Leikkun

And even knowing that, he couldn’t help but notice T’bell through the crowd as he sauntered towards his peers, eyebrows lifting and a rather wolfish smile coming on to his face. So he couldn’t even really resist whistling, either, low and suggestive, eyes following the ‘rider. Subtlety was for prudes.

T'bell heard the whistle, but paid it no heed. He was more interested in the conversations he was listening to and had no idea of the motivation behind it.

Zephyr's head came up on the greenrider's shoulder and tracked the whistle to its source, eyes settling on the figure of E'sar as he emulated the whistle.

T'bell paused and turned to his flitt, rubbing the blue's cheek as he followed his gaze with a friendly smile. "Oh, was that you? He copies things." He smiled at E'sar, clueless. "You're one of the newly Impressed. How do you feel?" The flitt turned his eyes to watch him as well, seeming more like a moving shoulder decoration than the flighty things of many colours darting above.

R'ven loved a good hatching. The senior weyrling was in his element, sweeping through the crowd with a nod and a wink for every group he passed, a nearly empty glass of wine in one hand. Noting the state of his cup, he changed direction to wander back towards the wine table, swiping a second with a nod for the vinter--an old friend of his, he realized after a beat, and offered a smile accordingly--then set about exploring the Gather once more for a familiar face, swaying lazily in time with the music with each step forward.

It was Saer's turn to blink in disbelief. "Any excuse for a celebration? And that gets tiresome? My, I could never find that tiresome in the least. I suppose it's because I'm not used to it all just yet. Just watch, now that I've said that, I'll realize exactly what you meant, and I'll become incredibly bored. Wouldn't surprise me in the least." Chuckling, the girl reached up to brush a few unruly locks of hair that curled about her eyes, having somehow come loose from her ponytail.

"Indeed, the Hatching was amazing. Though, I could be partially biased." Without thinking, the girl gently reached out her mind, feeling the comforting, though drowsy, presense of Daranth, snoozing peacefully. "I'm still shell-shocked over it all, to be honest. It's almost too much to believe."

Imirin entered the hatching festivities with his mind on one thing and one thing only.

Then something bit his ear and his list grew to two things.

He swatted at the bronze flitt on his shoulder, earning nips to his fingertips as he did so, and muttered some incredibly creative suggestions as to where the flitt could go and what he could do while there. Bait simply cling to the trader's wrapped braid and observed the people around him.

Imirin made a straight line for the food. Before Bait could even squeak he made sure to nearly shove a meatroll in the flitts mouth and then unceremoniously dumped him from his shoulder. For his part the bronze flitt was used to such things and snapped out his wings, soaring up with his prize to the safety a higher perch would offer.

With his burden gone the trader visibly relaxed and snagged himself a variety of snacks and a bit of good wine.

"I'm not very fond of crowds," he admitted, grimacing faintly as he glanced around the gathered group. "But to each his own. Plenty of the riders enjoy the Gathers, which is probably why we continue to have them." He shook his head, eyes wandering the area before resettling on the young brownrider. K'rel smiled.

"I can't think of anyone here who would disagree with you, save perhaps for the few who failed to Impress, though I daresay they're probably good and drunk and enjoying themselves by this point. A Hatching is a celebration for everyone." Again his thoughts wandered back to his own Impression, and he sighed fondly at the memory. "That never really changes. I've had my Siventh for turns now, and I still can't believe he chose me."

"Crowds are, for many, an aquired taste. I think the only reason I feel fairly comfortable is because I can meet many new people. Which is probably why I was rather comfortable in the healercraft as well." The last was added on as an afterthought, accompanied by a soft laugh. A bit of a thoughtful look crossed her features, before the inevitable question was mused over.

"You know, I wonder what it was that made Daranth choose me above all others. Other than the fact that I nearly wandered off without seeing his beauty." Well, it wasn't entirely something to be proud of, but was certainly an interesting story she'd be able to tell later on with amusement.

"An acquired taste that never settles for many," he agreed, then grabbed hold of the new subject, rather than delve further into just how uncomfortable Gathers made him. "You were a Healer prior to being Searched?"

He paused briefly, mulling over the question, but finally settled for a slight shrug. "I doubt anyone will ever understand just why a dragonet picks who he does. I didn't Impress until my third Hatching, but looking back I wouldn't change it. The dragons always know. Clearly you were meant for Daranth."

R'ael was amoung those few who were still not entirely comfortable in the bustle of a gathering, but time and his first battle with Thread had given him a edge more certainty, that and the somewhat peculiar feeling of being one of the people who had, in some sence, become settled here, at the Weyr. He wasn't so much the odd one out now, he and Jaereth, now there were new faces in the cround with the excited and faintly lost look he'd had then.
He was partially looking for Khalin, hoping to spot him in the crouds.
No it was "K'hin" Now....wasn't it? K'hin must be walking on air, though it would take some time to get used to calling him that.

Jarest...or J'est as 'Corinth' had so quickly shortened his name to despite a handful of attempts to correct him... Moved along the fringes...he was still in shock that he... had impressed a dragon... He'd grinned and shaken hands but it all still seemed surreal. The dragon had in fact been 'torn' between him and another boy... he wondered how that young man felt... and hoped he didn't feel that he (j'est) had robbed him of a Dragon in the end.
He almost wanted to go back to the Weyr... He wanted to run his hands over the leathery hide one more time to assure himself the old dream of flight was in fact within his grasp.

R'ael pulled up short with a startled sound as, in his distraction, he almost walked into one of the new Weyrlings. His flit, Rikk, hissed and flared his wings, springing to the air and fluttering above their heads as R'ael blinked sharply, snapping into attention from his wandering attention.
"Oop! Sorry about that. Wasn't looking where I was going..." He appologized, offering an warm, lopsided grin.

He pulled up just short of the older Weyr-rider with a blink. The near head on colision drew him sharply out of his state of distraction.
"S...Sorry Sir...didn't mean to..." he stuttered out.

A soft chirp wandered up from his flit, a warning before the little green suddenly took flight. OOoh dear, this couldn't be good. K'hin tilted his head up, spinning in a circle trying to keep the little monster-as he fondly called her durning these time- in sight. Why was she circling.

Sonia paused in in her hoovering before steadly making her way towards the left and he followed. Nothing more that he could do. He could not fly and yelling no bad girl sounded redundant and embarssing. The little green fluttered down lower circling a other flit. A bronze, Rikk?

Had to be. Rikk was the only flit she showned any affection for let alone reconginzed by name. Say the flit name and her little head would perk up and she glance around before snorting at him. Which met that was R'ael!

He walked closer and paused. R'ael and a other boy that looked vaguely familar. Ooh yes. He had impressed a bronze from the hatching but Kahlin had failed to catch his name. Soneth had caused him to forget everything for a few moments. She still made him want to jump up and down like a moron but that was undiginfied.

He paused before approaching closer. "Ah...R-R'ael?" he finally stuttered. He eyed the other boy before speaking again. "C-congrats on impressing a bronze. We'll be in classes together latter." He had been in a dream state though most of the impressing and the other probably felt the same way so might as well be polite and help the other place him.

"Mere apprentice, I don't know nearly enough to consider myself even that though." Peronsal preference, she didn't feel as if she'd earned the title till she knew she could hold her own with the knowledge she'd gained. It was how she justified everything to herself, as she didn't like simply being handed a title. She didn't truly consider herself a Candidate until she was out there, on the sands with the rest of the Candidates, and now hardly considered herself worthy enough to be called Weyrling, but knew better than to speak of it.

She nodded at the other one's words, agreeing readily. "It's beyond comprehension, but certainly something special, regardless." A warm smile crept upon her lips as she again reached up to brush another unruly lock of hair out of her eyes, out of necessity to see K'rel properly. "You went through three Hatchings? That must have been nerve-wracking each time. Obviously quite worth it, but nerve-eating just the same." Her food, until then, had been nearly forgotten, but the young girl suddenly remembered the delicious munchies, and dove in once again. A bit of juice dribbled down her chin, which she quickly rectified by wiping it off before it was able to drop.

"So, what should I expect from training?" She'd heard the lectures on what to expect before, but there was always room for improvement in such lectures. To hear from someone less likely to fluff and feather it would likely give more substance to it all.

((Sorry to intrude but I need to toss N'tren in there someplace! Poor fellow...))

N'tren had been looking for someone, anyone he knew in the sea of weyrlings and weyrfolk as well as kin and friends. It had been a rather spectacular Hatching with him reaffirming his bond to Datiath. Even now, the bronze was interesting in looking over the little ones... It was only at N'tren's insistance that he stay at the ledges and gossip that the bronze left.

You are too curious for your own good. N'tren smiled. Remember when you followed me into the kitchens, right out of the egg?

I was hungry. And I did not want to leave your side. Datiath responded. That is what Impression is about.

N'tren was so busy mind-talking with Datiath that he did not see the three-way gathering on R'ael and two of the newly Impressed. Eyes glazed over, he managed to walk into and stumble uncharacteristically into the bunch of them. Sitting on the ground, looking up, N'tren turned bright red. "Hey, R'ael. Uh...Sorry about that... Datiath and I were caught up in memories..."

He frowned at he heard Datiath's laughter ringing in his ears.

(I cannot keep up with big thread rp. XD I'm used to 1-3 people. XD

Sorry to keep you waiting Edit!)

She smiled, she would very much like to get to know all the new weyrlings her taste for dragonmen was not anything hidden, she may have been young but she was still old enough to have slept beside quite a few. Her heart pattered at the idea that she was now one of the many riders she adored...the idea hadn't quite dawned on her. She could not tell if the other green rider had been speaking to her so she glanced towards her and gave her a nod, of course they would all be working together, that is what it was all about, after all!

"I am very excited to start this new life...new adventure!" She smirked and a blush spread across her pale cheeks. She was babbling, she knew it, but couldn't keep the excited mush from spilling out. Sure that he would not mind her babbling he continued, "Where are you from?"
