to be the same suspicion Jaydn was showing towards Tristan.

I wonder… Kyrin figured that Tristan had given all the information he knew about why her father wouldn’t accept him, but she was still curious, What’s that second reason? She tried to sort though all of the things that it could be, but found none to be stable enough. I could put him on probation, set Jaydn to watch him… She looked at her cousin, But he wouldn’t do that, She thought, No… he’s too ‘good’ for that. Even in her head she couldn’t keep the sarcasm from the last thought.

Kyrin beckoned to her cousin to come over to her, she wanted his opinion.

Nori's mind was folding over different ways to start a decent conversation with Jamie, when he heard a shy voice introduce itself. Turning to see Fiore, he debated mentally whether he should curtsy or not, but decided a slight bow would do. "I'm Nori Blauvelt. Nice to meet you, Fiore. That's a nice name." He added thoughtfully. Whenever someone had an unusual name, he would comment that it was nice, even if he didn't particularly think so. It was a gesture to make someone with a different trait feel welcome around him. But in this case, he really did like saying her name.
"Welcome to our mob Fiore. We may seem unfamiliar, but hopefully our entire circuit will be like family." He nodded assuringly, even though he didn't know if it would be true.

Jaydn stood silently, listening to what the two said, his own thoughts filling in the moments he would have spoken. When Tristan offered Kyrin what Jaydn saw immediately as insincere flattery, Jaydn held back a scoff. Near everyone knows this place isnt anywhere as nice as he's making it out to be.

When Tristen offered one of the reason why Han wouldn't take him under his wing, Jaydn understood Han's decision. He would be wary about taking Tristan into the Coyotes. After Tristan said I assure you I am not the kind of person my mother was. Jaydn automatically asked in his mind, Then what kind of person are you?

Seeing Kyrin gesture to him, Jaydn tilted his head to his cousin, showing that he was listening and asked her in Japanese,
"What do you want?"

"Like...a family?"
The word family had a different impact on Fiore than most people. She thought of her father, the only family she had, and that wasn't exactly a pleasant thought to think about, the way he treated her and taught her wouldn't be a good thought for anyone, and especially not someone. Her dark eyebrows tilted a bit as though the word brought anger with it. Realizing what she was doing, she turned back, looking up to Nori with a forced smile.
"Ah...um...I'm glad to meet you, Nori."
