Emile sat on the corner and wrapped her arms around her grumbling stomach. "Oh stop it. I've been with much less." she said angrily knowing it wouldn't do her a bit of good. She'd have to find something soon she supposed. Her legs felt like lead and she almost didn't want to move, but after a moment she forced herself up and trudged on.

Harriett looked down at the sandwich in her hands. She didnt really want it. She'd taken it from the Bed and Breakfast, but wasnt really that hungry. She looked around, and gave it to a beggar.
"Here."
Morodin prowled around her ankles, purring. She bit her lip, thinking back to that morning... she shuddered. But she'd not had anything weird happen again, maybe she'd imagined it... maybe...

Gregory looked at Araelia.
"Come on!" he sighed, looking at his watch. "we were supposed to meet Gianni in the forest five minutes ago. Stop being so slow."
He grinned slightly. He loved winding her up. They both knew he meant nothing by it.
"Honestly." he tutted. "Women!"

Emile walked along when a sharp pang of hunger sent her to her knees. She cringed as her knees hit the pavement. Her hands went to her stomach. "No, I'm fine. I'm not hungry. I'm not." she whispered. She grabbed her bag and staggered to her feet. "Got to keep moving. Have to keep moving. Don't think about it. You're not hungry. You can't be. You aren't supposed to be." Emile tried to convince herself, but with every step she longed for even one bite of food and her stomach burned with hunger.

As Morgan walked on she began to feel optmistic.
"This is going to be great" she thought. "Now maybe I should get a job Hmm, where to look..."

(The RP seems to be slowing down. I did come in kind of late. Maybe we could make an OOC thread; I like to talk to the people I RP with in addition to doing the actual RPing. And finally, Acheron should be acquainted with Greg, Rae, and Gianni, yes? Hopefully my intro post'll be okay. ^^)

It was nearly noon before Acheron awoke, coming to wakefulness in the large king-sized bed in his small but neatly kept apartment in Maygatropolis. He was practically sleepwalking as he showered, dressed, and wandered out into the small kitchenette in the apartment, only then actually catching sight of a clock. He sighed, swiping long, lank forest-green bangs out of his dark, sunken eyes. It was too late for breakfast, which was just as well. Acheron wasn't a big fan of breakfast foods. He'd much rather head out and find something for lunch. He'd awoken so late due to being a bit of a night-owl. He was a computer hacker by trade but also wrote software to earn a little money the honest way.

Of course, something was also on Acheron's mind. His powers weren't usually highly useful. After all, how helpful was it, really, to be able to tweak people's emotions? Not that Acheron didn't like it. He actually loved having power over people like that; he was a bit controlling. But that was beside the point. The point was that Acheron could sense people similar to him -- people with powers. And he was sensing a handful of them in town, just dimly but strong enough to know they were there. There were at least two; some of the sensations he got were faint and the kids were moving around, making it hard for Acheron to count them. He wasn't sure yet, but things just might get serious enough for him to want to get in touch with some of the more experienced people known as spirit witches.

Thinking these thoughts, Acheron headed out of his apartment building. Still in search of a place to have lunch at, Acheron passed a dark-haired girl on the street, noticing that she wore sunglasses despite it being kind of cloudy and not really the best day for them. What struck him about her, though, was the sense of power rolling off of her. Acheron wasn't really much of a people person, but he had to step in here. Where there was power, he would be there, trying to control it.

"Hello," he said, pleasantly enough, as he came up beside Emile. "Not talking to yourself, are you?"

(^^;; That was longer than I thought it'd be. Sorry.)

Emile looked up at the man. She bit her lip. "Just thinking out loud." she said softly. "Sorry if I bothered you." she looked away a little awkwardly.

"I see," Acheron returned, in his usual mild tone of voice.

This wasn't going too well. The girl looked uncomfortable and he was probably as much as a decade older than her. What if she thought he was hitting on her or something? He certainly wasn't a *****, but she didn't know that. He was just worried about the singing of power he could feel coming from her.

"You're not bothering me at all. I'm sure this'll sound a little strange, but it's noonish. Lunch time. Would you like to keep a guy company while he grabs a bite to eat?"

Oh, and now he probably really seemed like some sort of a pervert. He just wanted to work around to asking her if anything... Strange... Had been happening to her and figured food might put a girl at ease enough to talk about things that some people might regard as crazy.

Emile went to answer when a sharp hunger pang caused her to dropp her bag and fall to her knees her arms wrapped around her abdomen. "Ooohhh." she moaned. She looked up at the man and for once wished she didn't have on her sunglasses. Her eyes were filled with pain that words would never convey. Emile hated what she knew was coming next. But she needed to ask. "Help me." she begged. "Please, help me."

Acheron almost jumped when Emile fell to her knees; he hadn't expected that. As she looked up at him, Acheron crouched down, moving to help her to her feet, seeing as she was basically begging for assistance. He noticed as he helped her that she seemed quite thin, possibly malnourished. A meal would surely do her good. "Come on," he said, trying to sound comforting. "Let's get some food in you. You'll probably feel better after that." So saying, he started to walk slowly off, heading for a casual dining restaurant where he knew they would get fast service.

Emile leaned on him feeling foolish for collapsing like that. When they sat she didn't raise her eyes to meet his again. She didn't want him to see her embarassment at troubling him with her problems.

Acheron leaned on the table when they sat, still scrutinizing Emile while trying to seem as if he wasn't doing it. He could tell she was uncomfortable and decided that a little judicious use of his abilities couldn't hurt... Much. He wasn't really sure how he did what he did; it was like poking into someone's brain and moving the wiring around a bit. However it worked, Acheron did his stuff, inducing some cheer in Emile.

"So what would you like to eat?" he asked, making polite conversation. He gestured at the menus before making a selection himself.

Emile looked at the menu and shrugged. "I don't know." she said. She didn't mention he waslucky she could read the word 'menu'. Being on her own she hadn't taken the time to learn how to read much at all. Never mind writing.

Unaware of Emile's being lacking in the reading department, Acheron just shrugged at her answer. "I can order for you, if you like," he suggested, just as the waiter showed up. He didn't bother waiting for Emile, ordering for both of them and thoughtlessly following the waiter with his gaze for a few seconds before turning back to Emile.

"Usually a girl your age would be in school right now," he commented, trying to work around to the topic he really wanted to discuss. "I'm sure you have a very good reason for not being in a classroom, and perhaps you'll even be kind enough to share your logic with me." He smiled crookedly; the action looked uncomfortable. Not being a people person, Acheron didn't smile much.

Emile frowned. "School is a waste of time. There's too much to do to be stuck in a stuffy room on a day as nice as today." She traced her fingers on the tablecloth actually admiring the designs.

"Be that as it may, I don't think they let kids as young as you drop out. Then again, maybe I'm confused. I'm rotten at approximating ages."

He shrugged, and just then the waiter chose to return, placing their meals before them. Still trying to come up with a way to address any powers the girl might possess without seeming like a stalker or worse, Acheron began to eat slowly.

Deciding to brave the waters: "If I'm out of line, tell me, but there's something different about you, from other people. I was wondering if you'd noticed it."
