sinistergrin66 I don't know if the Marauders were in the third book as much as the fourth and fifth. Lupin and Sirius didn't tell much about James and Wormtail, if I remember correctly. *shrug* Just an poinion, I gues. Well, it wasn't so much information about the Marauders themselves that was missing, but the map wasn't very well explained. That's what bugged me.

I was mildly disappointed with the third movie. Although it was much darker than the previous two which was so much better they missed out so much of the book and a lot of the better parts of it also, especially the Mauraders part which makes the difference.
It was also a disappointment that the movie was shorter than the previous two and they also missed out the final Quidditch game which I thought was quite important in the book, with Griffindor winning the cup and all.

SO! ...THe 4th movie is coming out in November...I feel a bit apprehensive about it. I doubt it will be anywhere near as good as the book, but at least, from what I've seen in the trailors, the special effects and everything look good...

Yep. I'm kind of worried about it, but I will work my tail end off to try and see it as soon as humanly possible once it's out. It'd be great if one of the student organizations on campus could get the special early screening for it (we've been able to get free tickets for special early screenings of certain movies for the past few years. It's great, but most of the movies I really want to see don't ever seem to be a part of it eek ). I'm excited about it even though I know they'll probably cut out a ton of what was in the book.

You know what's weird? I heard that the 4th movie was rated 14+ because they thought it was too scarey for younger veiwers.

They can't put everything that was in the book in the movie! Otherwise the movie would get way too long! It was better than I expected but they could have done better. I absoulutly love Hogsmeade in the winter time! The buildings looked amazing from the outside. Now I wish That Hogsmeade really did exsist! whee

Well...I saw the fourth movie... I have to admit that it was quite a bit better than the 3rd one. However, it seemed to jump around a lot, and I can imagine that it would be pretty confusing for anyone who hadn't read the books. It's just gotten to the point where the books are so long, and so much happens in them, that they have to cut out a good 60% of it to make it fit into an average-length movie. It's kind-of a downer. neutral However, it was funny to watch my little sister during the movie, 'cause she's freaking head-over-heels for Daniel Radcliffe. I thought she was going to swoon when he took his shirt off in the bath scene. Silly little 11-year-old. lol

What's the reigning opinion on the fourth movie? I liked it best of the movies so far, but I was bummed that so much was left out sad I guess I can kinda understand though because it is a long book and the movie was 2 hours long, but still.

I liked the 4th movie okay. I think they did the best they could while keeping it within a reasonable length for a movie. It was better than the 3rd one by quite a bit. At least I didn't leave the theater feeling gypped and pissed off.
