"Thanks for the offer." She grinned and without hesitation offered him her bowl of regurgitated lunch. "Watch out, I had a nasty battle with a cracker and some cheese today. Don't get caught in the aftermath." Her hands swirled the contents a little. "It might be radioactive, you know."

She tickled the man's middrift with her toes and continued to hold out her stomach's veteran contents.

Smirking, Sol tickled Orphne's feet back before sitting up and grabbing the bucket of puke. "Well let's just hope that there aren't any dead bodies in it. Who knows what kind of stuff you eat."

Smiling to himself, Sol hopped up and walked over to the kitchen. It was kind of strange having the lemony fresh scent stuck everywhere. It was like one of those commercials where everything turned into pine trees and orchids. It's a darn shame that they never invested into popari. Then again... that junk usually got to everyone's allergies and it was annoying to have around after a while.

Lifitng the bucket of mush up, Sol sighed and dumped the contents out into the sink, watching it all go down the drain. Though problem was, it wasn't going down any further. A little puddle of chuck was flaoting around with little bits here and there.

"... Darnit..." plugging his nose, he reached over and turned on the disposal unit, sending the disgusting crud down quickly, then turning on the water to send the rest away. After washing out the bucket, he left the kitchen to return to his friend.

"Merry be-lated Christmas." smirked Sol, putting the bowl in Orphne's lap and plopping down on the couch. "Anything good on tonight?"

The woman smiled broadly and suppressed a few giggles before sucking her knees to her chest and falling onto her side. It was fun to be coddled now and then. When Sol left the room, she reached out to fluff the sofa pillow, then leaned back and stretched her arms feebly overhead. "I'm still a p***y afterall."

Her legs ran through a few lifting exercises before the man got back and settled in on the couch, clean bowl and all. "Thanks."

He asked about the TV, and her only reply was a grim look and a toss of the remote into his lap. "See for yourself. Looks like mostly talk shows and soaps. I'm still waiting for a good TV movie, or something."

"Uh huh..." replied Sol as he grabbed the remote and flipped through a few channels. His eyes fixated upon the screen and listening in on the different words and images.

"We must escape this forsaken~"

-click-

"Now with Vitamin X!"

-click-

"Girls gone wild!"

-... ... ... ...click-

"Hmm... not much for the picking eh?" mumbled Sol as he laid back against the couch and watched some people fight on the TV. His eyes wandered around and watched as a Kiui or two bashed through the room and exitted through another. "... Gotta fix those things some day."

A sharp pain rushed against the back of his head, causing the young man to lean forward as snickering faded away from behind him.

"... With a hammer."

The woman smiled and stretched out on the couch again, curling up in Airez' blanket as if it were a coccoon, then taking the liberty of letting her legs lay across Sol's lap. If he had any complaints, she'd say the couch had been claimed before he'd ever arrived. She was just gracious enough to lend him some butt-space.

The mechanical giggling of the kiui faded again as Sol continued to flip through the channels. She closed her eyes and set the bowl on the floor again, feeling less inclined to woof her cookies, so to speak.

"Mmm, I miss him already. I don't think it's even been two hours."

Grumbling while scratching the back of his neck, Sol looked down at the pair of black pants draped over his lap, then shrugged and leaned back into the couch, flipping through more channels. "You mean dad?"

Even now, Sol still continued to call him by that name. Airez meant a lot to him, and he owned a great deal to the man for all the help he received in the past and present from him.

"Ehh... he'll be back soon enough. Maybe he'll bring left overs."

A raised an eyebrow in response. "Why do you say that? About your father? I had meant the both of them." Orphne stared at the millions of threads in the carpet under the couch, trying to count their fibers and in awe of their variable colors, while looking entirely cream colored from a few feet of average standing height.

She ran a hand over her stomach, pushing up the hem of her shirt where Sol couldn't see underneath the blanket. Her body was warm and soft, but not unusually so. Except for the sickness, she had nothing to prove that she was even pregnant.

If she discounted instinct.

"Sol, should I get a pregnancy test first? Or go see a doctor? Surely in your youth, you've spread a few loose children here and there..." It was both a sincere question and a dare. She wanted to know what kind of child Airez had raised.

"Well I mean... you said him so I only suspected you meant dad. You never said 'i hope they return'." retorted Sol as he flipped the channel, watching as a monster truck crashed half a dozen cars before switching to another channel, "So I assumed you meant Airez."

Turning his head to look over at Orphne, the pale ahired man stared for a moment before shrugging and relaxing into the couch some more, poking at Orphne's legs in his lap a bit.

"Doctor would be a good idea, though I don't know exactly how he'd react to seeing one of our race growing inside you. Probably send you to some science lab to study and examine you against your will. So I'm saying it's ricky, ya know?" as he answered this, a playful grin spread across his face and he quickly flicked Orphne's toe, "And you know I don't have any kids. I'm like my father as well... well in the sense of... well... you know."

"Sexless?" She teased him as her toes wiggled. Sol was such an affable guy, and she always felt comfortable around him. Though they would never share that parent-child bond, they did make for very good friends.

She saluted him with an affirmative. "I get you. So no docs? Test sounds good, at least for the first try." She nodded and burrowed in the blanket a bit more, pretending for a moment that Airez had his arms wrapped around her.

"I can probably make it to the convenience store tomorrow, pick something up." She wasn't sure if Sol knew.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 20, 2005 8:10 pm

"Sexless? Aww now that's a mean way to put it." joked Sol as he pulled some of the blankies up, wigglgin Orphne's toes and then looking back up at the TV, "It's better of this way anyhow. I don't think Airez would approve of me having any kids. Not that I COULD have any kids with the people around here."

Looking abck at the woman, a strange question arose in Sol's mind, drawing out his curiosity, "Umm... Orphy? Why exactly all this talk about pregnancy and such? I mean, unless oyu're having sex with some other guy, I don't think there is much of a point of getting tested. Dad really can't do much to get you pregnant, right?"

At least... he didn't think it was possible.

Hearing Sol's admission to self-convinced celibacy, Orphne had to smile into the comfort of the blanket seams. She felt special knowing that Airez was sharing this little secret with her; something that his own kind even thought impossible.

She was glad to be its vessel. Both hands stroked her abdomen, massaging it into relief.

"Would that bother you, if I were sleeping around with men that weren't your father?" She asked out of curiosity. So she was a simple creature. She couldn't help it.

"For the record, I'm faithful to Airez, and have been since I first thought I might have feelings for him. Even before then, I'd been preparing for him and I. There were things I had to change about myself.

"He wasn't my first." She shifted and hugged the blanket tighter. As long as she thought about all the times she spent lazing around in bed with the dark man, it would be more difficult to recall any past encounters. Most of them bad. She liked her present lifestyle and didn't want anything to change. Much. Both index fingers circled her bellybutton whimsically.

"But yeah." She giggled nervously. "I think he and I are going to have a baby." The expression on her face was serene.

Flipping the channel once more, Sol stayed silent as he pondered a response towards the woman's first words. It was a bit disturbing that she would ask that to him, who was the 'son' of Airez in the first place. But, they were around the same ages, appearance wise, so he had to show a little respect for it.

"Well... in all honesty I could see why you would be sleeping around with other guys. I mean, dad isn't exactly the greatest meat around when it comes to being social, right?" offered the pale haired while flippingly carelessly through the channels now, "Though I'm kind of glad you're sticking with him. It get's him off my back if anything."

Of course, Orphne's lack of a virginity was expected. She was a fine young woman with beautiful proportions on her body. Smart, funny, and she was fun to hang around. Sol could understand a bunch of guys going after her like they did. It only made sense that she would accept the company of one or two of them into bed with her. Not everyone was immune to the lustful touches of other, not even he himself.

Apparently, neither way Airez.

"Do what now?" came the suddenly jumbled mind of the young man. His eyes zoomed over towards Orphne. A rather playful look was on his face, not believing what the woman was actually saying, "Ahh now what did you do? Did you go to the GMFC or something? Did they do something about this?"

A hearty laugh and a clap of the hands brought his body forward, finding the thought of Airez being a 'true' father quite funny. Waiting on babies, warming bottles, child-proofing the entire house, and a few other essential pictures came to mind.

"Mmm hmm hmm... well I'm glad for you? I never imagined you'd go to a clinci or something like that to get yourself pregnant. And you had me thinking about some direct pregnancy going on their for a minute." laughed Sol as he prodded jestingly at her leg. "Hmm hmm hmm but all those technicallities and what not. Mmmm mm mm MM!"

The nymph had to feel a bit embarrassed for the lad. He was assuming too little of his father and too much of her. She wasn't sure what to say, except to nervously giggle. Laughter seemed to be contagious, even if the subject wasn't really all that humorous. She bit her lip.

"Sol, I never slept around with anyone because I enjoyed it. Well, I did, but that was a very long time ago and it was never a happy thing. There was never any love involved. You can safely assume that Airez is the first man I've ever felt honest and pure love for." It amused her to think back on how they met, but even at that point, they were both very different people. A lot of who they currently were was a result of their experiences as they grew together.

"You're right though, your father has never been the most social man I knew," and here she stopped to rub her knuckles along Sol's cheek, "But he's come a long way. He's a loner, preferring to distance himself for our safety, to protect us from whatever it is that haunts him." But saying that, she thought of the night she passed by the Legend headquarters and saw him reveal himself to Faevan. It was a painful memory, as petty as it seemed, but that most intimate part of him was something he'd shared with precious few throught the ages of his existence. To think that this other woman had earned his trust so easily after Orphne had worked so hard, the bitterness of the act left a sour taste in her mouth.

Her fingers glanced the flat of her middrift, patiently awaiting the shapliness of motherhood. Again she smiled brightly and lay back down again to stare at the ceiling.

"No, no clinic or fertility pills involved. No surrogates, sperm donations, or anything. I'm having a baby, Sol. I'm having his baby." The nymph hugged her middle, filled with a newfound love for the miracle she felt a part of. Sickness aside, this was the greatest thing she had ever known.

The blankets rustled as she bubbled with joy and rubbed her belly.

Blinking, Sol listened to Orphne for a moment before blinking a great deal more. Little gears in his head started clicking slowly. One by one, the wrods were starting to slide into their variously shaped opening, connecting and completing their puzzles.

"Do what now?" he repeated, trying to get the jist of the situation still, "So you're having his baby."

Leaning over, Sol peered down at Orphne's stomach under the blankets. Lifting a hand, he poked at her navel area before scratching the back of his neck and looking down at the ground. How was it possible? That little message kept running over adn over through his head.

He was Airez's only child, and had always been thusly. In no way did he think his father would actualyl be able to impregnate some one like Orphne, not even for a moment. Sure he was very close to the girl, but how could the man actually make an actually, natural child that actually was of his own DNA and blood.

"Ahh so... he's got a child now. One that's going to be born of you." responded Sol, happy for Orphne though still very confused, "Mm..."

The touch of Sol's fingers over her abdomen made the nymph squirm in a silly manner before wrapping herself in the blanket again and snuggling into the crevice of the couch back. The man may have been Airez' son in some sense, but she'd always seen Sol as more of a brother to her. As such, Orphne was perhaps more comfortable with him than she was with Waya, since with her own son she had to be a guardian and mentor and not so much a friend.

"Yes, it's exciting isn't it?" She smiled and prodded the boy's ribs with her toes. For the first time she would be assissting in the creation of life. The ill mornings were nothing in comparison to the thrill of having someone small reside within you.

A nostalgic look outlined her features. "You know, I think this is the first time I've pitied men." It made her heart leap.

And her stomach grumble. "Hmm." Her pink lips turned sour for a moment as hunger stirred. The woman shifted again onto her left side then nudged the boy softly. "Sol, think you could whip us up some sandwiches? I don't feel so sick anymore, and I just know you've been dying to cook for me." She grinned.
