Rui wasn't the kind of idiot to just stand there wile a spector shot at her, that was obvious enough. She dashed to the side as the shockwave ripped up the verry ground beneth her feet. As impressive a display as this was the ax was a slow weapon and he would need time to recover from the backlash of such a strike. Or so she hoped.

Just to piss him off she continued to run, twards him from the side. Knowing him to be a ghost she hoped that because she was solid and the dash would come out of nowhere she would run right through him. Now that would be something to see.

Being not of this physical world, the forces that tied humans and other creatures to the world had no effect on him; ties such as gravity and weight. Thinking ahead, he knew she would dodge the blast—you'd have to be a complete idiot not to. Village inhabitants ran screaming as the shockwave continued on, tearing apart huts and other buildings before dying down, leaving a great scar in the earth. In the meantime, however, Howard hurled his axe at the girl. Strange thing about wraiths, the way they interacted with the physical things around them. His axe could cleave a boulder in two with little to no effort, but if a human tried to grasp it, it would merely phase through their hands. The axe spun through the air horizontally, looking much like a flying sawblade waiting to split something—or in this case, someone—in half.

Rui saw the blade hurling streight for her, sadly she didn't get to run through the ghost just to tick him off. She had to doge the blade, she took a dive to the left just before the blade hit her, and it made a sickining thud as it hit a tree with tremendious force and the tip poked out the back of it in a terrifieing way.

"Now whatever did I do to you?"

She asked in the most innocent way, she made hearts bleed to do her bidding, this addorable jewl of a kert, for less than this face. It was ever so innocent and helpless looking, but anyone who knew anything about her knew that a fire danced behind that helpless and beautiful face that would drive you mad some day if you wherent careful.

The axe disappeared from the tree and was in Howard's hand again. "You're here. In my way." He hadn't moved from his spot this whole time, and the creature had done was dodge. It was nimble to say the least. His eyes narrowed, then Howard disappeared into the earth beneath him. Moving through as though it weren't even there, he planned his next move. His next move was simple enough. Coming up behind her, axe at the ready, he hefted it up and brought the blade straight down above her incredibly fast, for such a large weapon. He seemed to...get a kick out of cutting things in half.

Rui finaly let out a gasp of suprise, now that he was in the ground she had no clue where he could be. She did a full three sixty looking for him, and when he was nowhere to be found she took several tentitive steps backwards in fear. Apparently just in time too since a cold sensation flustered her and an ax came down in front of her face.

With a gasp she relized that that the ghost had appeared behind her and attempted to slice her in half, she had just stepped right through him to avoid his own ax slice. Now that was a chilling thaught. She took a few more steps backwards so his back was to her, she had gone right through him. She took the opertunity to attempt to strike him, she would probably phase right through him but it was worth a shot and that shot may as well count. She braught her leg up hard, right where the sun don't shine. If he where alive this would hirt, a LOT.

An admirable attempt on the girl's part. Before she could blink, Howard did a one-eighty so he was face to face with her. It was if he just shifted, rather than actually move. He said nothing at her attempt to kick him in the groin, the greatest weak spot of most living men. All he did was smirk. Howard never smirked. Grabbing her leg with both hands at the end of its swing, he lifted her off the ground, spun her around, and heaved her away with the force of a train. "Bothersome fly." Howard grumbled.

Rui wasn't too shocked to discover that she just phased through him, after all he was just a spectral form. The fact that he made his hands solid so he could grab her leg shocked her. She bent over so her knee was as close to her face as possible and grabbed onto his hand with her own clawed one, thankfuly it was solid... Sadly it was also moving. Rui was spun around once, her claws digging into the ghost's solid hand as she held on. When he let go she held tried to hold on, not sure how long it would remain solid she tried to pull herself closer so she could get her muzzle close enough to bite him. Hopefuly his hand wouldn't become spectral in time to fling her across the place anyways.

Howard was surprised, to say the least, that the kert girl was more agile than he had given her credit for. He had also overlooked the fact that, without really thinking about it, he had endowed her with his capabilities, at least as long as he had a hold on her, so her claws digging into his wrist was a rather unpleasant experience. Releasing his grip on her ankle, halting his attempted throw, the effect disappeared before she could get a bite on him, and he stepped backward a few steps, practically gliding across the dirt. "Hmph...a slight err on my part." He said as he narrowed his eyes. The clawing hadn't left any mark—being a wraith, his ethereal form was permanently set to the way he looked upon resurrection—but that doesn't mean it hadn't hurt at all. Howard made a note to make sure no mistakes like that happened again.

Rui was flung across the forest, but not with as much force because she had held on for such a short time longer. Fortune smiled on her as she didn't hit anything, more or less inertia just stopped and she was granted with little more than grass-burns from the forest floor. She stood up, brushing the underbrush out of her fur coat. Even if she could fight she was still a proper woman.

"Can you just leave?"

She said in a threatening way. Honesltly she ususaly didn't fight with people but the fact that he was interfearing with her hunting was pissing her off. She had to make a living somehow... just because he wasn't living didn't mean he had to make those who where pay for it.

Howard's axe appeared in his hand again, since he had sent it away in order to try and throw the girl. "Not until I finish what I came to do. Only then will I leave satisfied." He said in a hollow, malicious voice that rang with hate. "And I'll kill anyone who gets in my way." He pointed the head of the axe at Rui with his statement. "Innocent or not."

Rui put her hands on her hips again, standing once again to defy what the ghost had to say. He was starting to sound like a stupid broken record, 'kill kill kill' what kind of stupid did someone have to be to bring this jurk off back?

"I never said that I wanted you to leave satisfied.... Just leave."

She said, once more in that persuasive verry female voice that men usualy jumped to obay. She tilted her head in the most adorable way, that made the beads in her hair jingle together in a rythmic way that only added to the spell-like quality in her voice.

This girl was a pest. She absolutely refused to roll over and die. An admirable quality, to say the least. Howard may be a heartless b*****d in death, but he knew when to recognize a worthy adversary. Although, what confused him was was that all she had been doing was dodging, never attacking. Snuffing, Howard lifted his axe and thudded the base of its pole into the dirt. "Fine. Answer me a question." His empty eyes flared with pale light. "Where is the one called Stine?"

Rui raised her hands up comboed with a sholder shrug. This action preluded to her already obvious statement. She was a nutral, why the hell should she keep track of a hero's life? Or judging by the state of this person, death.

"To hell if I know. Judging by the way you look she could have died from old age by now!"

She really didn't care what he had to say, he could swing at her all day for all she cared. Because he wasn't solid she could manuver through him and he could never corner her. Asside from that the local village was starting to gather, probably for her side concidering what state he had put their elder in.

Howard scowled as he got the answer he didn't want. He paid no attention to the gathering crowd; just wastes of flesh as far as he was concerned. "Stine, the weregazelle and leader of the heroes in the war, is very much alive. However, she won't be for much longer as soon as I find her." Gripping his axe tightly, it vanished, to be called upon later. "Why are mortals so useless?" He said to himself as he turned around and began walking away, the air in front of him rippling as he walked through it. The air returned to its natural state as Howard completely disappeared, venturing into a warped and skewed parallel of Blize. The Spectral Plane; the temporary home of wandering souls until Death came to claim them. Death was a very busy guy, so there had to be someplace for the dead to go until he got around to them rather than them walking the world of the living in the meantime. That wouldn't be good for business.

Fino-freeking-ly! Took that ghost long enough to get the hell out of here. To hell with what he thaught of mortals and whatever the hell he was going to do to that poor stine person. She really didn't care, She was here to make money!

"Good ridence to bad rubish..."

She called after his fadeing form. She had work to do, and for the moment that work involved catching some creatures to be trained. Rui stalked off down the town, headed for the forest to do her job.
