Xallen thought it was rather interesting that he could make it so far into the radius before the weapons trained on him. However, the rest of his brain's functions focused on getting the hell out. Xallen had been focusing mainly on the weapons after all, and so once he detected the platforms turn toward him, he immediately turned around and ran in the opposite direction. He was still pretty far away, and he started running the instant he saw them aim rather than waiting for them to fire. As such, he expected he'd be able to leave the 100 meter radius safely and would then find some sort of cover to jump behind, like a building.

Xallen did manage to get away with his hide. But not by much. The heat from the blasts of missiles and cannon was most definately felt. And he could have sworn that the fires were singing the hairs right off what little human parts he had left...
But, he got out of there alive. And mostly unharmed. And now there was a new spot of rubble, broken street mostly. No cover but would be a pain to walk across and keep your balance, where the attacks had torn up the earth.

The magic duffel bag totting Zen returned to this vacinity and saw the barrage heading where Xallen once stood, he was running for his life I'd say. Zen was glad that Xallen was so far, he was also glad that it was only dummy missiles and nt seekers, otherwise Zen would had been forced too jump in, but Xallen handled himself well.

Xallen lay on the ground, with his arms over his neck in a characteristically human reflex. He knew that any slower of a response and he could've been killed. He took a moment to collect all the observations he made; his conscious took a bit of time to catch up after the panic. He got back up and smoothed out his clothing, shaking off all the dust he had. However, now it was time for his plans to take effect, now that he saw Zen had returned. "Zen, let's talk behind this building, so they can't see us if there are people inside."
He motioned for Zen to come closer, and once he did, Xallen instructed, "I'm going to roll one of those barrels toward the complex while it's still empty. I need you to prepare the second barrel while I do that. Put the hot stuff you found in the duffel bag so it's vaguely shaped like a person hunched in a ball. Make sure you stay out of sight of the complex. In case it's human-operated, I want them to think you're inside the barrel I'm rolling. Got it?"
Assuming approval, Xallen would take the barrel from Zen, leaving him in the alley. From a hundred and five meters away, he laid the barrel on its side, and pushed it forward, sending it rolling toward the complex. That should tell him something about how that barricade worked.

There wasn't much to figure out. The barrel rolled out. It hit the broken ground where Xallen had foolishly drawn fire (Or not), and there, boom, big boom, as all the weapons went off again, leaving almost nothing of the barrel left. Not even a splinter of wood.
The word Overkill applies. It was enough firepower it probably could have insta shredded a tank, never mind a barrel.

"Damn, I guess it's just movement of solid objects....I have an idea." Zen allowed blood to wriggle from his hand and over the danger zone in which the building created, he hoped that because it was a liquid it'd make it through, but all they could do was wait and see.

Xallen clicked his tongue in frustration. Damn. So much for the ice barrel kart plan. However, Zen had already prepared the hot barrel, and he had one more area to check. "I wonder if airborne objects can pass by..." As such, he picked up the hot barrel, and threw it as far as he could toward the fortress. He wondered if it would be shot down in mid-air or what. Perhaps an something that wasn't a straight trajectory would throw its aim off.

Shunk. As Xallen chucked the barrel up into the air, there was the sound of something releasing. Sounded almost like a damned old fashioned catapult or trebruchet.
But ti wasn't Whatever it was, it was coming from the roof of the building, and not from the weapons arrays. If Xallen looked closely at his barrel, he might have made out what jsut shatterd it into hundreds of little pieces.
Looked like a damned storm of metal. Little pieces of twisted metal. And a lot of them. Seemed to cover a wide area.
Zen though was having better luck. As the blood crossed the line, it wasn't drawing attention. Not yet at least...

Xallen stared at the barrel get torn to pieces. Lovely. He supposed there was that one last plan he considered earlier before Zen arrived with the barrels. Those spheres in the slits were awfully suspicious. He wondered if they might be orbs. And in his experience with orbs, the best thing to do with orbs was to remove them. As such, he'd take various solid pieces of debris, without entering the radius of doom, and use his arm cannon to fire them at the glassy things in the slits. He doubted he could hit it with one rock. But if he shot many, he might have a shot. He'd continue to do this until Zen or the weapons gave him a reason not to.

((Does Zen actually have enough blood to bleed out over 100 yards?))
Xallen's first shots were off. But then, that figured. It almost always took a few ranging shots to really get your aim right, right? Anyway, they were bouncing off the side of the building. No fire from the cannons, not at the rocks.

((Oh crap. I just realized I haven't equipped a new marble since the old one got destroyed. However, I haven't really attacked anything, so hopefully it's okay for me to equip it now...))
Xallen realized his aim might be off because he forgot to equip one of those confounded marbles. He took the restorer from his pocket and placed it on his stomach. Then he continued as before, throwing more and more rocks. However, if he didn't start getting closer to hitting one of the sphere-glass-orb-things really soon, he'd probably just give up. After all, running into something like that without any defenses would be suicide. Xallen would sooner give up a potential marble.

((Zen just drop off the earth, or just taking time with long, complex posts?))
One, two, three. All misses. But the fourth. the fourth hit. And something was definately different about it. Xallen's cyber eye could probably see that it was damaged. Course, focusing on the glass, ment you weren't focusing on...
There was the loud bark of the weapons, as they just unloaded on Xallen's position. Beyond 100 yards, hardly mattered. They were still coming in. (Same payload as above)
Xallen was in big danger. Zen, well, Zen had hope, unless he was standing right next to Xallen.

((*sighs* Damn, and Zen probably could've done something to help shield me. I need more specific information about the targets of the weapons. I assume they're not all aimed at the exact same point, or it'd be pretty easy to avoid...
EDIT: Since Zen hasn't posted in awhile, is it alright if we assume he entered super-stealth, super-defense mode after his last post? The blood would obviously be canceled.))

((Well, they are. Just note that stuff is AoE. Area of Effect. I mean, Bullets aren't. But they're in a slightly wider spread. Assume something like a 2 by 2 foot 'area'. Cannon blasts blow up on impact. Missiles blow up on impact...
And considering the nature of the fire, if you do get hit, its an auto-critical roll... Lots of firepower. More than just a flesh wounding.))
