He winced as if struck before slowly rising to his feet to gently look down at her. How this hurt! "Yeah..." The males voice had dropped again, to become a sort of soothing tone just an octive lower then a tener. His dark green eyes flickered down to the ground in shame.

She had to look up to squarely look him in the eye. Look up. Not the short distance that didn't even require moving her neck, but she almost had to crane to see him.
It was happening again. Just like before. They all grew up and left poor little Shiva behind. It wasn't her fault that she took longer. Not this time!
"W-what happened Shage?"

"It...it wasn't me Shiva...I...I didn't mean to." He sighed and took a step back so she wouldn't have to move her head so much to look at him. "I was visiting my Aunt Amara. If I don't she goes months without social contact. I was a hungry so just...picked up a peice of fruit and ate it...Like...father like son I suppose."

Why did she want to cry? She never cried. Not since she was a toddler! But she wanted to now.
"Amara?" That was one Pae'il she would NEVER forget. She was mean, ruthless, and all-around nasty. Beautiful though. Shiva would admit that Amara was almost as pretty as she was. And that took quite a bit.
"I...see.." Abruptly turning, she gazed out at the ocean. She didn't know if she should stay, or leave, or just freeze him into a chunk of ice.
Already her fingers were icing over, she was that upset. It always happened when she got upset, her arms would start icing over. That's what happened when your power was channeled through your hands. Oh dear.

"Shiva...shiva I'm sorry." He spoke softly, looking at the female as she turned away from him to look at the water. "I didn't think this would have happened. I...didn't know..." The male knew about the others bitterness towards pae being bigger then she, pae her age or older being bigger. And now...because of some FRUIT he had done the same...

"No. You probably didn't. But did Amara?" It wasn't a secret that she and Shage had been friends lately, and it would seem JUST like that evil thing to prey on Shiva's weakness.
But then...that would mean she cared. Did she? Why would anybody give a damn about Shiva?
"Never mind. That was stupid of me." Frozen hands rubbed over her face, as she tried hard to think about what to do. It hurt so bad to know that someone else had grown up.
"Did Junior....too?" Another friend. His twin. She bet that he had.

"I don't know...to either. Aunt amara seemed mildly surprised when I visited her but I haven't seen junior in a while." He sighed. She was upset. "Nothing coming from you could be stupid Shiva...you're too intelligent for that."

That seemed odd to her. She saw her siblings nightly, when they returned to their home not far from Headquarters. Why wouldn't he have seen Junior? Then again, he was a bit of a flirt and was probably stalking some poor girl.
"I'm surprised Amara tolerates you. Perhaps because you're of a comparable race to her spirit." Shiva couldn't help but smile at that. Amara constantly reminded everyone that she thought everyone was a goodie-goodie, save a few demons.
At his final comment, she did turn, and smile in his direction. She didn't really want to look up, she hated that she HAD to look up.
"Thank you, but I'm not that smart."

He shrugged slightly. "I think it's because I bring her apples from the HQ's kitchen." Noticing her head still turning up, the male quickly sat down so that he had to look up at her. "Nah...you're brilliant. Maybe not in the way of Raken, where you know all the parts of a cell...whatever that is. But in the way that counts most."

"Maybe. I don't know what makes her tick, she is just awful." Shiva found that if she knelt, she was at about the same height as Raken sitting. Her legs would get tired, but at least for now they were the same height.
"I guess you came to tell me you didn't want to hang out with a kid anymore, huh?"

"She is the fae of hate." The male murmered, watching her kneel down. Slowly he shook his head, frowning lightly. "Shiva...I don't care about height. I don't care about age, stage or any of that. What I do care about is you." A dark blush spread against his face. "N-Not like that, I mean I do care about you but what I was saying was your personality not the you, you but the you as a pae you-" He cut off from his rant with and audible 'click' from his teeth.

Giggling softly, the icy Pae gave her friend a tentative smile. "Did you bite your tongue? You really should be careful, Shage!" It was a bit of a relief that though he was now bigger, and technically, older than her; he didn't want her to go away.
"I care a bit too. You are..well..were, the only friend I had my age. I guess things will be different now though. Adults have other things to do." Lightly, she traced patterns in the sand, filling them with ice that steamed in the afternoon sun. It was painful, it really was. Shiva just didn't know what to do!
