My senior year of high school was when I got into japanese fashion, mainly wearid vintage clothes and decora.Lolita wasnt until the end and not everyday.I don't know if people made comments or not.I usually never payed attention to anyone else,,and my friends were geeks like me,so they liked it too^__^.I go out as lolita sometimes, but Portland OR is pretty used to weird stuff,so I'm really not that much of a sore thumb I guess. My boyfriend thinks I look adorable in my lolita gear^__^.He wants to dress gothic aristocrat with me.I got so lucky!

Mizer Manakins Dude. Kinda creepy. 1. This crazy homeless guy wandering around the Wal-Mart parking lot mumbling "It's a ballerinaaaaa~~" 2. This security guard/janitor/crosswalk guy/whatever he is was manning the door on picture day and started talking, saying something along the lines of "I've been watching you this year. I like your outfits" o.o That was kinda scary. Please, refrain from watching me, old guy. This idiot boy in my German class asks why I wear weird clothing. I tell him it's because I'm not a nudist. Duh. I lol'd "ballerinaaaaa~~"

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
The vendor-cashier guy for the subway was trying to holler at me one time when I was on my way to a meetup.
"Hey, what is that you're wearing?" It's Lolita. A fashion influenced my the Rococo and Victorian Eras. "Ah, so it's like some kind of fantasy thing?" ..Yeah? o.o "Who's fantasy?" D: Mine? "...Is there anything I can do to fulfill that fantasy?" O///////////O No!
After that before I left onto the subway, he would call me by his version of "Rococo" (Rakoko! Rakoko!) D:
And then during my first meetup, there was a couple of hood guys who wanted to talk to us. o.o And one of them complimented (pervert tone, mind you) one of the girls.

Sadly, being from a poor family and not being able to work ('cause I really needed to pull up my grades and whatnot), I've never had the honor to wear real lolita (I wore bows in my hair, miniskirts and some buckled cloggers that I got at Payless a long time ago). However, when the idea came to mind, my ex-bf-now-good-friend was only worried that everyone would think he was a ***** if I just showed up one day dressed like a baby doll.
I was also going to a really artsie-fartsie school at the time -- so no one would have broken their necks to get a good long look at me in the halls.
Like I said, I have never been able to wear authentic lolita... So who knows? Plus, I drew enough (positive) attention with my FRUiTS and Decora ensembles heart

Well, I was in the mall today... we walked by a group of tough-looking guys, and they whistled and stuff... ugh. They did say I was "adorable", so I said "thanks..." and walked away as fast as I could.
It was scary. ><;; (although very amusing to see a gangster-ish guy like that say "adorable." You would never have guessed he knew what it meant. XD)

I personally think it's a pretty cool style (I'm a boy btw). Obviously, it looks a bit strange when seen out of context in everyday life, but I don't think that's really a bad thing.

Well now, so many people truly do get the wrong idea about the Lolita style. I personally chose the other option in the poll because I do not like Lolita because it is "cool" nor do I like it because it is "hot". I simply admire it because it is beautiful and the feminine counterpart to my lifestyle. I myself am what you would consider an EGA but truly my mind, heart, and soul have been this way long before it was given a name. I do admire how this style is getting popular but many people truly do have the wrong mentality about it. I will be the first to admit that many men in this era truly have little to no class and the few that are born with it may get swallowed up in their environment.
Lolita is something wonderful, not because it is cool and most certainly not because it is hot, but because it embraces beauty. Lolita is as much a mentality as it is a style. Whether it be in rags or in the finest dress, one is always Lolita if they truly feel it in their hearts.

I try my best to explain but some people do not want to listen...For me lolita is like...well just what u said, when i wear it (im in the process of aquiring a whole outfit..expensive) its like nothing can bring me down. When i don't i still act the same way..nice, polite and generally pleasant biggrin
